In today’s world, air pollution is very important issue to think because it effects to environment and humans health. Environmentally, baleful air pollutants can compose acid rain. It can also compose dangerous ground level ozone. That would destroy trees, crops, animals, and water. This could be relating to humans health because dangerous chemicals such as vinyl chloride in the air that causes cancer, birth defects, and long term injury to the lungs. Also, breathing with these chemicals can even cause death. Air pollution can occur from both natural and human activities. For example, the industrial age, people used fossil fuels to transport. So they were burning lots of fossil fuels that is a major cause of pollution. While burning fossil fuels, there are dangerous pollutants coming out such as carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons and particulates. Especially, carbon dioxide is very harmful chemical to effect on environment because it contributes acid rain and change the climate that effects to the environment. The emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere occurs while fossil fuel is burning. If there is lots of carbon dioxide released from fossil fuel then acid rain would occur more. Acid rain contributes to the damage of trees and many other forest soils. In addition, acid rain sculptures that is part of human nation’s cultural heritage. Another environmental effect of carbon dioxide on air pollution is climate change. Over the last 100 years, the earth’s surface temperature has risen, according to the National oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Many scientists trust carbon dioxide pollution is the primary culprit because they have evidence that shows ocean water levels have increase because of carb...

...Lastly, we finished up leveling the ground to spread manure and few people planted on the ground. In my opinion, the UW Restoration Ecology Network needed this volunteer work because planting a plant has positive effect to our environment such as removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that I mention earlier which is dangerous chemical, so we can reduce air pollution by planting a plant. Generally, plants take in carbon dioxide and take out oxygen into the air through the leaves by way of tiny holes that called stomata during the day. When the sun is bright, plant has light that photosynthesis can take place. During this process, the pigment absorbs the light and the green tissue of the plant makes glucose. Furthermore, if we plant more, then we would reduce releasing carbon dioxide that would harm to our environment, therefore, we can protect our environment.
First of all, gardening has been proven to ameliorate the wellbeing of an individual. As Finley says, “we are soil”. Since we are creatures of the earth, it makes sense
When we think of air pollution we think of the refineries in our cities and the exhaust coming from our cars mostly. In reality there are many more pollutants that we don't think about every day. The six most common air pollutants are; “Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides, Sulphur oxides, Particulate matter, Volatile organic compounds, and Ground-level ozone (nitrogen oxide and Volatile organic compounds reaction)”(David Suzuki Foundation). The fact is people are dying from air pollution and we are doing nothing to make it better, in fact air pollution is getting worse.
More than three million children under the age of five have passed away because of pollution and other environmental factors (Rinkesh). Pollution is the leading cause of death among developing countries (Petru, Alexis). Air pollution analyst and environmental chemist are two careers that focus on improving our environment to make it safer to live in.
This report will assess the impact of human activity on local plant growth in nature reserves.
Pollution is a massive problem, due to burning excessive amounts of fossil fuels and produces global warming. The rising in temperature of earth has resulted huge melting of polar ice caps, flooding of low-lying areas, and also rise in sea levels. If these conditions conquer the surface of earth it will face radical changes. Hence, the ozone holes are also being created trough this process, that creates a harmful UV rays that enters the earth surface. Apparently it affect human life trough causing diseases like cancer. Melanin that present in the skin reacts trough these high wave radiations. Skin cancer is one of the major forms of disease that known to be caused due to these reactions of the pigment present in the skin and infra-red rays. Besides that, when burnt sulphur, dioxide gas will also be produced. This factor forms acid rain. Acid rain could leads to destructions of most of monuments that were made up of brickwork or marbles. Even a lot of crops are affected due to the acidification of loams.
There are many kinds of air pollution. The ones I want to talk about are the ozone, acid rain, carbon monoxide and toxic air contaminants. Ozone is formed when hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide react in sunlight. Therefore, ozone is at its peak during hot summer days. Exposure to high levels of ozone can have serious consequences on your health. It can cause respiratory disease, loss of pulmonary elasticity, and premature aging of our lungs. Next, is acid rain, which occurs in the atmosphere in the form of sulfur and nitrogen oxide. These pollutants can have serious damaging affects on aquatic, forest and wildlife ecosystems, as well as deterioration of buildings. Carbon monoxide is another form of pollution. It reduces the blood?s ability to carry oxygen. If a human is exposed to higher levels, it can cause chest pains, angina attacks or even death.
One of the most dangerous environment issues Southern California is facing today is air pollution. This includes the burning of fossil fuels and natural disasters. Los Angeles is one of the most polluted cities in the world, and the most polluted city in the United States. I will research information about the causes, the effects, and the history of air pollution in the Los Angeles. For my research, I have relied mostly on, the school’s database and library, as well as current events.
The carbon in the atmosphere is contributing to the risk of global warming. Another article, “Coal Mine Fires and Human Health: What Do We Know” by S.M Melody and F.H Johnston, explains the negative impacts of coal mine fire on the environment and people's health. Also, in an article named, “Air Pollution” by Chris Woodford, the issue of air pollution is explained. Woodford writes that air pollution is caused by both human activities and some are naturally occurring. Human ignorance is the cause of environmental issues such as deforestation, air pollution, and natural diversity being wiped out.
Air pollution is caused by many things such as car fumes, burning of fossil fuels,
Air pollution according to the Wikipedia << is the introduction of particulates, biological materials, or other harmful materials into the Earth’s atmosphere, possibly causing disease, death to humans, damage to other living organisms such as food crops, or the natural or built environment>>. Therefore, human being should be aware of the facts that the environment and all living creatures are dying. They need to understand the importance of natural items, the nature, etc…
From the 1900’s, the Industrial Revolution saw the large-scale use of fossil fuels for industrial activities. Therefore, they created many jobs for the people. And many people moved from rural areas to cities, making the excessive cutting down of trees so as to create an area for settlement and area of construction of industries. Natural resources are being used extensively for construction, industries, transport, and consumption. All this has contributed to the rises of greenhouse gases such as methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. Where as the industries operated by man and the vehicles used imply the use of fossil fuels. And the burning of fossil fuels causes the production of these harmful gases that lead to the depletion of the ozone layer. As the ozone layer is depleted the increase of global temperature known as global warming.
Every other day a new industries are being set up, new vehicles on roads and trees are being cut to make way for new homes. All of them, indirect way lead to increase in CO2 leads to melting of polar ice caps which increase the sea level and pose danger for the people living near coastal areas. Pollution can have an impact in our health not only affects people with impaired respiratory system such as asthmatics, but very healthy adults and children too. Exposure to pollution for 6 to 7 hours, even at relatively low concentrations, reduces lung function and induces respiratory inflammation and, healthy people during periods of moderate
Air pollution is a type of pollution that can severely damage our environment as well as the earth’s atmosphere. Air pollution occurs all the time when the air contains many substances ...
Trees are one of the most important parts of the biosphere. They provide oxygen, which is one of the largest producers of life. Humans live and strive off of oxygen every second of their lives. Not just humans need oxygen to survive and thrive on Earth, but animals, and other creatures on the planet do as well. Trees are a huge part of all life and if they were gone, there would consequently be no form of life. Not only do trees create all forms of life, but they create beautiful surroundings for an area and create a comfortable and shady environment for all surrounding life. Even though trees seem to be everywhere you look, the planet is losing billions upon billions of them a year. Anywhere from three billion to six billion trees are lost every year, ("How Many Trees Are Cut Down Every Year? Rainforest Action Network Blog. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Apr. 2014”). With this fact in thought, it shows that planting one tree can create a bigger difference than you realize.
...ocess helps reducing the loss of a large variety of species which is one of the biggest environmental concerns. Many of the vegetables travel in materials such as plastic and cardboard, by the time they arrive at the grocery store they absorb unwanted material and may lose nutrients. Growing your own vegetable garden benefit the environment by reducing the carbon emission and waste created by shipping and packaging vegetables. Environmental benefits of gardens include increasing previous surfaces and allowing for groundwater recharge, improving air quality through the addition of plants to the landscape, beautifying the environment and promoting sustainability. Of course, there are potentially negative environmental impacts associated with gardening the use of power tools uses energy, and water use is rising every year therefor we have to use wells and solar systems.
