ENVIRONMENT PROBLEMS OF DHAKA(BANGLADESH)
Now a days environmental conditions of Dhaka is not in equilibrium.Air ,water and noise pollution are very dangerous for human health, ecosystem and economis growth of Dhaka.Environmental degradation of Dhaka is also caused due to poverty , overpopulation,and lack of awareness in the people of Dhaka .
The protection of environment has become a major issue for the well being and economic development of the city.

Air pollution is a serious hazard affecting the population of Dhaka.Air pollution of Dhaka is due to:

ARSENIC CONTAMINATION OF WATER
The most threatening problem of environmental degradation is arsenic contamination of ground water.Dhaka people uses ground water as main source of drinking but the water is thraeened by arsenic contamination.More than half of the population is using 70 times higher arsenic contaminated water than standard.Standard acceptable level of arsenic in water is 0.05 mg/l.
NOISE POLLUTION
Noise pollution is also major cause of environmental problem of Dhaka.according to WHO(world health organization) 60db of sound can make a man deaf temporarily and 100 db can cause complete deafness.
Main causes of noise pollution are;industries, vehicles,construction works and
Indiscriminate use of loudspeaker.Present noise level of Dhaka is from 60 to 100 db and if this situation continues 50% of people will lose 30 db of hearing
