As you may be aware, he was recently arrested for his major role in the drug cartels. It has been suggested that El Chapo be transferred to the state penitentiary in Florence, Colorado. The penitentiary in Florence holds the world’s most dangerous felons, including serial killers, drug dealers, and mass murderers. The extradition of El Chapo could be expensive and time consuming. Due to the corruptness and accessibility to the law enforcement, it could be a matter of time before El Chapo arranges an escape. As he has done in the previous two times,
Dia de los reyes magos is on Jan. 5 - Feb. 2 and the day is about the 3 wisemen, But January the 6th is the special day in Mexico….. this day represents the height of the Christmas season. This celebration is where it is stated that the kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthasar, traveled by night all the way from the farthest confines of the Earth to bring gifts to Jesus, whom they recognized as the Son of God. As well as regal, the Three Kings are depicted as wise men, whose very wisdom is proved by their acknowledgement of Christ's divine status. Arrived from three different directions, the kings followed the light provided by the star of Bethlehem, which reportedly lingered over the manger where the Virgin Mary gave birth for many days. In
Recent arrests and the diminished opportunity to forward cocaine to U.S had left them with the necessity to embark in kidnappings, auto thefts, extortion, murders for hire, human smuggling, and other felonies not to mention that local demand for narcotics had increased recently. The Tijuana Cartel operations extents from the U.S Mexico border across Central America through the Pacific Route and receives support of one of most violent criminal organizations: Los
Can you imagine being convicted of first degree murder at only 17 years of age? Adnan Syed couldn't believe it either. In fact he was mortified when they charged him of brutally suffocating, his ex-girlfriend Hea Min Lee, to death. Adnan Syed was a pawn that the Baltimore detectives played with, a mere dupe to cast off as the true killer. Syed is like many Americans, he was never granted a fair trial. There is some actors that make Syed guilty, but perhaps it was just pure coincidence that got Adan wrapped up in this whole mess. One simply can't overlook the major factors that make him innocent enough to grant him a second trial. Adan has spent half of his life in prison, due to a wrongful conviction that happened many
Relevance: Guzman is the leader of one of the largest criminal organizations in the world, thus making him one of the most powerful men in the world.
The arrest of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman was a victorious circumstance for the Mexican government, who have been closing down on his presence for the recent past years. Mexican authorities began taking down high ranked members of the Sinaloa Cartel including two of Guzman’s main associates. On February 22, 2014, the world’s most wanted man had also been captured. Although the biggest drug lord has been captured, the crime and violence left behind cannot be forgotten.
To counteract the growth of the gang phenomenon, during the 2000s the Northern Triangle countries favored a mano dura (iron fist) approach to dealing with the increasing belligerence of gangs. In El Salvador, the implementation of mano dura resulted in the incarceration of thousands of youths, sometimes based solely on their appearance, associations, or addresses. According to the OAS Hemispheric Security Observatory, between 2004 and 2008 alone, the number of gang members in El Salvador’s jails doubled from 4,000 to 8,000, representing roughly one-third of the total jail population. El Salvador’s 19 prisons, built to hold 8,000 people, held nearly 24,000 in 2012. As a result of such severe overcrowding, many presumed offenders languished in prison for years without ever seeing the inside of a courtroom. Yet still the gangs continued to grow, and El Salvador’s judicial system became strained to the breaking point.
“ Life is full of surprises, some good, some not so good.” Pablo Escobar once said this when he became the leader of the Medellin Cartel in Colombia. Another person who had the same mentality is Joaquin Guzman also known as El Chapo the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. The similarities of these men are that they quickly rose to power through illegal ventures. For many years these two men were causing havoc all over the world. Pablo and El Chapo both became the most wanted men in the world at one point in their lives. People wanted these men off of the streets to for the can be put in jail. Finally the people got want they wanted and they men both got thrown in jail.
Pablo Escobar is remembered around the world as a criminal, a drug lord, and a gang leader. Escobar is believed to be responsible for the deaths of over 4,000 police officers, soldiers, lawyers, and politicians. Still to this day, almost every person in Colombia knows someone whose life has been affected by the actions of Pablo Escobar. He is recognized not only for his notorious crimes, but also for his generous support to the poor and his donations to many underprivileged communities. Despite his death over twenty years ago in 1993, the actions and decisions Escobar made while he was alive still have major influences on the world today.
Over the last several decades, violence has consumed and transformed Mexico. Since the rise of dozens of Mexican cartels, the Mexican government has constantly been fighting an ongoing war with these criminal organizations. The cartel organizations have a primary purpose of managing and controlling illegal drug trafficking operations in Central America and South America to the United States. Violence on a massive and brutal scale has emerged due to the nature of the illegal drug trade. Because the drug trade is vastly widespread, cartels are often fighting one another and competing in business. Mexican authorities count at least 12 major cartels, but also talk of an untold numbers of smaller splinter groups. (Taipei Times). Five cartels from Mexico have risen to become the extremely powerful amongst all the drug organizations operating in Mexico. The Guadalajara Cartel, the Sinaloa Cartel, the Tijuana Cartel, the Juarez Cartel, and the Gulf Cartel. These organizations, along with other distinguished Mexican cartels, have plagued Mexico with violence, terror, and fear due to the essence and nature of illegal drug trafficking.
...of cooperation with official and the blatant disrespect for the law perpetuates a life of violence, drugs and other criminal activities when incarcerated. Only through tough changes that will take dedicated professionals in the correction system can make a difference. The economic factor plays a vital role in these changes because without money there will be no additional assistance to change this culture and mindset. There will be no analyzing of why this young person is in prison so they can be a part of something that only cares about that next dollar. With the proper specialist to exam and reconstruct the lives of those that want a change, change can be had. Weeding out the corrupt officials is urgent for any of these changes to occur. They are the connection point with the gang members and set the tone for those that might need a hand to turn their life around.
Without a doubt, the United State Presidential Election has dominated the most recent news cycle. With stories such as Hillary Clinton's emails and Donald Trump's firebrand speech, it is easy to see why. The media storm has caused many high-profile billionaires to open their checkbooks to ensure the safety of their interests by investing in their favorite candidate. In contrast, Democratic billionaire George Soros has been pouring funds into the American justice system.

Reported incidents of kidnapping and extortion in Mexico increased in January 2014 when compared to the previous month. Increases in extortion and kidnapping in the first month of 2014 follow reports indicating that in 2013, Mexico recorded its highest totals for these crimes in 17 years. Spokespersons for the federal government have attempted to downplay the data, claiming that it represents better crime reporting. However, the reported growth in extortion and kidnapping is more likely a reflection of federal, state, and local authorities’ inability to address Mexico’s growing gang threat. In the near future, political discord and posturing could prevent authorities from enacting credible solutions to this problem.
