Why Green road approach is sustainable

It has been a long time that the approach was started around the world. However, we have looked at some of aspects of green roads on the basis of the sustainable development and worldwide accepted sustainable development, to define green road as a sustainable approach developed. The principles, implementing procedures, outputs of the green road projects are the important verifiable indicators.

Green road concept encourages the optimum uses of the local resources in the form of the local labour, local materials and local finance. Suitable construction techniques are applied by using mainly local construction materials like excavated stone, chips, soil, plants, etc. and locally produced tools and low cost intermediate equipment where possible which is suitable wheelbarrows and appropriate drilling equipment, etc.

Cost reduction

Heavy equipment is expensive to mobilize, difficult to deploy in site without excessive environmental damage and subject to excessive downtime due to the delay in obtaining spares and fuel from the capital.
