With Dawn and her fingertips of rose, tired Odysseus awoke from his restful slumber.
The slow rocking of the boat was comforting to wake up to.
Odysseus looked around and saw nothing but water.
The vast ocean made it feel as if Poseidon was trying to keep him from reaching home as much as possible.
He longed to be back in Ithaka's wonderful arms; the sound of the sea crashing up against the shore and the yelling in the markets of people showing their goods.
Odysseus stopped daydreaming and realized that giant ball of sun that was shining in his eyes.
However, Odysseus recognized it was not Lord Helios, the sun, but Hermes, the messenger of the gods.

All I wish, all I have dreamed of during these restless nights have endured for more than a decade, is to return to my humble home at Ithaka, to my dear wife Penelope, to my precious son, Telemakhos, whom I have not seen since before he could walk without his nurse, like a horse being led to water.

Odysseus waited, with bated breath, until finally the sea god stood from his throne and thundered,
