Eco-friendly wildlife garden is a great way to attract wildlife to your garden with various types of benefits. There are large numbers of native wildlife reserve in the gardens with an important value all over the country. The most important elements for a good and healthy wildlife garden are food, shelter and water. These are the fundamental elements required by all the living organisms to survive.
Food: You can consider the habitat of some insects that feeds on nectar. Some animals that feed on worms and slugs and birds that feed on fruits and berries can be put in the gardens to increase the aesthetic look of the garden. Buddleia that attracts butterflies and cotoneaster bearing berries are good for wildlife eco-friendly gardens.
Shelter: Animals habitat in the gardens requires shelter to breed in, sleep and hibernate in. Most of the gardeners place bird boxes in the gardens to attract the birds to the gardens. Boxes are also made for some insects also including lacewings, ladybird and bumble bees. A compost heap in the garden is the best place for the shelter of frogs, he...
The Sustainability Project’s main objectives were to protecting natural resources and preserving habitats of both animals and wild plants. The project included two main teams: the EcoEagles team that focused on preserving the natural environment and the Monarch
A. Define the Problem Natureview Farm, Inc. (Natureview), a small yogurt company founded in 1989, produces and markets yogurt using natural ingredients and a distinct manufacturing method that yields a smooth, creamy texture without adding artificial thickeners. As a result of this emphasis on natural ingredients, the brand has established a reputation for high quality, great tasting yogurt and is the leading natural foods brand of refrigerated yogurt. Natureview’s yogurts – available in twelve flavors in 8-ounce cups, four flavors in 32-ounce cups, and multi-pack yogurt products – are distributed nationally and the company shares leadership in the natural food channel. In 1999, the company’s revenues grew from $100,000 to $13 million; however, despite Natureview’s success and well-established brand, the company has long battled to preserve a steady level of profitability. In 1996, Jim Wagner was hired as chief financial officer and was able to successfully achieve steady profitability for the company.
Gradually, a garden can be a comfort place for a person. It can even bring a community together. Maybe it can also symbolize the meaning to a belief. A garden can benefit the gardener who is growing it or a community that is building one for a good cause. In “Sowing Change” by Donna Freedman, gardens means a lot to the community of North Lawndale, in Chicago. In “Marigolds” by Eugenia Collier, a garden full of a few Marigolds means the world to someone.
Native plants in any given area have adapted to all the other organisms in a given area and genetically diverse ecosystems are generally maintained.

Ecosystems can be as small as a tide pool or a rotting log or as large as a body of water, forest or desert. Each system can consist of a community of plants and animals and this community is sustained by raw materials, chemical elements and water. Each community is surrounded by soil, water, climate and other conditions of the environment. An example of an ecosystem is a pond it supports a community of fish, frogs, insects and plants. Basic food is small organisms and plankton for the fish to consume. If the ecosystem does not maintain a balance it can weaken and the species will suffer. The systems are affected by fire, disease and severe climate changes not including predators and man such as building, pollution and mining.
An important feature of green roofs is their potential to provide habitation for urban wildlife, therefore many animal species such as rats and ants would benefit from green roofs. Coffman and Waites, (2008) explains that the urban development practices recognised as roof greening offers habitat for wild species within the towns and it also helps rise the home-grown natural diversity. However, roof greening is not a method restoration ecology, but it is method of reconciliation ecology, where entirely new habitation is formed for non-human species. In addition Green roofs certainly delivers some form of habitat, it is also possible that the properties of the roof could harm the wildlife diversity.
Biodiversity is a priority issue for me and the country of Canada because nature and biodiversity provide for services that we humans take for granted. Clean air, clean water, soil for agriculture, and pollination from different insects are only a few things provided by nature. In the 21st century living in the industrialized era we have tendency to neglect things that we believe to have no economic value to us. “… the economic value of income from the earths ecological services is at least $36 trillion (US) per year” (Miller, Hackett 213).Clearly diversity has very economic value, but we also need it for basic things such as food. Agriculture in Canada is worth $ 95 billion and account for 8.8% of its gross national product and 14% of its employment (Miller, Hackett 292).Canadians also need biodiversity for their health, with 70% of pharmaceuticals being derived from natural resources. We should care to save biodiversity not only for the benefits that it brings to us, but also because of its aesthetic value, which means that some people love and appreciate nature because of its beauty. Simple things li...
Hogsmeadow Garden Centre is a popular tourist area of the UK, which mainly sells garden-related products in shops and high-quality food in restaurants. In the past few years, Hogsmeadow Garden Centre was expanded and the number of customers sharply increased. However, the sales revenue and profitability hadn’t grown as fast. The aim of this essay is to discuss the main micro-operations at Hogsmeadow Garden Centre and its main input resources, transformation process and outputs, the problems faced by Don Dursley in managing and developing his centre and the solutions to improve the profitability of his business.
The natural ecosystem provides both goods and services to us. The ecosystem goods are the things that people produced from soil, water and plants; Crops, Fibre, Timber, Livestock, Tourism, etc. are the example of ecosystem goods. And, at the same time people get a varieties of fundamental and life supporting services such as flood control, clean air and water, pollination of crops and other plants, natural hazard regulation, cultural, spiritual and aesthetic services which are called ES ( Kerr, G., 2010).
The initial step in wildlife conservation is understanding why wildlife is vital to the ecosystem in the first place. Earth is one immense ecosystem. According to Inamullah Khan from Environmental News, wildlife plays a important role in the world's ecosystem. Inamullah Khan states that wildlife is key to six parts of the ecosystem: "ecological value, economic value, recreational value, scientific value, social value, and aesthetical value." (Inamullah Kahn) Inamullah Kahn explains that "ecological value is the interaction of wildlife in nature." (Inamullah Kahn) The ecosystem relies on harmony between all species. Without this equity balances would shift leading to discord and eventual collapse of the ecosystem. "Food chains" would become altered leading to the upset of the natural sequence of life. (Inamullah Kahn) Nature is a deligate balance of life and with the loss of one species all others will cease.
We are a part of a very complex and huge ecosystem. By accepting biocentrism outlook we can see that the main goal of the natural conservancy organization is to protecting the echo- system for many year to come. Knowing that every living being is part of this interconnected echo system; it is on our duty to realize the intrinsic value of all living beings while prioritizing the importance of protecting nature for the earth community. The natural conservancy organization truly captures the essence of environmentalism because it acknowledges the intrinsic value of every living being and the important role it plays in our earth community echo system.
The types of gardens I plant are flowers, vegetable, and herbs. There are plants that love to reside in the shade and plants that love the sun. One of the trendiest gardens to plant is the Salsa garden. The necessary vegetables these beds are the early girl tomato for their sweet, juicy taste, also added are tri-colored peppers, red, yellow and green. In keeping with tradition you need to add Jalapeño pepper to your garden for its bite of heat. Last but not least it’s the Cilantro that adds the authentic flavor to any Salsa.
One of the reasons for loss in biodiversity is alteration of habitats. A habitat is the natural environment in which a species of living organism lives. If the habitat of a species is changed, it will cause the species to die or migrate to other places where it can find its natural habitat. There are many ways in which the habitat of plants and animals can be altered. One of them is land use changes. Since the beginning of human life, human beings have been changing land use for farming. Large areas of forests have been cleared by humans to increase the area of farming to satisfy their growing needs. Many biodiversity-rich landscape characteristics have been lost due to intensive farming (Young, Richards, Fischer, Halada, Kull, Kuzniar, Tartes, Uzunov & Watt, 2007). For example, traditional farming was replaced by private farms in Europe after the First World War causing an immense change in land use patterns. Another major proble...
...ocess helps reducing the loss of a large variety of species which is one of the biggest environmental concerns. Many of the vegetables travel in materials such as plastic and cardboard, by the time they arrive at the grocery store they absorb unwanted material and may lose nutrients. Growing your own vegetable garden benefit the environment by reducing the carbon emission and waste created by shipping and packaging vegetables. Environmental benefits of gardens include increasing previous surfaces and allowing for groundwater recharge, improving air quality through the addition of plants to the landscape, beautifying the environment and promoting sustainability. Of course, there are potentially negative environmental impacts associated with gardening the use of power tools uses energy, and water use is rising every year therefor we have to use wells and solar systems.
