“Night”, by Elie Wiesel, is a memoir of Wiesel's experience in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. “Night” is well written, and a good resource for teenagers and adults who are reading about the Holocaust for the first time. my opinion night overall was a good book because it was a first hand book based on experience. It was a short book but the message was clear and the writing was understandable. This book was a story that the world should never forget about. The book was being told by Eliezer, a 14-year old Jewish boy living in Sighet, which was a town in Transylvania. His language was meant for us to understand the hardships of his experiences and the tone of his language made it easy for readers to draw a pictured image of what he was explaining throughout the book. He used so much literary devices that makes it understandable for many age and grade levels to read and have the understanding of the book. This story is unforgettable because Elie was struggling to survive against beatings, starvation, mental and physical abuse, Elie begins to question why is God creating this horrible destruction on his family and many others. Wiesel fights a battle between his dark side and a desperate situation; He feels conflict between supporting his weakening father. Knowing that his father is dying, he struggles to decide whether or not to give himself the best chance to survive. Readers can learn that between the two years of 1944 to 1945, was unbelievably hard for Jewish people. Rationing portions of food because you didn’t know when the Germans would bring more food is sickening. German soldiers not only killed adults and children, but they kill babies. Innocent little babies that have not done any harm to anyone. Everything that took place has left a tragic spot in my heart. Readers should know that not giving up is always the answer. In order for you to understand why, you must figure out how to make it through. Many times there will be feelings of defeat but put them behind and continue
