According to the article "When Does Education Stop?" it stated that a young man interviewed the author, James Michener, and bellyaching about writing a three thousand words paper which is about James’ book. Because the young man sounded whimpering, James started to talk about his own experience of writing millions words paper. He mentioned that young people should realize that they have to put many efforts in order to achieve their goals. Also, men and women should know that they would face the difficult tasks before they success. Besides, no college can educate people with all they want, and all they need in the future. Although people study literature, logic or history probably have a fewer job opportunities, these fields actually have more wide job opportunities in the future. In addition, the schools are not a relax place. In stead of it, these schools are the places to train people. Therefore, if professors do not give many works for students to study, they should quit those professors or schools and seek others who have harsh teaching rules.
The changes of the social structure caused people tend to learn the high technology instead of studying arts or literature. Some scholars think that people don’t know how to write a good paper, or a nice article because people think it’s too tedious that takes a lot of time to write, to research, and to edit. People love to look for material satisfaction, or participate with things which they are interested in. Therefore, they probably don’t want to spend much time to devote in studying. In my opinion, either having a lot of works or less works has it’s own advantages and disadvantages which depends on person’s own interests.
People usually get different kind of benefits from various things, and it’s hard to determine which is better or not. According to the author, people avoid doing difficult tasks; instead, they just complain about those works. The hard works can develop people’s own knowledge, and that can train their brains to think deeper. People will have better abilities to face the future problems. The more experience people have in college, the better performances they can achieve in the society; for example, the biology students have to do a lot of lab works before they become a medical student even a doctor. If they don’t make any experiment before they become doctors, they probably will make many mistakes during the operation.
In the article “America’s Most Overrated Product: The Bachelor’s Degree” by Marty Nemko, the author argues several different views on why higher education may be very overestimated. For starters, the author shares his opinion more than anything else due to him being a career counselor. The purpose of this essay is to explain to the readers that most people start off with the idea of living the American Dream. Which is practically going to college to have a better life and career. But over the time the idea of working very hard for a Bachelor’s degree has become very dimmed. Furthermore, for some people, when they think of the American Dream they think of hope for bettering themselves and also helping their families. Unlike the author, Nemko feels that even the thought of trying to pursue to get a bachelor’s degree is overrated. As a young girl in school, I always believed that I would one day would be successful and had the hope that a college education would assist me in being successful. I exceled in school even with circumstances such as hurricane Katrina and September 11 and had a thirst for knowledge. In the article “Are too many People Going to College” by Charles Murray a W. H. Brady Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, argues that our educational system needs improvement and that too many people are attending college. Some of Charles arguments on why too many people are attending college are obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree gives you a high paying job, college requires classes that are unnecessary, skill/talent may not need a degree and because they do not want to be labeled as dumb or lazy. Charles Murray makes a lot of good arguments on why too many people are going to college and I concur with his arguments.

They go on to say, "While the average return to obtaining a college degree is clearly positive, we emphasize that it is not universally so. The authors also add that "The main problem is one of selection: if the smartest, most motivated people are both more likely to go to college and more likely to be financially successful, then the observed difference in earning 's by years of education doesn 't measure the true effect of college." (Page 209, Para #2). This means students who do not take advantage of all that college has to offer are not really getting the full experience. Why not invest in four years and come out with the opportunity to make more money? Some students want to go ahead and get school out of the way. Furthering education accumulates lots of debt. He says that it is hard to get students to learn because they have more freedom than they had when they were in school. Students do not have their parents with them to motivate them. Students are more focused on having fun than they are with learning. If students do not learn then they will struggle when it’s time to actually get a job. The author says that they will exhibit the same lack of motivation in their careers. If students do not go to college to learn, then it will actually be a waste of time and money, and they will not get anything out of their career.

For example, if a student is enrolled in four college courses and is in class a minimum of four hours the student should spend at least four to six hours of studying.
