In this paper I’m going to write a reflection about EDIT 6110 - Advanced Instructional Design course I just completed. For the past eight weeks, I have taken the instructional training on how to create a successful blog, we created in our previous course and use the outline that my team of students developed, and I revised it to better suit the diverse group of students who volunteer to participate in the implementation. I had the privilege and opportunity of seeing teachers benefit and learn a new tool from my design, and the frustration of seeing technical challenges during and after implementation.
The eight weeks of EIDT 6110-3 have been both informative, challenging, and ultimately a great learning experience. The biggest challenge I encounter in this course was the development and implementation of my instructional training module, on How to

create a successful blog, and trying to figure out how to present the instructional materials to my learners. After much deliberation and research I decided to use a new free platform name “OpenLearning”. I took advantage of the opportunity to learn and explore new tools and software application through trial version of different programs, and I also utilized various support resources when I come across questions and unexpected barriers, especially when it came time to publish the module. The most beneficial resources I found were prezi, screencastomatic, jinger, and YouTube. Another challenge I faced was with the pre and post-test due to broken links and getting fix in time to have everyone complete it before and after they completed the instructional training. In efforts to be able to resolve any technical issues or to conduct a formative assessment I was present in the course and became engaged with the students through discussion boards and praise students for their efforts and collaboration. What insights did you gain about the field of instructional design, the ID process, or the issues and challenges an instructional designer faces on a daily basis? It gave me better understanding of the ID process and the time and effort it is required to complete each process of the ADDIE model. I learned that as an ID your role doesn’t end after implementation. That your design would need to be constantly revised, modified and re-evaluated many times and that you will not have a perfect design the first time around. I also learned that implementation is one of the most nerve wracking part of the process because other people will be judging your work and you are constantly concerned or worry that something will not go as planned. What did you learn about the different skills and dispositions that an instructional designer must possess to successfully deal with the common issues and challenges faced in their daily work? An instructional designer needs to be flexible and with an open disposition to make adjustment and changes when necessary. Also the ID needs to be mindful of the different learning styles and consider their motivation cause of resistance and prior knowledge. Because a good designed and instruction empowers people to adopt what they learn into their thought processes. How will you apply what you learned in this course to future ID projects? In this course I have learned to align the implementation plan directly to the goals and objective.
I also learned that is important to do a test run through different browser is using a LMS platform. To be ready and prepared to correct any technical issues within the instructional training and that designing a course will not be perfect the first time is has been design developed or implemented. I also learned that how important it is to know your learner and the skills they possess in order to align the instructions to their skills and knowledge. I learned so much from the case study and from our course discussion that I think all of them I will be able to use in the future when designing instructional modules. I will be systematic in my planning. I will take the time to follow the ADDIE model to ensure I follow each step and I will make sure to consider the needs, strengths and weaknesses of my learners as much as the planning of the course content. I’ll consider whether the problems I am required to solve are truly instructional problems, or will another kind of change or approach would solve the problem at

The class GEB3213 has allow me to have a peek of the work load will encounter if I become a Health Care Administer. The following is an outline of what I have learn in this course and how I will use it in the Health Care Administration field.
At the beginning of this class, students were warned about coming into this class with a certain mindset. Students were warned not to have the preconception of thinking that COMS 201 would teach them how to manipulate others into doing what they wanted. Guilty of this mindset I attempted to trick myself into thinking that I did not have that mindset. Getting through the first few modules on theory was difficult. I remember asking myself, “What did I sign up for?”. After getting through the first few modules I began to enjoy what I was learning, so much so, I caught myself referencing what I had learned in COMS 201 in other aspects of my life. Not before too long all of the modules became hard to keep track of in my head; thus, making
Composition 1 taught me crucial writing skills and helped me grow as a writer. At the beginning of the semester, my papers utilized a considerable amount of passive voice, lacked transitional phrases, and the context was not always fully developed. But throughout the class, my writing became more clear, organized, and comprehensive. Passive voice allows the object of an action to be the subject of a sentence. In my first paper, the formal summary essay, I wrote, “The term describes situations, dating back to the 1980s, when excessive numbers of blacks were found to have been exposed to highly polluted areas.” The use of “were found” and “been exposed” distort the meaning of the sentence. Passive voice confuses the reader and makes comprehension
Time sure does fly; in the blink of an eye, yet another 7.5-week class has come and gone. Just like life, it is scary to think that in just a few short years I will be graduating college and be in search of a future career. The magnitudes of readings, assignments, PowerPoint lectures, and videos have all contributed to the valuable knowledge I have gained since taking this course. Nothing that was presented or required was seen as invaluable towards my progression of career development. This career development course has allowed me to do some self-exploration, career research, and help me understand what influencing factors were related to the job market. Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future.
Ever since these recommendations there have been improvements in many areas of education. Our society is technology driven, and so the use of computer and other technological devices have bee...

I am writing this letter as a self-reelection after taking WR 227 with you as my Professor. Like I mentioned in my e-mail I am not exactly sure how my career field will use writing, but after taking the class I realized that whatever it may be I will have the knowledge to do so. I feel more confident in my writing ability, and knowledge of how to find any material I could use on the job. Over the last term I would say my writing has grown in that I now know how to write professionally written documents. I would say the biggest success and proudest achievement was writing the resume and cover letter. I had originally taken a class in high school that was supposed to teach a bit of professional writing, but I think WR 227 was much better.
I am taking HLST 3110 as my elective course for fourth year. I know there are tons of courses out there, but this course caught my attention and there are three reasons why. Firstly, I want to take an elective course that is related to my program, which is in Health Management or anything more generally related to health studies. I want to enhance and expand my knowledge in the field of health studies so that I can use what I’ve learned in the future because one day, I want to be a healthcare administrator that can manage a healthcare facilities or a systems and provide quality of care and efficiency. And to achieve this, it is important to perceive not only the internal environmental factors, but also the external factors that can affect the performance of healthcare
I felt the connection with the programs that I have watched on NITV through the content it had explored the social issues, history, and belongingness of a diverse nation and aboriginal culture through the power of creativity which was expressed through art. The NITV news I have watched was based on ‘Story of the world’s longest stock route unfolds at National Museum’ (Johnson, 2015) by the artistic forms the indigenous artist Curtis Taylor has revealed the history and the stories of the people in his territory. The second program named ‘Our Stories; Surviving’ had portrayed an artist called Jason Wing who strongly is connected within his Chinese and aboriginal heritage and through his artwork he explores several issues within his artworks about
As teachers we plan our lessons and think to ourselves, "my students are going to love this lesson and will be able to understand what I am teaching", but sometimes that isn 't the case. You may plan a lesson in hopes that your students understand but it doesn 't go as planned. Every student learns differently and thinks differently and because of this we, as teachers must learn to differentiate our lessons. This may require us to change the way we deliver our lesson, change the activities for our lessons or even change the wording of our material so students understand. In this paper, I will be differentiating a lesson plan based on student readiness, student interest and student learning profile for content, process, and product.
Instructional Design is a systematic approach to design, evaluation and management of instruction. It helps to facilitate learning in an effort to improve. There are many models that have been developed to assist in the design of instructional materials. This paper will compare three: ADDIE, ASSURE and Kemp with a focus on online learning.
Blogs are widely embraced as a tool that has revolutionized publishing on the web. It’s easy and it’s fun to keep a blog, two elements that are always attractive. I like blogs, but what I’m going to write about in this essay is a way in which I think blogs don’t work; or, at least, a way in which blogs didn’t work in my teaching in the way I tried to allow it to happen. Just to telegraph my points clearly: First, and I only want to touch on this point briefly, I learned that the logic extreme of the “student-centered classroom” doesn’t work that well, even with electronic tools that you would think would facilitate it and even in a class of advanced students who you would think would know better.
What do you expect to learn from this course that will help you develop in the areas you’ve identified?
The integration of various computer technologies have pushed designers of curriculums to modify their teaching and instructional design in such a way that they promote the essence of instant, interactive, and transferrable knowledge. There...
Erik Erikson was a developmental psychologist known for his theory on psychosocial development. Unlike other theorists of his time Erikson’s theory focused on human development across the lifespan from birth to late adulthood. Erickson believed that development change occurs through out our lives in eight distinctive stages that emerge in a fixed pattern and are similar for all people. Erickson argued that each stage presents a crisis or conflict which results in either a positive or negative outcome (Feldman). In this essay I will identify incidents in my own life that demonstrate each stage of development according to Erickson that I have lived through. I will also interview my Aunt Tami who will share her experiences for the remainder stages of Erickson’s development that I have not gone through thus far.
