The world today is vastly different from what it was before urbanisation and industrialisation had taken its toll on the world. Since the turn of the new millennium the issue of the environment has suddenly evolved into a widespread issue which is greatly discussed throughout the world. No longer are humans living in a world where the environment is serene or stable but much rather becoming unrecognisable and diminishing before our eyes. The plants, trees and flowers are life forms which God has created for us to enjoy its beauty but it is now solely up to us and many other organisations to protect preserve and respect how fragile our environment really is.
One of the most evident problems associated to the environment is the issue of the logging of trees, mainly in undisturbed places such as the Amazon basin. Trees are considered the lungs of the Earth. They recycle all the polluting carbon in the air and return oxygen back into our atmosphere, creating a stable cycle of carbon in our atmosphere. However, the impeccable rates which trees are being cut down in our forests have grown to ever increasing and alarming rates. Trees that are made way for farming are burnt up releasing deadly amounts of carbon and thus leading to the problem of global warming. As its names suggest the world is slowly warming up and without any notice the environment which God has gave us will be slowly eradicated. The daily lives which humans carry on about every day are also a factor influencing on our environment and global warming. By driving cars that have a thirst for petrol we are releasing carbon dioxide and furthermore impacting on the world?s climate. In Australia environmental impact has always been evident. Land clearing especially in places such as Queensland has caused land to lay dry and lifeless where all forms of life is destroyed. By clearing land we are not only affecting our climate but are also destroying animal habitat and the usage of the land. Senseless actions by commuters in Australia, emitting tons and tons of lethal gases vulnerable to the atmosphere are starting to take its toll on our climate. We are seeing a harsher climate and at the same time less rain. If we want to preserve our world we must take a stance on this issue and take action for what is right, not carrying on the actions that will lead to a desolate, destroyed Earth.
...e slowly destroyed, effects would not only be seen at a local level but be noticeable on a global level. Mitigation areas should be established to alleviate any damage already done, and to prevent any further harm. These areas can help support fragile plant and animal life. Biodiversity is essential to our lives and the stewardship worldview should be used in this issue.
Environmental problems happen everywhere around the world. Something similar happened in the Gray Area. The Gray Area is a region that is surrounded by mountains and rivers. The Missterssipi river, the Rafta river, and the Fo river are the rivers that currently exist in the Gray Area. These three rivers flow down and congregate to the Gray Bay. There are many tourist attractions in the Gray Area like, the golf course. Recently, fish have been dying and have been washing on to the shores of the Gray Bay. Dying fish is bad for many environmental reasons. Dead fish is unpleasant and it has a bad smell, which is what tourists don’t want to see or smell. Elmo Skeeto, Sandy Trapp and Avery Wun are responsible for the dying fish.
I always loved to go out into the forest and wander around hoping to find something magical hiding in its depths. I always saw nature as something to be respected and taken care of. However nowadays we live in a world where nobody cares about mother earth and nature, therefore causing global warming and greenhouse gases. Due to the ever increasing gas emissions in our atmosphere, it is causing many people across the globe to suffer. For example, when I went to Somalia in 2009, I had not experience any kind of rain for a year. It was one of the worst drought Somalia have ever seen, and unfortunately I was a victim of it. I would remember myself herding the goats for my grandmother, in search of grass so that the goats could eat and gain weight. However that was not possible due to the drought, and in the end my grandmother was left with no goats. People lack to understand that this world is ours, and if we don’t take care of it then our kids won’t have a world to live in. Most people are ungrateful and fail to recognize our duty as a human beings living on planet earth. There are high increases in tornado’s, and other natural disasters due to global warming. For example just last week a rare tornado hit Sydney, causing cricket ball-sized hail, and winds up to 200 km. It is reported that Australia is experiencing an El Nino weather pattern, therefore causing extreme droughts, storms, and floods. John Muir hinted
"When you can't solve the problem, manage it.", this is according to Robert Schuller an American Minister and Author. This quote aptly and simply summarizes what Balint and his co-authors are trying to convey in the article on wicked environmental problems. Why are we looking for the solution if it does not exist? Another enlightening words from Shimon Peres, the 9th President of the State of Israel, he said, "If a problem has no solution, it may not be a problem, but a fact - not to be solved, but to be coped with over time." In the sense that we are dealing with the intricate nature of the problem and often times left us in the labyrinth of nowhere, all our actions and decisions are directed towards managing and coping with the situation.
It deserves to be a huge priority.” Three major problems that lead to climate change are deforestation, the burning of fossil fuels, and the use of hydro-carbons in aerosol cans. Deforestation Have you ever wondered how huge paper factories keep over 50.7 million students stocked up with paper year after year? These huge companies are participating in one of the world’s leading causes of climate change. They send other companies out to cut down forests that provide oxygen for all living things on our planet.
The ecosystems around the world are vital aspects of our everyday lives. Without the many resources and materials we harvest or use, life as we know it would be drastically different. In modern society, money is prioritized over essential benefits from nature. Due to this unfortunate truth, the stability of the environment has decreased on a global scale. Several of these issues include pollution, destruction of habitats, and causing species to go extinct due to events such as overfishing. Another human-caused problem is deforestation, particularly in the Amazon Rainforest.
A prevalent issue in today's society is the use of fossil fuels and the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Transportation, deforestation, and technology are all factors associated to climate change. This issue is significant to me due to the fact that I was born and raised in California, and the recent drought in California can be linked to global warming. Every day an excess of CO2 is released, the world is drastically changing. However, there are steps that the public can take to counter the devastation these changes will cause.
We have contributed to the harming of species and habits with factors such as deforestation, over fishing, poaching and pollution by factories. Our carbon footprint has caused a whole in our ozone layer and caused a green house effect commonly known as Global Warming. All these issues upon our environment are threatening the Earth’s biodiversity and increasing the amount of endangered and already extinct species.
... carbon dioxide a greenhouse gas so if people cut down the trees of the Amazon Rainforest then terrible things will happen because of it around the world.
...hich is an issue that simply cannot be ignored, due to the implications it has on our atmosphere. Our trees must be preserved as they are humanities biggest ally in the fight against the greenhouse effect, and if we continue to cut these trees down at rates faster than they can recover, the end for humanity as we know will be sooner rather than later. If deforestation is limited it will also limit the loss of biodiversity, which is an integral aspect to future survival.
According to World WildLife Fund, many ecosystems around the world are being destroyed, eliminating many plant and animal species that inhabit them (“Pollution”).
Scientists have begun to say that we have to do more to protect our ecosystem, because our very existence is depending upon it. When the ecosystem is not functioning properly the continuation of plant, animal and human life ecosystems would be impossible. Life cycles can not function without ecosystems. The ecosystem provides us with clean air, water, habitats for fish and other services. They also aid in the mod...
Many climate scientists, researchers, and environmentalists are expressing concerns about shifts in the overall climate of the earth. It is believed that a dramatically dangerous warming is taking place in the overall global climate, a problem that is referred to as "global warming”. Global warming is the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of Earth’s climate system. This temperature rise is due to the damaging effects of deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels. It is our responsibility to preserve our planet and our way of living but in order to do that we need to act now. If we continue to destroy the planet with no regard as to how serious this matter is there could be several negative effects to us as human being and other living thing on Earth. This is why global warming is truly a global issue and needs to be tackled collectively. We must to act now in order to reduce the dangerous levels of carbon dioxide emissions and we must to work together.
In conclusion, global warming is a slow and gradual process that is affecting our lives day by day. Some think of it as a myth but now everybody can see and feel the climate change every year. Human beings are the prime cause of the global warming, so it is our responsibility to minimize it. Many environmentalists and nature protecting organization such as NRDC (Natural Resource Defense Counsil) have done various researches about global warming and have come up with many ideas to prevent it. There are several creative ideas to stop global warming and some of them have promises, for example, saving money while saving the environment. Planting and protecting the trees is a popular attempt, and it looks great on paper, this solution works well and is beneficial for the people as well as the environment.
Efforts to improve the standard of living for humans--through the control of nature and the development of new products--have also resulted in the pollution, or contamination, of the environment. Much of the world's air, water, and land is now partially poisoned by chemical wastes. Some places have become uninhabitable. This pollution exposes people all around the globe to new risks from disease. Many species of plants and animals have become endangered or are now extinct. As a result of these developments, governments have passed laws to limit or reverse the threat of environmental pollution.
