With so many young adults having children at a younger age then in pass more cases of child abuse are becoming more frequent. When I hear child abuse the first type of abuse to come mind is physical. Physical child abuse physically harm a child is one of many types of child abuse. The other three common types of child abuse are sexual abuse touching or engaging in inappropriately activity, emotional abuse verbally harming a child emotions, and neglect. Eminem does a great job of breaking down child abuse in his song, When I'm gone. Eminem song, When I’m gone tell a story of a father that is too busy, always working or always putting other people before his daughter. picture and highlighting two types of child abuse emotional and neglect. One way Eminem helps listeners understand abuse is by showing the causes of abuse. One of the main causes of child abuse is stress.
There are also many causes of stress one of them is being too busy. According to Smith articles Stress symptoms signs and causes, being too busy is one of the most common stressors. A stressor is problems or items that may cause stress to a person. Eminem show this in his songs when his daughter was asking for his attention he reply by saying “go play Hailie, baby, your Daddy's busy”. Eminem just like a lot of people was too busy for his child. Many people ‘too busy’ is them working other people ‘too busy’ is them talking on the phone, playing video games, or something of that nature. I too am guilty of this. There have been times when I have been babysitting and was too busy playing the game to realize what the kids were doing. A few minutes of silence from them made me go check on them. When went to go see what they were doing I was shock to find that kids had the whole room covered in baby oil and powder. Being too busy could have cause a lot of harm to the children. They could have gotten into bleach or a harmful substance and seriously hurt themselves. Stress can also lead into depression if left alone. That brings me to my second point that being
depressed causes child abuse. Depression affects many people and in return it causes them to make some bad choices. “ Eminem shows this when he said “I turn around, find a gun on the ground, cock it Put it to my brain, scream "Die Shady!" and pop it”. Eminem was so depressed that he was ready to kill himself. Killing himself is abuse also. Eminem daughter would have to grow up with the thought of her father not loving her enough to stay alive. No child should have to live with that type of emotional abuse of watching her father try to commit suicide. She not only had a suicidal father, but she also had a suicidal mother. She had two suicidal parents. Eminem shows us this when he says “Help mommy her wrist are bleeding”. We see that Eminem wife has tried to commit suicide by slitting her wrist. All of these are cause by stress and depression. According to Carole Jenny book Child Abuse and Neglect: Diagnosis, Treatment and Evidence “Children who have caregivers with depression and substance abuse are more at risk to be abuse”. Depression and substance abuse such as drugs can increase the chances of a child being abuse. Eminem shows us substance abuse in the song when he says “these fucking walls must be talking because man I can hear them”.
Child neglect and abuse is an unfortunate reality for many children today. It can have significant developmental impacts on children until they are an adult. Unfortunately it is not noticed until the damage is already done. Parents are the ones that are supposed to take care of their child. The consequences of a child getting mistreated young may endure long after the neglect occurs. People having children and not ready to be parents. Scaring the child for life because they decided that is was fun to beat on their child and abuse them mentally, and some even sexually. The effects can appear in all aspects of life, rather it is psychological or behavioral. There are three main effects of neglect and abuse that can range from minor physical injuries, not getting along with others, or can become aggressive and affect them later on in life.

Child abuse is the physical, sexual, or emotional mistreatment, or neglect of a child. It can be detrimental to one’s daily life, affecting not only the abused child, but also those who are associated with the child. It can have lasting effects that may carry over to adulthood and cause potential issues with relationships or perhaps within their own families as well. It is important that we learn to recognize the signs of child abuse and neglect so that we can save the lives and future of our children. Life is full of obstacles and has shown people that stress is very common and a part of life. When you are running around all the time like you are in an emergency mode, your body will pay the price. Without stress, our lives would be boring and pointless.
We’ll start with child abuse victims and the affects and reasons of this abuse. There are four types of child abuse and I will list them in order from least to greatest, neglect, physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Neglect takes first with the NCVS having 54% reports of child neglect in 2007. Neglect is a very serious form of abuse it is the failure for a parent or guardian to provide for a child’s basic needs, including physical and educational needs. We grow and development drastically in the first twelve years of our life so when parental guidance and love is absent it affects a child’s developmental skills along with learning right from wrong. Many forms of neglect occur in larger households and with households with domestic violence. Many parents with multiple kids become too busy focusing on the older children they tend to forget the youngest one. So it’s common for a three year old to walk out of the front door and on to the street when no one is there to tell him or...

Stress is defined in the dictionary as “state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life”. Everyone encounters stress in their life caused by many different variables in life and we all cope with in different ways. The way one copes with the stress is how it can affect our body. Some take to working out, eating healthy, take breaks from what is stressing you out and getting plenty of sleep which are good ways to cope with it. Some take to other coping mechanisms that are not very great for the body. Some examples are stress eating, abuse of drugs and alcohol, bottling up the stress, and depression. These bad methods can cause serious damage to one’s health on the body.
Changes, such as sudden trauma, several big crises, or many small daily hassles, cause stress. Intense stress years earlier, especially in childhood, can predispose us to over-react to current stress. Events, such as barriers and conflicts that prevent the changes and goals we want, create stress. Having little control over our lives, e.g. being "on the assembly line" instead of the boss, contrary to popular belief, often increases stress and illness. Many environmental factors, including excessive or impossible demands, noise, boring or lonely work, stupid rules, unpleasant people, etc., cause stress. Conflicts in our interpersonal relationships cause stress directly and can eventually cause anxieties and emotional disorders.
Stress is the combination of psychological, physiological, and behavioral reactions that people have in response to events that threaten or challenge them. Stress can be good or bad. Sometimes, stress is helpful, providing people with the extra energy or alertness they need. Stress could give a runner the edge he or she needs to persevere in a marathon, for example. This good kind of stress is called eustress. Unfortunately, stress is often not helpful and can even be harmful when not managed effectively. Stress could make a salesperson buckle under the pressure while trying to make a sales pitch at an important business meeting, for example. Moreover, stress can increase the risk of developing health problems, such as cardiovascular disease and anxiety disorders. This bad kind of stress is called distress, the kind of stress that people usually are referring to when they use the word stress.

Child abuse is a very serious issue, that I believe has been neglected and we as a society haven’t done enough to protect these children. In this essay I will be speaking about what child abuse is; I will discuss physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I will also cover the affects that children endure due to child abuse.
