Working toward something is always a struggle because I believe without struggle there would not be any success. Success comes to those that are working tremendously hard and those that do not give up when everybody else does. Reaching a short or long-term goal required dedication, determination, and the sacrifice of giving up one thing for another thing. The same rule applies in education, in English 102, the writing and research that I did and also the revision process that I went through helped me to gain more knowledge and understand more of “academic writing and research”. English 102 was a new challenge for me, previous classes were not as challenging as English 102 because of the complexity that it presented to me as a student. Writing and presenting inquiry writing and academic research was a new experience for me and it was a challenging task. With this new challenge, I seek for help through the instructor, friends, peer reviews and family members. A good way for me to engage with my readers in my research papers was I tried to focus on how clear I am communicating with the reader and how I am creating conversations between sources. Getting feedback from classmates was a very helpful strategy because I was able to see their views and perspectives on my paper. It gave me a way to understand how my audiences read and interpreted my paper. Some helpful feedback from my peers were:
How do all your sources connect with each other? You could expand or work new ideas off of what you feel/think? What more could you say about these statistics? You should input more of your own voice. You should cite more scholarly sources to strengthen the attention and overview. Awesome job on finding good sources.
With these feedbacks, I know where the weakness and strongest place in my paper and I was able to make changes to my paper. I used the feedback to improve my paper from an okay paper to a good paper and I was able to communicate my own interest and experience into the
