The United States is a free country. Some talk has been stirring in the U.S. over whether education should be a privilege or a right. In my opinion, I believe that education should be a right in the United States. Some of my thoughts on why I believe education should be a right is because the U.S. is a democracy so our education should be a right. Education helps people socialize and meet new people, and education helps students become prepared for the work force. In the U.S. we have a lot of freedom, laws and regulations, and rights; education should be one of them. Some people may want to get an excellent education and go far in life, but may not be able to afford it. Education should be offered to all classes of people and to people of all ages because someone could drop out, but then come back later and get their GED. If our education was a privilege, then someone may not be allowed to come back and finish their high school diploma, or their college education. The United States is a democracy. Without education, we could not keep the U.S. functioning. We need education in every aspect of life. …show more content…
To be successful, we need all the knowledge we can get. No one just automatically knows how to pay bills, pay taxes, and to take out loans. That is why education should be a right, so we know how to tackle all the hardships that come at us during adulthood. Education helps us go through life easier. It makes everything flow smoothly if we know what to do. If we did not have any education about the real world, we would not be able to make it. In conclusion, education should most definitely be a right. Without it, we would have no clue as to what is going on. Very few people might get away without any education and become successful, but people that know and understand what they are doing may be more prone to becoming successful in life. Everyone needs more education than what they
opinion, education is essential to have success in life. When the main goal of life is purely
Education has been the pathway to a better life for many years now. It is full of opportunity for many Americans. Education is not for every child but it is necessary in the early part of kids’ lives to learn the important things. Thanks to our government, we have public education in which we have free kindergarten through 12th grade. Public education is paid by through our taxes. Because of this, the government runs the schools and that can cause some problems. There will always be room for improvement in the public education system. I think the biggest thing we can do to improve K-12 schooling right now, is to go to a year round school year schedule.
I believe that the purpose of education is to produce the next generation of leaders who are intelligent and have great character. This idea is supported in the article “The Purpose of Education” by Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who fought for black and white people to have equal rights in America. He writes about the true purpose, and meaning of education in the article by saying, “Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction (MLK1).” This quote from the article explains that being academically educated is very important. It will help people stand up, be a leader, and take charge to make the world a better place for everyone. That gallant leader will argue against the fallacy, lies,
Everyone should have the right to a good quality education. They should be taught to give their opinion of different ideas and express their feeling instead they are taught to follow the society rule. In the article “The pedagogy of the oppressed”, Paulo Freire talks about the relationship between the student and the teacher and how each of them play a different role in the educational system. The teacher 's role is to educate the students by making them copy what is on the board and memorizing, sometimes without understanding what it means because that’s what they are paid to do. On the other hand, the students have to listen to what the teachers say, copy what they write and memorize it without saying a word or asking any questions because the teachers are the only ones responsible for that. Writer and Activist James Baldwin says that “The purpose of education, finally, is to create in a person the ability to look at the world for himself, to make his own decisions… To ask questions of the universe, and then learn to live with those questions, is the way he achieves his own identity. But no society is really anxious to have that kind of person around. What societies really, ideally, want is a citizenry which will simply obey the rules of society.” Education should be fun for the people to learn more and encouraged to do better but it is not. They are forced to learn what society wants them to instead of letting them create new ideas and letting them do what they want to
Education is the foundation to every society. Taking a look back into history and even in our own world today, whenever there is an attempt to oppress a group of people, the first thing that is taken from the group being oppressed is their right to an education. Look at our own history, before the civil rights movement, African-Americans may have been allowed to attend a school, but often times this schooling was worthless compared to the one being received by the white community.
Education is the backbone of most nations. Proper teaching to students ensure things such as better technology, better fund distributions, running operations like businesses, military training, and the government. Sadly, our nation is very low on the ladder when it comes to education. Students First has pointed out that most children are reading below their grade level, are respectively the 20th and 27th best nation when it comes to Math and Science, and there is no signifigant change. Americans are however getting an education, though lower than against other nations America still are able to make a living with their lives. There is much needed improvement, but at least Americans are not completely ignorant. Citizens can make a living with their lives and though not as intelligent as someone from Korea or Japan there is no way to dispute that our education system is doing
America is a blessed country in numerous ways, and its citizens reap the benefits. Free education is one major benefit that not many other countries provide for their citizens. While it is only a privilege to many, in the States, people have the right to be educated. However, free education cannot guarantee success for all. For those motivated individuals who cherish the privilege to be educated, they are the ones who climb up the success ladder later in life.
Education is essential for everyone. Education plays a critical role in the development of a generation of individuals that is virtuous and in turn contributes to the development of good people. Through education, a person is able to develop mentally, but also physically and socially. To the youths, education is important as it helps them to develop the principles of life, enables them to make the correct career decisions and also prepares them in the pursuit of the goals that they may have set for themselves in life. I strongly believe that a good, heck, or even a regular education is a right that cannot be taken away. Education is a right and not a privilege.
In my opinion, it is the right of every child to be educated because a person without education is a person without anything. Education has evolved so much since the previous centuries and of course to the better which was not made possible without the help of technology and the funds raised. Technology motivated children towards education and made it more fun and entertaining. The ministry of education played a very important role in improving education.
Education is a elemental human right and essential for all other human rights. It is a powerful tool by which socially and economically marginalized children and adults can lift themselves out of poverty. It also consists of the right to freedom of education. Freedom of education is the right given to human beings to have access to the education of their preference without any constrictions. Right to education is a human right recognized by the United Nations. It includes the entire compulsion to eliminate inequity at all levels of the educational system.
The term education can be expressed in so many ways. The definitions range far and wide from country to country. Some may view an education as the standard experience of attending an educational institute while others may even view it as a spiritual learning experience Therefore, the Right to Education with such definitions, maybe a tricky law to explain and compare.
