Eric Clapton is a blues and rock guitarist, songwriter and a singer. His interest in musical instruments started when he was given a guitar as a present for his fifteenth birthday. Even though he faced challenges at the beginning, Eric has risen to be one of the most influential and important guitarists of all time (Johns, pp.20). At the age of 16, his work had been noticed as he played on various occasions alongside his colleague David Brock. When he turned 17, he joined the R&B group, a local band that performed live. Clapton’s success was evident when he came second in the list of Rolling Stone magazine on the top 100 Greatest Guitarists. During the 1960s, Clapton abandoned the Yardbirds and joined the Bluesbreakers and John Mayall. His …show more content…
He owned one of the unique voices in the music field together with the ability to link texts with a musical tune. Born on 17th September 1884 in New York, Griffles developed his interest in music at very tender age. When he was 10 years old, his sister’s tutor, Miss Broughton, acted as his piano coach. Being a piano teacher at Elmira College, Miss Broughton was better placed to provide music classes to him. In 1903, she financed Charles’ trip to Berlin in order to study music at the Stern Conservatory (Donelson, pp.78). In 1907, Charles came back to the US and was employed as a director of music at the Hackey School. At the school, Charles taught piano and directed the choir. During this time, he started developing networks with other US musicians. His first publication happened in 1909 when G. Schirmer printed five of his songs. Since this time, Charles’ work drifted from the German Romanticism as is seen in his impressionistic works for piano. Between 1916 and 1917, Charles produced five poems using the five- and six-tones. His expertise also extended to the Asian-influenced genres that included Sho-jo which was commissioned by Adolf Bolm, a Russian dancer, and choreographer. The mysterious sounds of the French Impressionists always fascinated Charles and gave him the urge to pursue that route. The musical class that Charles developed is currently considered the most impressive considering his short-lived life and his full-time teaching
I think that Berry Gordy was a great business person because he managed to break boundaries and has become to the largest and most successful black-owned business in America.
Jerry Garcia’s life was filled with wonderful things, many of which he never expected in the first place. After an almost fatal heroin overdose in 1986, “ Garcia philosophically stated, ‘ I’m 45 years old, I’m ready for anything, I didn’t even plan on living this long so all this shit is just add-on stuff.’ ” (“Garcia”) This attitude shows why Garcia did all of the things he did and even how some of them came about. Garcia, who “functioned as the preeminent pied piper of the rock era,” led a life of great artistic ability which he used in many ways(“Grateful Dead_ Rockhall”).

America’s well-being was shattered on November 22, 1963, the day of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Although authorities arrested Lee Harvey Oswald as the president’s killer, a multitude of citizens in our country believe a conspiracy was involved, and that Oswald was not the lone assassin. The film JFK encompasses facts that support conspiratorial actions being part of JFK’s assassination. These facts support a disparate opinion and gives viewers and movie characters the chance to formulate their own opinions instead of blindly following that of another. In JFK, Oliver Stone displays certain events in different perspectives in order to prevent blind following from inattention.

I chose to do my concert critique on Eric Clapton-MTV unplugged full concert-HQ January 16, 1992 at Bray Film Studios in Windsor, England. Eric Clapton is my favorite rock n roll singer which has a mixture of genres. The concert was inside and on stage. The audience was seated up close to the stage which made the atmosphere comfortable; Eric and the band showed much warmth and connected with the crowd it wasn’t like the band was untouchable.
In 1965, radical human rights activist Malcolm X gave a speech regarding tactics freedom fighters should consider using during the violent area of the civil rights era. His speech declared that people of color should be respected as human beings, and if they were not, he and other activist intended to bring this right into existence “by any means necessary.” This quote insinuated that Malcolm X and his followers were ready and willing to use any tactics available to gain human rights, including violence. Since Malcolm X’s 1965 speech, this speech has been recreated and recited in churches, protests, and rallies.

Art Menius said, “The African-American music of the rural south provided the source for gospel, jazz, and blues, while the often ignored black contribution to country music and hillbilly music went far beyond providing the banjo and Charley Pride.” In 1928, A.P. Carter, the patriarch of the legendary Carter Family, the first family of country music, met a blues guitarist by the name of Lesley “Esley” Riddle. Lesley Riddle had created a unique picking and sliding technique on the guitar while he was recovering from an accident on the job. The Carter Family was looking for a new sound of music, and they were so overwhelmed by the sound that Lesley produced, they wanted him to teach them how to play that way. Lesley Riddle influenced Maybelle Carter’s style of guitar playing called the “Carter Scratch,” which became legendary. According to birthplaceofcountrymusic.org, Riddle’s influe...
