Elvis Presley's Impact On The Music Industry

All around the world, from the roots of Africa, to the Irish clogging, all the way up to the Jarabe Tapatío to the Folk dance of the Han Chinese, music has been impactful to and for everyone. Without those who compose music and play musical instruments, and go on to become famous musicians and composers, we wouldn’t have all the music that we have now. Before you get confused about the difference between a composer and a musician, a composer is someone who creates music whereas a musician is someone who plays a musical instrument or who may be musically talented, but we’re only going to focus on the musician part. How did famous musicians impact us? That’s what we are here to find out.

Because music has been around for so long, we

can’t say when it actually began. We can use evidence in cave paintings that depict people dancing to prove that music has been around for a long time. Taking a look at African culture, we can see that they were very diverse. Their musical styles were very diverse and its people idolized how diverse it was and how well it was shaped and formed to become what it is today. Music acts as a mode of communication. It expresses emotions and helps express how you may feel or your passions for things. Africa started out with drums and basically bringing out rhythm. Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, is a South African hip-hop artist who first noticed on the music scene in 2002. Another famous musician from Africa is Nigerian pop singer, Yemi Alade, who took the music world by storm after winning the maiden edition of the Peak Talent Show in 2009.
The impact AKA made was that it made people in other countries could be able to rap and sing in English and not be held down to a certain standard and not be able to just be themselves. He made it so that people would feel like they could rap and sing and do all things that people who weren’t from their country could do. African music helped shaped the whole music industry. Branching off from jazz, blues, rock n’ roll, etc., all borrow the rhythm, style, and sounds of traditional African music. Since Africa was known for having drums and dances, they somewhat started the music industry, people learned to branch off of it and improvise and just grow to create different genres of music.
Branching off from the traditional African music and moving to rock and roll. Bill Haley & His Comets was an American Rock & Roll band that was founded in 1952. The band impacted America by being one of the earliest groups made up of white musicians to bring rock & roll to America and the rest of the world. The band leader for that group, Bill Haley, was originally a western performer but recorded a song that mixed in both rhythm and blues to create rock & roll which changed the course of the music industry.
Another group, The Supremes, was very impactful on the music industry. Branching away from rock and roll, the Supremes opened up a gate for all the future black souls and all the R&B acts to come through. It helped shine light on African Americans and helped with them believing they can be successful too. The Supremes was a very successful group too. They worked hard and dedicated their time and efforts to become successful. They earned their place of being both successful and famous.
Musician Bob Dylan was another famous musician who impacted the music industry. He was more than just a musician. He was also an author and a poet. His most famous work, “Blowin’ in the Wind’ and ‘The Times They are A’ Changing” impacted everyone during the civil rights movement. It gave them hope and raised their spirits.
Bands like Black Sabbath, a famous band, brought out the heavy metal in us.

They were a dominant influence in the music industry and created a genre that would live on forever. Technically they were the creators of heavy metal. Looking from back then to know, you can see that heavy metal has both expanded and changed from what it used to be. Heavy metal may not be as popular anymore due to a different type of genre, but we haven’t forgotten about it.

Elvis Presley, born 1935-1977, was an American singer, musician and actor. He was known as the “King of Rock & Roll.” He impacted the music industry and changed the course of it. He mixed in both white and black sounds which made him even more popular. Known for using a fusion of country, rhythm, and blues, all while using an up-tempo. Their innovative music and culture defined the 1960s. They also had an influence on pop culture which can still be seen today. They were truly an influence on our music

George Clinton was considered the most sampled musician ever. George was an American musician and the principal of architect of P-Funk. They called him the mastermind of the bands ‘Parliament’ and “Funkadelic.” He was “The Prime Minister of Funk.” He’d been given other names because of what he had done in his music career. After his career died down, he began to get sampled by other rappers and was considered influential for other upcoming rappers. He began to resurge making him the most sampled artist.
