Dear cousin Catherine,

I was with Mother and Father one afternoon when I told them I wanted to be Protestant.

"What do you mean you want to be Protestant?!" Father said.

"You were raised Catholic!" Mother followed.

"This is what I want. Why can't you support me?!" I replied. Father paced the floor.

"If this is what you really want, then you should have no problem leaving this house...for good." He said. I gasped.

"You can't possibly be serious!" I said astonished.

"I most certainly am," he said with complete confidence surprising me.
