Statement of Purpose
My research interests stem from the fact that engineering mechanisms and concepts have always fascinated me and urged me to explore the mechanical world. Every part of this technology rich world is made up of elements which come under the roof of mechanical engineering. My intent has been clear right from my first year of under graduation and it was to do research and specialise in the field of automotive engineering. My first leap towards this goal was my preference to do mechanical engineering in one of India’s top rated private universities. It awes me when I see engineers with grease all over the body, though for many it may seem weird. The reason behind opting for mechanical engineering during my under graduation is that it is the base for various other engineering like Aeronautical, manufacturing, Automotive, etc. and it will help me widen my horizon. So after my under graduation I would like to pursue my masters in Mechanical Engineering at your esteemed institution which is well known for its mechanical engineering program.
The aspiration to do Masters in Engineering is because of my passion towards engineering and my inspirational parents. They taught me that hard work is the shibboleth for success and let me live my life in my own way. They support and guide me in every walk of life and encourage me to pursue what I want.
My under graduation in Mechanical Engineering enlightened me with various important concepts from Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, IC engines, Design Of Transmission Systems and Manufacturing Technology. I would also feel proud and blessed if I get a chance to work under Professor Ahmet Selamet who is known for his interests in Internal Combustion Engines, Combustion and Heat Transfer. His current experimental studies to understand the unsteady physics in induction and emission systems and to improve engine performance have inspired me to work under him. With the University’s Centre for Automotive Research, it gives me immense confidence and pleasure to say that being a part of the MS Mechanical Engineering program can fulfill my dreams and ambitions. The Flow, Engine & Acoustics Research laboratory and Gear & Power Transmission Laboratory are a real boon for students with interests as mine. I am confident that my research interests in IC engines and Thermal sciences would complement the university’s research areas related to propulsion systems.
Since my first visit at the Air Force Academy as a young boy, I instantly realized this is where I want to go. Ironically, I never why I wanted to go, was it my parents will or the expectations of others and myself? As I started to mature and grow, I learned more about the academy and what it really meant to become a cadet. The opportunity to have a world class education pushed me to pursue acceptance to the Academy. Going to the Summer Seminar will give me a chance to explore many aspects of cadet life to further enrich my interest in the Academy.

I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
Did you know there are thousands of jobs for a mechanical engineer, and the career will be unhurt by the struggling of the economy? There are many tasks a mechanical engineer is faced with on a daily basis. A mechanical engineer must have several qualities to make the work enjoyable for themselves and others. A mechanical engineer must be well qualified in their education to receive a job, as it is a broad industry. With having a job or career as a mechanical engineer you rarely have to worry if your job is going to exist the next day, or if your pay is going to get cut; a mechanical engineer is needed everywhere. I believe that the broad overview gained during my undergraduate studies can be consummated only by the in-depth study that a Graduate study will entail. My field of interest being highly application oriented offers tremendous scope for development. Graduate study would give me frontline exposure to the technological advances made in this field and allow me to contribute to its immense development. The size, quality and diversity of the subject offer me a broader range of related areas that I could specialize in. With the kind of curricular that your institute offers, I can constantly be evaluated and updated and thereby improve my whole understanding and application of the subject. I would like to get an in-depth knowledge on this as it could be of immense use back here in India.

Right from my school days, I have always shown a high degree of competence and interest in subjects like Mathematics and Science.
