Ever since its discovery, electricity has played a major role in many aspects of human life in a positive and negative way. For instance, the availability of cheap electricity has positively influenced different facets of human life. However, the generation of electricity has also caused a negative impact on the environment.
The availability of cheap electricity brings many benefits for humans in many ways. In homes and offices, electricity has helped humans in working and doing activities. Computers, televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators and internet are just a few and important things that rely on electricity. Without electricity, humans cannot access the internet, work using a computer, watch television shows, and many more, which proves that electricity is very important in homes and offices.
Industries also rely heavily on electricity. Most machines in an industry can only operate with the supply of electricity. If machines are not used, the productivity of that industry will decrease, this may eventually led to the bankruptcy of that industry. Therefore, electricity is needed in industries.
The use of fossil fuels in transportation can be replaced by electricity. Currently, scientists and manufacturers have been developing electric cars for the future as a result of the pollution caused by most cars. The idea of using electricity for transportations is great because unlike fossil fuels, electricity can be obtained from non-renewable sources such as sun. Electricity can also be applied for health care. For instance, the treatment of patients with kidney disease can be done by using hemodialysis machine. This machine needs electricity in order to filter the patient’s blood.
Electricity brings some uses in agriculture...

...ion of the environment due to depletion of resources such as water, land and air. Only 2.5 percent of water in the world (including rivers) is available for human use. For example, if industries directly dispose the industrial wastes into the river, the river will be polluted, thus the amount of fresh water in the world decreases, this leads to water deterioration. Water deterioration contributes the most in the degradation of environment. Finally, it can be concluded that electricity brings negative impact to the environment.
In conclusion, electricity has brought many benefits for human in homes and offices, industries, transportation, and many more. Yet it also brings some negative impacts on the environment. Nonetheless, regardless of the positive and negative impacts, electricity proved to be reliable and have a large portion in different facets of human life.
Today, having power is what everybody in this country relies on day to day and couldn't function without it. Every year more and more dams are being built and more man made reservoirs are being created to provide this electricity needed. These dams are very important in my eyes but Edward Abbey carries a different opinion in his writing "The Damnation of a Canyon."
We are dependent on energy for almost everything in our lives. When the outside temperature rises a little, we immediately switch on the air conditioner to keep our house cool. This is using up of energy. We have starting taking things for granted and we have started wasting energy unnecessarily. Energy is limited and hence to maintain the quality of life, it is important that we use our energy resources wisely. If we do not conserve energy, the energy will exhaust and we will have nothing to use.
People today have been over powered with 21st Century technology. Now-a-days people don’t have enough energy just because of the new technology. Let’s go back in time and think about eye-catching inventions in the old times and how it changed the world and everyday life. The telephone! Imagine, a world without smartphones but only speed-dial phones. Yes, those are the kinds of phones that are very popular long ago but the question is “How does the new invention change our daily lives?” For one thing, it would take you about 3-5 minutes just to make a phone call an plus, it is not at all portable. Mainly, telephones back then are way different from telephones today.
Californians depend on electricity. It powers everything from the phone we use to the freezer that stores goods at the local grocery store. Electricity is part of the infrastructure of California, similar in nature to water supply and food supply. Without the electrical grid system, urbanized society will not function. Electricity is a commodity and a necessity. However, recent failures in power supply due to man-made errors and harsh weather question the stability of the power system.
...management than scarcity of that resource. In some cases up to 50% water in urban areas, and 60% of the water used for agriculture is wasted through evaporation and loss. Logging and land conversion to yield to the demands of human beings have been reduced to half the world's forests, which has increased soil erosion and water scarcity.
I conclude that it is quite urgent to change our way of living. I need to take responsibility - use less electricity and find more solutions to save our world. If I don’t want to suffer then I need to take some action and need to change my habits for future generations.

mental degradation. The mass production of goods, in manufacturing industries, more so has led to a lot of pollutants being released into the atmosphere. These pollutants continue to degrade the environment. There are several forms of pollutions that continue to be heavily experienced as a result of the activities of Multi-National Corporations. The two most adverse types of pollution are water pollution and air pollution. They affect a lot of the systems that are in play.
The electric use will not give off pollution that is unhealthy for the environment and its
Electricity production accounts for more than one-third of U.S. global warming emissions, with the majority generated by coal-fired power plants... In contrast, most renewable energy sources produce little to no global warming emissions (“Benefits of Renewable Energy Use”). Coal mining and lumber harvesting would also be reduced by the switch, which in turn would improve the forest and ecosystem surrounding these power plants. Animals will also benefit from the change to clean energy. It is often reported that animals are constantly displaced and injured by the different forms of energy we are using currently. Andrew B. Gill preformed a study and wrote a journal article on the conservation of wildlife and their habitats; the results of his study were conclusive that something needs to be done to change the current state of our energy
The manner by which the environment is being harmed is much different now than it was in the 1400's. Production byproducts rather than the actual production are the cause of current environmental degradation. However, economic analysis has proven that environmental protection is a normal good. A normal good or service in economic terms means that the demand for such items increases as income increases. As such, for the sake of the poor as well as the environment, policy makers with the aim of environmental protection should also consider their effects on the resulting, generally decreased level of production.
According to World WildLife Fund, many ecosystems around the world are being destroyed, eliminating many plant and animal species that inhabit them (“Pollution”). 2. And acid rain, which is created when water in the atmosphere mixes with chemicals, ravage through rain forests and can even kill fish. 3.
It is the reason for the great technological movement of the 21st century. Its applications are used on a day-to-day basis. What is this form of energy? It is electricity. Electricity is defined as a form of energy from the existence of charged particles. The charged particles are either positive or negative (protons or electrons). Moreover, through the same principal, the phenomenon of magnetism is also applied on a day-to-day basis. Magnetism is defined as either an attractive or repulsive force between objects due to an electric charge. To thoroughly understand the strength of electricity and magnets, it is vital to first be cognizant of where and when they were discovered.
The effects of electricity control much of our daily lives. Many of our gadgets and everyday tasks are run by this wonderful source of power. For example without electricity we would not be able to make a cup of coffee in the mourning, or even make a long distance call to family or friends. There have been several technological breakthroughs by many brilliant people throughout history regarding electricity. It has come from being discovered as a small current to being transformed into useful power to run such things as computers. Ben Franklin, Guglielmo Marconi, Thomas Edison, Paul Nipkow, and Charles Babbage have all contributed to the advancement of electricity, and all of their advancements have supplied society in many ways.
As it can be seen that, there is relationship between generate electricity which is one type of our energy and pollution of environment.
