Ender's Game Book Report

Enders Game by Orson Scott Card was a very good book. It was very exiting and always left you wanting more. Enders game takes place in the future when Earth is attacked by aliens known as buggers. If Mazer Rackham had not been defending Earth when the Buggers attacked Earth would have been destroyed by the Buggers a long time ago. 50 years later Earth is still worried of another Bugger attack so Colonel Graff , who is part of the I.F recruits a shy boy named Ender Wiggin. Once ender is recruited he goes onto battle school where he is trained to lead soldiers into a huge battle that will determine the fate of humanity.
This book exiting, intriguing, and very fascinating. It is exciting because as soon as Ender arrived at the battle school

he started moving up the ranks very quickly. His name became renown when he beat an older boy in the gaming room and shocked all the boys around him. Another very good part of the book was when Ender got to take command of his own army called ”Dragon Army” in the battle room. This was fun to read because despite unfair odds Ender always found a way to lead his army to victory and by the time he graduated the Battle School he did not lose one battle. One of the most unfair games was the one against Salamander Army where Ender and his team figured out a way to beat them even though Salamander Army had them surrounded and trapped. This last battle really proved that Ender would be the one to defeat the Buggers once and for all.
Among other things, Enders Game was very fascinating.

The part of the book where this is most evident was when Ender was confronted by Bonzo and six other boys in the shower. This was so fascinating because it demonstrates how Ender used Bonzo's honor to face Ender one on one, and give Ender a fighting chance. But, the most fascinating thing about this part of the book is how fast Ender can think on his feet. Before Bonzo started fighting him Ender covered himself in soap so that Bonzo could not grab or hold onto him. Ender wanted to provoke the attack so he began saying to Bonzo “please don't hurt me,” and “I don't want to fight.”Once Ender said this Bonzo lunged at him. After he did this Ender avoided the attack, and hit Bonzo knocking him down. When he was down, Ender kicked him in the groin and Bonzo laid motionless. After Bonzo was kicked, Ender’s friend Dink came in and rushed him out of the showers. The thing that fascinated me so much about Ender in this fight was the way that he used Bonzo's honor in order to fight him alone. Ender did not want to ever have to fight Bonzo again so he wanted to make Bonzo fear him. He did this by kicking him in the groin when he was down. Ender did this to keep himself from ever getting in a situation like this with Bonzo again. Another part of the book that I found fascinating was how Ender reacted to finding out that he had killed Stilson and Bonzo. He reacted by pretending he was sad because he was only trying to protect

himself. Ender wasn't a killer. After each of those fights, he had said in his head that he hated hurting people. He didn't want to fight anybody. Ender said that he was like Peter and hated himself for it. Since Ender has all these beliefs in his head, it showed me that he really hated violence, but he knew when he needed to use it and how.  Enders Game was also very intriguing from start to finish. It kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next all throughout the book. The most intriguing part was when Ender flew to one of the other planets and after of being there a while comes across the giant's dead body and all of his images from the Mind Game. Once Ender sees these he follows them to the tower from the Mind Game. Once he gets to the tower he looked behind the mirror and finds a pupa of a queen Bugger. The queen shows him the battle from the Buggers point of view and shows him images of what he needs to do in order to rebuild the Bugger civilization. Once Ender had found everything out from the Queen he writes a book called “Speaker of the Dead”. Then Ender sets out on journey in order to find a planet on which to form the new Bugger civilization. This lasted many years, but to Ender it was worth it because he felt terrible for destroying the Buggers home and for killing all of them. The persistence that Ender possessed is what intrigued me the most about him.
My favorite part in this book was when Ender commanded his fleet in the last simulation battle before he graduates, or at least what Ender thinks is his last simulation before he graduates. This part of the book was my favorite because it showed how quickly Ender could react. He knew that if he ordered the drones to circle his flag ship all of his other ships would be destroyed but he could protect the most important ship in his fleet. Another thing that Ender did that really surprised me was that he ordered all of the drones to shoot in the same direction, at the swarm, so he could create a clear shot to destroy the enemy planet and kill all of the queens. But, the thing that really caught my attention was that after Ender found out that he had actually been fighting with real ships in all of the “simulations” and actually destroyed the whole entire Bugger planet, he felt horrible. For a general to feel sympathetic towards the enemy really surprised me.That was the one trait in Ender that I loved the most. He knew how to fight very good but he disliked hurting people.
