All around the world, from the roots of Africa, to the Irish clogging, all the way up to the Jarabe Tapatío to the Folk dance of the Han Chinese, music has been impactful to and for everyone. Without those who compose music and play musical instruments, and go on to become famous musicians and composers, we wouldn’t have all the music that we have now. Before you get confused about the difference between a composer and a musician, a composer is someone who creates music whereas a musician is someone who plays a musical instrument or who may be musically talented, but we’re only going to focus on the musician part. They were a dominant influence in the music industry and created a genre that would live on forever. Technically they were the creators of heavy metal. Looking from back then to know, you can see that heavy metal has both expanded and changed from what it used to be. Heavy metal may not be as popular anymore due to a different type of genre, but we haven’t forgotten about it.
Elvis Presley, born 1935-1977, was an American singer, musician and actor. He was known as the “King of Rock & Roll.” He impacted the music industry and changed the course of it. He mixed in both white and black sounds which made him even more popular. Known for using a fusion of country, rhythm, and blues, all while using an up-tempo.
