We don’t often reflect back on our life, the person we have become and what the future holds for us. It is only then we become aware of our flaws, and are given a choice to fix or ignore them. Change is an extremely important part of life; in fact, most people would argue that it is the definition of life. People become stagnant and do not grow into their lives if they do not embrace change. Recognizing what needs to be done, reflecting back on our lives and accepting the faults that welcome change, is probably the hardest part, but certainly not without its virtues. It takes willingness to re-invent ourselves. People usually bring change in their lives by quitting something they like to do that might be considered to be morally wrong by the society. Some people prefer change in their lives, while others don’t. Most of them are perfectly satisfied with how they act and behave, and prefer not to be bothered by people who try to bring a change in their lives. However, I disagree with them; as I experienced such a phase in my life, where I had to let go of everything I wanted to win bac...
In Jake Reinvented, Jake makes a great example of what can happen when you try to change for someone or something in life. When you try to cover up your past by saying you were a great football player and liked to party when in all reality you changed yourself for a girl who couldn’t even take the blame for hitting Nelson with a champagne bottle and making Jake get something that he didn’t even do is changing your world to try and impress others, when you should of just been yourself and stick with what you’re good with instead of changing, even if it means you’re mentoring students or part of the chess club or in love with dragons and dungeons, don’t change yourself to be somebody you think you can be because it isn’t worth the failure your setting yourself up for.

Persevering against an old self, that self people are trying to change, will help them achieve their goals.
Change is good." We hear the catchy phrase everywhere. From company slogans to motivational speeches, our world seems to impose this idea that change is always a good thing. Assuming that the change is for the better, it is probably a true statement in most cases. The root of this idea seems to come from the notion that we are dissatisfied with the state that we are in, so, in order to create a more enjoyable surrounding, we adjust. Others, however, stray from this practice, and instead of trying to adapt to the people around them, they try and change others.
From our first breath to our last, every person on Earth is in a perpetual state of change. Some of this change is physical, some of it is mental, and all of it is important. One of the most obvious instances of human change is seen throughout adolescence. During this time, both our bodies and our minds change very rapidly, nearly transforming us into completely different versions of ourselves. While it is true that this period of the human life does contains the largest amount of both physical and mental change, it should not be thought of as the only time in our life where change is acceptable. At any other time, though, change is usually looked at as negative. In many texts, when an adult changes, they are usually viewed as fickle or even
Many people are resistant to change. They become comfortable with their lives and don’t dare to venture outside of the box.
"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often" (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/topics/topic_change.html), this quote by Winston Churchill is something I can connect with as I often feel the need to improve myself which can only be done with change. It also relates to the protagonist, Sanger Rainsford, of the short story, "The Most Dangerous Game," by Richard Connell. Sanger Rainsford changes his views on some matters after being trapped on an island with a madman with no method of escape. He undergoes a major change in his character due to an awful experience in isolation with the psychopath, General

Change is a word that I have constantly heard throughout my high school years. It is a transformation through which everyone goes whether it's for the better or for the worse. For me the meaning and value of change has helped me to focus on the goals I have to accomplish. For others, it is simply just a phase we go through. All of us here have been able to learn and develop from our changes to be come a better and successful person.
A personal change I would like to make is my approach and the response I display to my teammates and the organization. I am a very independent person at work, I tend to be a controlling person in every aspect. However, I am trying to overcome this debilitating trait by learning new techniques and reflecting on the other person’s ideas, comments, efforts and suggestions without taking control. I do complete my task with little or no assistance, but it causes me to be detached, indifferent, and uninvolved from my teammates causing conflicting issues. I do sense a distance between myself and my teammates, but I continue to work hard and remain focus.
This theory demonstrates that people can change over the course of their life-time from the data that backs it up. In this theory, changing one’s behavior is a process that someone wants to do due to relationships encountered with people over their lifetimes. It is a rational theory that shows when new bonds are formed, people can adapt to change and lead a conforming lifestyle in society.
Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny”.
This leads to the question of, “How do people change?” Self-awareness of one’s current plight, whether it is internally or externally, and an intense desire to discover new ways of living are two main ingredients to spur change. People must be fully aware that their current behavior is causing more harm than good in their lives. And on the same token, discovering that there are alternative ways of living can also make people change. However, in order for change to actually occur, people must be willing to live out new ways of behaving and thinking. For people who want to make changes, but find it difficult to make a step, a counselor can help facilitate change through encouragement and various self-empowering
It was not too long before I discovered the faults in my erroneous living. I finally realized, and truly not a moment too soon, that if I did not start living for the present, my future would soon become my neglected present. I would have wasted my life doing meaningless things and I would have no experience to share with anyone who may be interested in the uneventful life I had led. After I came to this startling revelation, I grew even more apathetic in my depression. I truly felt that there was nothing I could do to remedy this situation and was at a total loss for solutions. Soon enough, though, I concluded that there was no alternative to hard work to change the current state of affairs in my life. It was then that I truly embarked on the most difficult journey of my life thus far. This being the journey of self-alteration and successfully changing my own behavioral patterns.
