different society, but they all have the same ambition—to prove to the world that women can also be leaders. Emma Watson is a worldwide famous actress, who is also a feminist. She is only 26 yeas old, but she has fought for women for many years. She is a representative of all the young girls. She is not only an actress, but also an activist. She has made a lot of effort on women rights. Recently in September 2016, Watson made a speech about the feminist movement on One Young World. At the end of the speech, she pointed out: “I want to offer a few statements of my own that I have struggled with and I continue to struggle with on a daily basis but that I’ve found inspiring. I am willing to be seen. I am willing to speak up. I am willing to …show more content…
She is only 27 years old, but her name is known all over the world. Most importantly, all of her accomplishments are achieved by her own, as an American girl. The official claims: “Her success has made her one of the most powerful people in the music industry, which has long been controlled by men -- and she earned that position mostly thanks to her own savvy”(Armstrong). No matter how vicious the public views are, Taylor doesn’t stop her career. Instead, she changed those comments into part of her songs and fight for herself. She became stronger by ignoring those evil critiques. On her 2016 Grammy Winner Album of the Year Declaration, she said : “I want to say to all the young women out there -- there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be greatest feeling in the world”(Armstrong). These words are so encouraging to girls who feel doubt with themselves during their pursuit of dreams. There should be nothing to worry about because families and people who know you are people who you should care about. And the only thing girls can do to make those people who tried to discourage you is to work hard and be outstanding. In America, there are so many brilliant things you can do, and every field is excellent with the best resources and supports. Girls should choose what they want to do and learn from Taylor to be fearless and
...n our country. She’s saying that the advancement of women is getting stuck between a rock and a hard place. This was such a strong point in her speech because it shed light into the logical thinking, and made a historical connection to slavery. By making this connection, she was able to help many see that women were convicted slaves to the current state of the union.
...me a major feminist voice for women across the country and, still to this day, her influence on our country and our values resonates deeply.
“Women Rights” Hillary Rodham Clinton is a well-recognized woman in the United States. Her great contribution as secretary of State impact people’s lives. One of many remarkable speeches Hillary gave was the “The women rights speech”, in the 4th World Conference on Women Plenary Session where she uses strong words and emotions to appeal the audience. Even though the speech talks about women rights, she wants everyone, including men and children to listen and take action. Her use of ethos, logos and pathos throughout the speech made the audience believe in her words.
I chose Emma Watson’s speech at the UN about feminism because I had previously watched a clip on facebook and it stuck with me. Watson uses arguments to inform and to inspire as well as using all three of pathos, logos, and ethos. In the speech, Watson asks men to understand that gender inequality is their issue as well.
...women has escalated to an all-time high. Hillary Clinton’s speech “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” targets this growing problem and by portraying a purpose, style and language, and different appeals to the audience effectively.
She also got many awards and achievements. According to Encyclopedia of World Biography,“Dolly was the female vocalist of the year in 1975 ,and 1976 ( “Dolly Parton” ). She has many awards, but this is the best one. Two years in a row is accomplishment. That for sure does not happen often. It might have happened a few times though. According to St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture ,“ Dolly also has a Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2011 which increased the number to eight” ( “Dolly Parton”). It is so impressive how she got a lifetime Achievement Award. That does not seem like common thing. But if someone did do that, it would be impressive.Dolly has helped many people and has a entertainment place that is impressive. In 1986, she opened a theme park called “Dollywood” ,and it is located in Tennessee. Also it is very popular today (“ Editors” ). Tennessee seems like the place to be. In 1996, she started a program for reading and writing in her hometown ,and it was called the Imagination Library. This program helps give children at least one book every month from birth to their fifth birthday (“Dolly Parton”). Dolly is such a kind person. She has a lot of great top songs. Dolly got a People’s Choice Award for her song “Here You Come Again” in the year 1980 and 1988 (“Dolly Parton”). She is so talented at singing. After recording her song “Shine” from her album Little Sparrow, Dolly Parton received a Grammy for the best Female country vocal performance ( “Dolly Parton”). She has many awards for her songs, but this is very impressive. That shows a lot of dedication. Everyone has to work for awards like this one and that is what she did. Overall, Dolly had a very successful life with her songs in her career, and the start to her career, also her early life too. She also overcame many challenges to. Dolly is a very inspirational

• AW was active in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s. She has spoken for the women’s movement, the anti-apartheid movement, for the anti-nuclear movement and against female genital mutilation.
During her early life, Hillary Clinton learned that a huge problem across the globe was gender inequality. Women and men were not equal. Men were making more money than women for the same jobs. She believed she could change this. On September 5, 1995 Hillary Clinton gave a speech at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. Clinton uses powerful rhetoric in order to create an air of sympathy for women among her audience. She is hoping to make the world become more aware of the inequalities women face daily while also making them feel ashamed for their previous actions of discriminating women, which would cause them to change their ways. She uses her speech “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” to create awareness of the discrimination
Emma, a novel by Jane Austen, is the story of a young woman, Emma, who is rich, stubborn, conniving, and occupies her time meddling into others' business. There are several recurring themes throughout the novel; the ideas of marriage, social class, women's confinement, and the power of imagination to blind the one from the truth, which all become delineated and reach a climax during the trip to Box Hill. The scene at Box Hill exposes many underlying emotions that have been built up throughout the novel, and sets the stage for the events that conclude it.
Most young people of this society know or heard of a woman named Emma Watson. She is most commonly known for her role of Hermoine Granger in author J.K Rowling’s extremely successful series Harry Potter. At the age of nine years old, she auditioned for the role eight times giving light to her determined and persistent attitude even at such a young age. Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have been obsessed with Taylor Swift. She has been my role model since I was thirteen. When you look at most singers today, they have to be singing about drugs or alcohol, using vulgar language, or performing half-dressed. You never see Taylor Swift doing anything that she would be ashamed of later in life. On the other hand, she has had many relationships that have lasted short time periods. At least, she is not getting married for 72 days or even 24 hours such Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears. This is why I chose to write a research paper on her.
Renowned British actress and activist for the feminist movement, Emma Watson, in her speech to the United Nations, “HeForShe,” argues that gender discrimination is a plague to human civilization. Watson’s purpose is to sway the audience that gender inequality has to come to an end, with the support of men and women as advocates for egalitarianism. Additionally, she enlightens the audience that the problem originated from political affairs, the economy, and social disparity. Watson creates a compassionate tone in order to convey men, specifically those who negatively perceived feminism or did not think that feminist issues affected them. Nevertheless, Watson’s speech is ineffectively persuasive due to the poor description she formulated
The Information revolution is changing our daily lives. With the rapid development of computer and internet, online commerce become quite common and plays an important role in the modern world. The online business has booming development in these few years. US online retail sales raised an average of 11% in the first three months of 2009 (“US Online Sales Up,” 2009). The growth of online sales may due to the growing number of consumers who shop online. In the case of Asia, survey reported 77.6% of Internet users have online shopping experiences in 2003 (as cited in To, Liao & Lin, 2007). Online shopping is very different from traditional shopping. Consumers cannot touch and check the product before purchasing it, which means they are at higher risk of fraud than traditional shopping. Consumers also have other concerns such as credit cards security of online shopping. Then questions should be raised: what is the advantage of online shopping? Why people shop online? In following paragraphs, the advantage of online shopping for the consumer and consumer’s motivation to shop online will be reviewed and discussed.
Whether the views about Taylor Swift are positive or negative, she still has been extremely successful. Not only has she made lots of money because of her hit singles, platinum records and sold out concert tours, but she has also found a unique way to connect with her fans. Taylor Swift is both praised and ridiculed because of her music and the way she perceives certain situations, but the way I see it, there are going to be positive and negative aspects of every form of media. What sets Taylor Swift apart from the rest though, it how handles herself with grace, hard work and determination and I think that is something that everyone should respect and admire.
