Many animals die and humans end up getting sick from air pollution. Plants start to decay and the sky turns gray. All of this was caused by carbon monoxide coming from the exhaust pipe of a vehicle. Vehicle companies decided to put a stop to smoke coming out of vehicles, so they invented electric vehicles that run on electricity. Rechargeable electric vehicles were invented during the mid 19th century by Anyos Jedlik. During the 20th century, electric vehicles had a decline because gas vehicles started to become more superior than electric vehicles. In the year 2000 to present, electric vehicles are taking a bigger role in the automotive industries. People were worried about global warming and thought it was gasoline vehicles fault, so this …show more content…
Rinkesh Kukreja states that electric vehicles get rid of noise pollution unlike gasoline vehicles. “Electric cars put curb on noise pollutions as they are much quieter” (Kukreja 12). Electric vehicles eliminate noise pollution because they have no tailpipe emissions, so you would not hear the obnoxious and disturbing noise that come from gasoline vehicles. Electric vehicles will not give you or others headaches or wake you up from a deep slumber. Gasoline vehicles always give out noise pollution. For example, New York City has heavy traffic and there is no much noise everywhere for the whole day. There would never be a time when New York City would be quiet. Kukreja also mentioned that noise pollution can cause problems to society and the environment. “Large number of vehicles on roads, aeroplanes flying over houses, underground trains produce heavy noise and people get it difficult to get accustomed to that. The high noise leads to a situation wherein a normal person lose the ability to hear properly” (Kukreja 6). Hearing constant loud noises can damage our eardrums and you can lose your hearing. Loud noises are associated with disturbance of sleep, bad behavior, fatigue, and stress which can result into severe health issues later in life. Noise pollution can cause high blood pressure and heart beat rate to increase. Animals use their hearing as a survival skill and if their hearing is …show more content…
American Automobile Association explains that gas vehicles cause greenhouse gas, which connects to global warming and electric vehicles reduce it. AAA states, “Carbon-based greenhouse gas emissions from internal combustion engine exhaust are believed to contribute to global warming and climate change” (p. 2). Basically, AAA is saying when the engine burns fuel and releases smoke out of the exhaust, it goes into the air and pollutes it causing the greenhouse effect. Since electric vehicles have electric motors and no tailpipe emission, carbon dioxide would not come out of the vehicle and pollute the air. It would not destroy the environment and it would not cause smog either. This will improve clean air and Hygienics. Lesscars.org emphasizes that the burning of fuel will give you health problems and nature problems. Lesscars states, “It is long since proved that the use of oil products releases more pollution into the air than the nature can take care of, increasing risks of both cancer and lung diseases” (4). The website’s point is that oil products increase the risks of cancer and lung diseases also the pollution goes into the atmosphere and create acid rain. This means that The oil products, gas vehicles use will damage the atmosphere and ruin crops and other natural materials. It will also give you cancer or lung disease and maybe other illness. Using an electric vehicle will
The Automotive, or electric car industry particularly, comprises all those companies and activities involved in the manufacture of electric motor vehicles (EV), including most components, such as engines, bodies and rechargeable batteries or another energy storage device. The industry’s principal products are passenger automobiles. Despite the fact that the first electric cars were produced in 1880s , the advances in internal combustion engines, especially the electric starter, soon diminished the relative advantages of the electric car and became the dominant design in the market. Due to this the EV was almost a forgotten industry staying in the early stage of development, conforming to less than 1% of the automotive stock
The 2006 documentary about Who Killed the Electric Car shows the determination of several California citizens whose willpower was to keep the electric car alive and running. The first existence of the electric car under General Motors (GM) dates back to 1996 when they launched the EV1 electric vehicle. And although several consumers took to this new form of transportation, a car that was powered by an electric motor in place of the basic gasoline engine, GM decided to take back its newest technology and removed all existing EV1’s from off of the streets. With several upset consumers who were concerned as to both what GM and the government were up to and how they could get their cars back. Overall, the fact behind why the electric car became such a superior commodity and then vanished was the question being asked. The electric vehicle was destroyed during 2004 and 2005 because a car of this statue was far ahead of its time and greater parts of consumers were not about “going green.” Today the electric car has begun to revive itself because of the existence of global warming, and the efficiency of the electric car is rising. In other words, the electric car has been brought back to life, and many automobile manufacturers are gaining interest.
...t of the electric car for the economic and practical benefits that would reinvigorate the country and make life easier for everyone. Upon revisiting the original question to this essay, the electric car is a worthy solution to our energy crisis and proves to be an economically responsible car. Its long-term cost savings outweighs easily improved flaws. However, in order to better understand the work done by scientists, research must be done specifically on the predecessors to the electric car and determine how those have stood the test of time. This will be done in order to help predict how the electric car will survive in the world. The future may always have a hint of uncertainty, but if scientists, governments, and drivers implement the new car with care, the goal of a smooth transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources can finally be achieved.
Electric cars have dated as far back as 1880, with the first model being mass produced in the later 1880’s. At early stages of automobiles, there were no clear benefits from either type of engine. In fact, a majority of cars in use at the time were electric. Steam and combustion engines were less developed and not as popular. Before the 1900’s an electric car held the land speed record for motor vehicles. (Bellis, 2014) As roads were built and the range that vehicles would need to travel increased, the need for a longer lasting vehicle rose. This is why at the turn of the century the popularity of gasoline powered engines arose. Electric vehicles were still valued for their short term transportation (within cities) and relatively easy use, but they began to lose prevalence as developments into combustion rose. Production for electric cars peaked in 1912 (Bellis, 2014) and saw a drastic decline since
Imagine that you’re driving on an open highway in the middle of summer. All you see in front of you is asphalt for miles and miles. The windows are down and your favorite song comes on the radio. You’re behind the wheel of a Tesla Model S, the newest electric car that can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in 2.4 seconds. This will soon be the future of all motor vehicles. Electric cars are beginning to have colossal impacts on our society because of their energy efficiency, performance benefits, and the fact that they are less harmful to the environment. In the near future, electric cars will dominate the road and eventually the planet’s overall need for oil will decrease immensely.
A revolutionary environmental impact to pollution is provided by electric cars which produce zero emissions and provide a replenishable fuel resource. Toxic emissions into our earth’s environment would be reduced immediately as gas powered, pollution emitting vehicles are replaced with non-polluting, battery powered vehicles. Not only will pollution be reduced, but the means that power these vehicles are a renewable resource. Electricity can now be created by environmentally safer means, such as hydro-electric dams, wind farms, and various types of power plants proving a sound resource. With a safer, less polluting, renewabl...
Not spending money on gas for the rest of your life is a huge selling point for many people. The problem is that recharging your car takes so long that sometimes it is not even worth it. Electric cars are also very good for our environment. Electric cars can help the environment by not emitting harmful gases and hurt our atmosphere in any way.
Gasoline fueled cars produce a number of pollutants. The most damaging pollutants that come from gasoline fueled cars are particulate matter. Particulate matter is a sequence of organic materials and inorganic substances. It includes ingredients such as lint and minerals. Nitrogen dioxide, produced when fuel is burned at high temperatures, can cause damage to the lungs and cause chest pains. One might ask, “Why are Americans still driving gasoline cars?” knowing the damage that they are subject to cause. I personally maintain that the government should push people to p...
I bet you didn't know that the first cars made were all mostly electric. But as time passed gas powered cars became more popular through the years. There were few if any electric cars available as timed moved on. Everyone believed that gas powered vehicles were more convenient than the electric powered ones. I believe that gas powered vehicles are better because gas powered cars have more function ability. The range that electric vehicles have is poor compared to gas vehicles. Electric vehicles don't function very well when the weather is cold. You'll need to charge your car pretty much every night. You are only going to be able to go 80 mph. If you go up a big hill your range goes down. electric vehicles (rather ev's) do pollute but they don't pollute the same way that gas cars pollute.
vociferous noises are offensive and punishable by law. The law is called noise pollution. The
Many hazardous pollutants escape from the internal combustion of the engine. Conventional gas powered vehicles use irreplaceable fossil fuels to run. When burned, these fossil fuels create numerous toxins like carbon dioxide (Larminie 246). Carbon dioxide is considered the main greenhouse gas that creates the foundation for global warming (hybridcars.com, pollutants). This harmful pollutant may not have a serious effect on people at first, but it does have consequential effects on the environment that in turn put people in danger (Nutramed.com). The major consequence caused by global warming is the rise in average temperature. This results in a domino...
Environmentally Friendly Electric vehicles are today’s zero-emission vehicles. They have no tailpipes and emit no pollutants. Instead of gasoline from oil refineries, electric vehicles get their “fuel” from electric power stations. Although power plants using fossil fuels do have emissions, power plant emissions generated for electric vehicle use are typically much lower than emissions from the comparable use of gasoline-powered cars. For power plants using renewable energy sources like wind, solar and hydropower, no air pollution is created.
Electric cars were recently introduced to the auto world. They are very fuel efficient while still having all the practicalities of a regular car. They are quiet and have zero emissions. They also are cheaper to maintain and cheaper to own then a gas powered car. Even though car enthusiasts dislike the idea of going fully electric, it is a very conscientious choice. Electric cars might seem like a useless form of transportation, but they offer features that help keep the Earth clean.
Electric cars are becoming increasingly more necessary, and have more advantages than disadvantages. Electric cars help to decrease the noise, pollution as they are much quieter. They do not emit any (or much less) carbon emission than petrol cars. Electric vehicles are the greenest mode of transport in the personal transportation industry. For each litre of fuel used in an engine produces more than 2.5kg of CO2. CO2 will be produced by an electric car but still a very little amount. It is also possible to use renewable power or a green energy supplier in the electric car. Thus it would lead to less polluted and safe working environment for all of us. However, safety is a big concern with using vehicles. The fluids in the batteries actually take impact better than a fully made gas car because it is not that flammable. Petrol cars and diesel cars are more flammable than electric cars so they are greater of taking impact in the event of an accident. I think that this is a very good reason because fewer people would get injured or hurt. This would save money because electricity is cheaper than gas and electric cars are easy to operate. Also is very ECO –friendly which mean that it is cheaper to run and have to pay very little road tax. In a pure electric vehicle there’s nothing combustible and have far fewer moving parts than you would find in a petrol or diesel car.
These fuels include coal, oil products such as gasoline, and natural gas. Use of these fuels has a number of harmful health and environmental effects. According to the World Health Organization, outdoor air pollution, most of it from burning fossil fuels, especially coal kills at least 800,000 people each year and causes health problems for tens of millions of others. Technology is available to reduce such air pollution, but using it is costly and results in higher fuel
