According to the internet human behavior has a very big affect on the environment. Environmental settings such as air pollution, oceans, energy, or noise are all sources that can negatively impact the environmental quality and conditions. Our daily routines have a huge impact on the environment and we do not realize it. New laws that are passing and educating people will help a lot. People are being educated on how to use less water, use our cars less, how to use less energy, and even taking reusable bags when going grocery shopping because plastic bags are very bad for the environment. There are simple solutions that can help in getting started with these efforts. Every little step and effort we make in our daily routines count.

For example, smoking is strictly prohibited for teens, students and other younger generations. The younger population of smokers is constantly growing. This on the other hand has impacted the environment in a negative manner. Smoking on campus in schools is still a problem and imposes a health risk for students and negative environmental impacts. It is very important to protect students, faculty and staff from second hand smoke on college campuses. Many colleges and universities have become smoke free campuses. A person who smokes on the campus exposes the other nonsmokers to second hand smoke, something which can have negative effects to both their health. The worst part is that the people who do not smoke are also affected from the second hand smoke; and the effect is almost the same as being the …show more content…
It may be easier to start out in small steps maybe within the individual household, then work towards others on the outside. Any step or effort made is a positive step in the right direction. Changing the behavior and effects on the environment takes the work of all individuals that share this Earth. One person can only make so much of a difference. Personally, I will put effort into my daily life to try using less water by turning off the faucet while brushing my teeth or in between when I’m washing dishes. I have mentioned to my father how he should call the company that comes to your home and takes your grass out and replaces it with gravel which is small rocks. It is paid by the government because you are helping the environment by using less water and you won’t have to water grass anymore. They put plants of your choice that do not require water. I’m sure if I’m capable of taking public transportation to commute to work and school but maybe I will think about changing my car to a hybrid or an electric in the near future. The government also provides grants to families who are interested in solar panels for their home. That will go a long way to help air pollution and our
At my school, I am an active member of a program called S.E.E.D., which stands for Students Ending Environmental Destruction. As a group, spread awareness about recycling, water conservation and remediation, climate change, and other environmental problems the world faces today. We make sure that every classroom has a recycling bin and informative posters above them. We have hosted movie nights where we provide healthy, GMO-free refreshments and show an educational film that relates to a current issues to spread awareness. We have also convinced our school to install stations that are specifically meant to refill water bottles as it encourages students to stop buying plastic bottles and wasting plastic. Taking care of the environment and educating our youth, the congressmen, women, and voters of tomorrow who will be the deciding factors of the earth’s health, and consequently the people’s health, is crucial to me.
...such as recycling and reducing waste has significantly helped our environment and will continue to if future generations practice these same habits. For deforestation, many organizations have strived to plant more trees and add more oxygen to the atmosphere as well as nutrients for the soil. Seeing that although humans create many negative impacts in our global environment, there are many positive arrangements in correcting these issues.
In conclusion, the impact I personally have on the planet has surprised me. My personal ecological footprint is much larger than I expected. However, there are measures I can take to drop my current consumption rate, such as altering my recycling choices, making better purchasing decisions, and adopting the reduce, reuse, and recycle concept throughout my household. By altering my habits and consumption rate, I can affect my local community tremendously in a positive way for the planet Earth.
220,000, that is the number the world population will grow in a single day. Everyday. That is 220,000 new mouths to feed everyday. While globally this issue is already a top concern how will we continue to approach this with populations surging, at what cost will we draw a line and crack down. Overpopulation has contributed to innumerable environmental issues not only on a national level but also on a more substantial transborder level. This paper will focus specifically on the air, water, and land aspect of environmental issues affected by surging populations.
Every day the world around us is changing ever so slightly in many different ways. Humans can affect the environment through our day to day lifestyle without even noticing the change. An ecological footprint is a measurement of how much a person uses the environment around them to live their life. This given measurement can help one to see their impact on the earth. It is an important tool to understand what actually a human does to change the habitat near them. My ecological footprint results gave me a perspective of how my daily life can impact the world I live in, as well as, how I as an individual can change my actions to make less waste on earth. It is also useful for each person to know their own ecological footprint since no one live
However, many people just talk without taking any action. As an old sentence said a man of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds. We cannot do anything if we never take actions. So, how can we start? For my personal experience, to protect the environment, we should start from ourselves, from little things such as throw waste into the garbage. If we do these things day by day, we can influence the people who around us. I think the environment will be better than before in our
Many people think of environmental awareness as a waste of time. Most big businesses and even the government believes that it gets in the way of profit and production. One person can minimize problems like hazardous waste and pollution. Most people believe that because they are one person they cannot help the environment, when they really can. People can pick up trash, not litter, re-use products, recycle, walk to places, take the bus or subway, or ride a bike. The earth also needs the government and big business’ help when it comes to earth quakes, oil spills, endangered species, etc. These problems require the actions of big groups and the government. Doing service to your environment will really make a difference. Taking action in your community can make a difference in the future. You can help save the environment one step at a time.
In the time spent on campus, a student should not have to breathe air with thousands of chemicals from a smoke cloud. If smoking was pushed towards a smoking area or private section for smokers only, then smoking should be allowed on campus. In this way, people who have an issue with smoking will try to avoid the smoking area at all costs. Second hand smoke takes away someone’s right for
Environmental pollution has always remained a serious problem in society today. Our planet is often being polluted by many toxins that are not only deadly to us, but our wildlife too. Environmental pollution leads to air pollution, environmental crisis, and global warming. Now there are many different ways that can help these topics be preventable. People need to understand what environmental sustainability truly is. Learning environmental sustainability will give people the tools and knowledge to help sustain our planet before it is too late. Planet earth is our home and people need to understand the damage being done to it. Understanding these important key factors will lead our planet to become healthier and a better place for life to live.
Although more people are aware of the impacts we have on our environment, there are still people that choose to ignore scientific evidence, or do not fully understand the consequences. Further education and research are critical components in an effort to become more sustainable. Fortunately, younger generations are learning about the need to address environmental issues so that changes can be made to ensure our way of life is sustainable.
The environment today is not in a good condition, Climate change is evident, and oceans are getting polluted. Rainforrest's are decreasing in size due to deforestation and illegal logging. Animals are getting extinct due to the destruction of their habitats. Natural resources are being consumed at very large amounts, and get wasted. There are different ways these problems can be addressed, one option is environmental management. Environmental management focuses on conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats, and impact of humans on the environment. Conservation of natural resources is the smart use of the world's resources by humans, through this waste production is limited, and there will be less garbage in the world. By conserving
Many people assume that the environment is not in danger. They believe that as technology advances, we do not need to worry about renewing natural resources, recycling, and finding new ways to produce energy. They state that one person in the world does not make a large difference. In reality, each individual's contribution greatly affects our environment. Our natural resources are slowly disappearing, and we must work together to save them and the Earth from ruin.
While there is a problem, we don’t have to go overboard, but we do need to take action ourselves. We can do so by doing our part to decrease our carbon footprint, whether by recycling, organic farming, or refusing to pollute. It is a noble thing to address the needs of the planet. But all things have to be done in moderation and we need to proceed accordingly.
Environmental health explains the quality of your home, work, school, and social environment. Even the health of our planet plays a factor, air quality and availability of clean filtered water and healthy food. Also the weather and pollution, exposures to chemicals are factors playing against environment. I read an article by Lecia Bushak and she had made up many ways to help improve our environment. “Earth Day isn’t the only day you can take steps to make the environment better. In fact, it’s really easy to go green on a daily basis, and in doing so, you’ll be improving your own life” (Bushak, 2015). Following her step I will do my best to not use my car as much. I will be recycling more that’s for sure. I also will start being better about monitoring my electronics and water use in my home! These few changes will make the difference in my environmental health and I am willing to make these changes!
There are lots of environmental issues going on globally. The earth faces problems such as pollution, global warming, waste disposal, and loss of biodiversity. These are just a small amount of issues out of the so many. These environmental problems pose an abundant amount of risk to the health of humans and animals. There needs to be a solution to all these problems and that is by informing others, so that way everyone can make the environment a better place.
