During this first/semester of college I found English 101 a lot different from English in high school. In high school, English was more reading based, and college was my writing based. I tend to favor writing more because I really despise reading. Since English 101 is more writing based, I feel like I did improve on my writing skills a bit because I learned topics like rhetorical analysis and rhetorical situations in a more in depth way. Since I did not practice writing as much in high school, I think my writing skills weren’t very polished because I didn’t have much practice before college.
