Poe Murdered By His Fiance's Brothers Edgar Allan Poe, an American writer and poet, died under mysterious circumstances in Baltimore on October 7, 1849. Many theories have been put forth to explain his death, ranging from alcohol poisoning to cholera. The theory that is the reason for his death explores the possibility that Poe's relationship with Elmira's siblings may have been strained, leading to a motive for them to seek revenge on Poe. The theory examines the historical context of Poe's relationships and the potential motives and reasoning for how the brothers of his fiance killed him while hiding the evidence. So the theory that is most plausible was the murder of his fiance's brothers. As one reads all the different articles, Poe did not have a good relationship with his fiance's brothers, it is quite obvious since they murdered him. Since some believe that Poe died from cooping through the beatings and all the horrible things they do, it would make sense to hide the evidence in others thinking that. Others say otherwise, but this is a plausible reason for his “mysterious” death. Looking back at all the evidence and relationships that he had with his fiance’s family, it is possible that they did execute this for their sister's own benefit and health.
