Energy sources of the Future

“We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment”- Margaret Mead. As the world’s population rapidly grows, alternative energy sources are essential to the vigor of our environment. Coal, oil, and natural gas are the most used sources of energy today. But according to Energy News “Our current rate of fossil fuel usage will lead to an energy crisis this century. In order to survive the energy crisis, many companies in the energy industry are inventing new ways to extract energy from renewable sources.” The future vitality of the environment will be derived from wind power, geothermal energy, biomass, nuclear energy, solar energy and the most important source: hydropower. These renewable sources are crucial to the nourishment of the environment since they are less harmful and they are constantly replenished without running out.
The first widely used renewable source of energy is wind power. This energy source is created by wind turbines that convert the speed of the wind into electricity and mechanical energy. The speed of the turbine affects the amount of energy that is produced. As the turbine moves faster, more energy is produced. About 1.5% of the world’s energy is derived from wind power, but that number is expected to increase in the future (Frater, “Top 10 Renewable Energy Sources”). Wind power turbines that are placed in large open areas have the least environmental impact. An example of a wind power farm would be the San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm in Riverside County, California.
Geothermal energy and biomass are the next two efficient renewable energy sources. Scientists generate geothermal energy by digging beneath the earth’s crust and using that heat to produce energy. This form of energy costs little to extract, ...

... if you compare the advantages and disadvantages, hydropower is the best form of renewable energy.
Renewable energy sources are the best way to generate electricity because they create little harm to the environment. If wind power, geothermal energy, biomass, nuclear energy, solar energy and hydropower are continuously improved and used throughout the world then there will be absolutely no reliance on fossil fuels in the future.
