Considering I am close to my parents, the way that I chose my important personal traits was by selecting features that if omitted, would make interacting with my mom and dad more challenging. I selected trust and respect for my vital personal traits, for my chief professional traits I selected diligence and responsibility. I start by explaining what these characteristics consist of, provide an example of how I exhibit these traits, and how they relate to society. Lastly, I compare trust with the other three traits, address any conflicts that exist when applying these traits, and suggest some ways to solve these conflicts.
I believe trust consists of three factors. The first is that an individual should try their best to keep a promise. This is important because a broken promise could jeopardize friendship, trust, or reputation. The second is that one should also aspire to be truthful. Truthfulness is important because it gives me a sense of security that I am telling the truth and not getting reprimanded for telling a lie. Those that are told the truth are also given a sense of security because they feel like they are worth being told what is true. The third factor is that an individual should be considerate of others privacy. This is important because it allows people’s confidential information to remain undisclosed. I demonstrated truthfulness at a south Texas PGA junior golf tournament some years ago. I was checking my score with my opponent whom was also my scorekeeper. I noticed that he had made a mistake when he had written a stroke less than what I really made on one of the holes. I let him now about this error and he corrected it. I ended up finishing second place in that tournament missing first place by three strokes. ...

...a work environment, this process can be facilitated by giving workers an incentive to complete an accountability and responsibility workshop. In the workshop one of the factors they would discuss would be the fear associated with admitting one has made an error because of the likelihood of being reprimanded. Instead, individuals would be taught the importance of admitting wrongdoings as soon as possible. This is because not doing anything while the problem remains unsolved is only making matters worse.
In conclusion my four key traits necessary for me to live a good life are trust, respect, diligence and responsibility. Trust means being truthful, keeping promises, and keeping confidential information undisclosed. Respect means being considerate to others. Diligence means working to the best of one’s ability. And lastly, responsibility means being accountable.
Trust is a trait one should obtain for the people they know are the most honest. To trust someone means to put ones full confidence and reliability on an acquaintance such as someone one is close with. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Brutus, one of the leading characters put his complete trust in the people trying to tell him what he should believe. Brutus joined the conspirators to help take down Julius Caesar because he believed it was what was good for Rome based on what he was deceived. This resulted in the killing of Caesar and the death of himself and others. Not considering the right kind of trust in someone can lead to very troubling things. Cassius told a lie as if it was a truth so Brutus
Too many people have too much distance between what is public and what is private. Total honesty is an incredible thing. When children are small they are often taught that withholding the truth is another form of lying, yet grown men and women do it every day. Behaving one way in public and another way in private weakens and cheapens public life and private life. When a person keeps things from their coworkers and peers, their coworkers and peers are being denied the total package. How can trust come from that? When that same person saves a part of him or herself for select individuals, those ind...
“Most people in the U.S. want to do the right thing, and they want others to do the right thing. Thus, reputation and trust are important to pretty much everyone individuals and organizations. However, individuals do have different values, attributes, and priorities that guide their decisions and behavior. Taken to an extreme, almost any personal value, attribute, or priority can “cause” an ethical breach (e.g. risk taking, love of money or sta...
...uineness, and a sense of duty in relationships with other people. Ultimately, I take those three traits very seriously by trying to fulfill my duty to the fullest potential. Lastly, being twenty-four, I am between the stages of overcoming and distinguishing my identity crisis and beginning to enter young adulthood. Getting ready to graduate college this semester and joining the military, I am starting to establish my independence from my parents and entering autonomously as a mature, responsible adult. I plan to serve a term in the military, apply for a federal law enforcement profession, and start my own family.
Honesty is also very important as honesty and trust are one of the many fundamental principles
Each of the traits listed above work together to make my personality type. Along with that is a temperament, in my case an Idealist – Counselor (www.personalitypage.com). In my opinion the feeling and judging would be the two biggest components of that temperament. Feeling gives me empathy towards others and the desire to help give everyone a peaceful place to work. I want us all to be successful, because that’s when I feel the most fulfilled as well. Interesting personal applicationInteresting personal application
Which of the seven attributes do you feel is the most essential and why? Determine and support your choice in a clear and concise manner.
trust is related to integrity. Integrity is defined as “ the quality of being honest and having strong
In conclusion I have shown that trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair. It takes a lot of truths to gain trust, but it only takes one lie to lose it all. Throughout my lifetime I have been affected by my friends, family, and loved ones dealing with trust and what it means. Defining trust has made me more wise and open my eyes to the fact that trust is earned and not given, and very easy to lose. I am someone who wants to be trusted and able to trust others, so defining trust has made it easy for me to get past a broken trust, hope for the better, allow time for change, and let trustworthiness show.
Engineering is a professional career and thus much is expected out of them. Morals and values must be incorporated into the work of an engineer based on his/her own believes and those of the company. In today’s age, money speaks. Profit is a huge concern of companies even to the point where violations and infractions of the law are committed. Just to name a few immoral acts in engineering include: plagiarism, bribery, and whistleblowing. Whistleblowing can be either good or bad. It could save lives, but could also get one fired. Bribery, however, is a very deceptive act and can lead to actions being taken that otherwise would not have been. Bribery breaks many of the cannons in the NSPE Code of Ethics and thus should be taken seriously.
Being honest and having a reputation of never lying makes people trust them more. People are more likely to come up to a person who tells the truth and ask them a question. They are more likely to get the right answer and not a lie. People who tell the truth are more respected and aren't looked down at for being a liar. People can be trusted more when they constantly tell the truth. When they ask if they can go out and do something, they are more likely to be able to because others trust them and they don't have to worry.
Good relationships require trust. I once heard a quote that said, “Trust is like a mirror, once it’s broken, it can’t be fixed.” Having trust in someone is important. If the person you’re in a relationship with says they are going to the store, you trust that they are going to the store and not to another place. When a relationship has trust, the relationship is stronger and better. Honesty is part of having trust because it plays a huge role in
Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something; confidence or faith in a person or thing, or in an attribute of a person or thing (OED). Integrity is the moral principle. Honesty is an important value because it adds to a positive outlook and encourages the ethical adequate conduct. Honesty helps with the development of trust. When the development of trust occurs, it will make others feel more secure in the person they are putting their trust in. That security will make them feel more comfortable to come to the person when they are having any type of
When people are honest then no one could accuse them of dishonesty. People will believe them to keep their secrets or any important information. Others will spread one’s honesty, and soon enough everyone will know whom they can trust. No one would doubt someone who has only been honest. Since someone who is purely honest is hard to come by. Honesty comes with many prizes, one being honest will earn people’s trust. They could be a really important part of society. People will ask them for their advice on every matter, because they know that person will not provide wrong information. One honestly will help them. Since people can trust one because one does not lie. One can rest peacefully knowing everyone trusts them.
