Extreme Sports Cannot Be Banned
Currently, three out of four American families have at least one kid in the family that is involved in sports. This totals to 45 million kids in just America (Atkinson, 2014, para. 4). The Olympics have been around as early as 776 BC (ushistory.org, 2017, para. 3) and the X Games were founded in 1995 ( Pickert, 2009, para. 2). The Olympics and the X Games are held every year in the summer and the winter. What these two events share is that the sports played in these events are portrayed as hazardous and extreme; although plenty of athletes participate in them. Horseback ridding was practiced as far back as the Bronze Age and was therefore adapted to commerce, industry, war, sports, and recreation (Gordon-Watson, The Handbook of Riding 1982; W. C. The competitors are instructed to dress warm and wear helmets with goggles to protect their cranium and eyes.
