Side Effects from Cyberbullying Bullying is just not a face to face problem, yet happens through electronic devices to criticize someone. Though it’s called cyberbullying instead of just bullying. Cyberbullying is defined with the use of electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops to criticize a person. Normally, when using these devices people can send messages that tend to emotionally hurt someone’s feelings. Social media can lead to many negative outcomes when communicating to others. Cyberbullying can be observed by just about anyone that uses social media. For instance, if a teenage boy posts on a girl’s photo saying that she is ugly is considered cyberbullying. Messages can be forwarded to one another or put on social media, which could lead embarrassment. The more people that see the messages, the more embarrassing it can become for victim and even for the bully. Children and even adolescents struggle with nervousness, unhappiness and even eating illnesses due to cyberbullying. Anyhow, many ways to deal with avoiding bullying from others online, such as staying off of social media. Cyberbullying could cause many side effects, such as anxiety, depression and even eating disorders to just about anyone. One possible side effect from criticism of cyberbullying is anxiety. Cyberbullying can be a disturbing concern for teachers, school, and parents in schools. For the fact, that a child may develop social and mental anxiety from bullying. Unfortunately, bullying can lead to elevated blood pressure and cause mixed mental stability if they feel unwanted or no self-worth. Obsess with the way they look such as weight and the way food make a person feel bad or good. The most common eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating (eating a lot) disorder. Anyhow, many significant stressors that could activate the development of an eating disorder such as cyberbullying. Example, a student that may have gained weight fast could result to somebody body shaming a photo on social media of them. Cyberbullying has a lot of body shaming on social media. Even fat-shaming is one of the most common forms of cyberbullying. Although fat-shaming and cyberbullying has been happening for a long time, people have more chances to make hurtful comments about one’s weight and looks. Cyber-bullying may include the humiliation and threatening action the use of digital technology.
