The environment has changed since the boys arrived on the island where has no civilization. In order to live by themselves, it is the savagery and evil inside of the boys and how they have let go from their civilized ways and have become these unrecognizable beasts whose definition of ‘fun’ is killing the only person who is sane. ‘On the beach behind him was a cutter, her bows hauled up and held by two ratings.
