The Naturalistic Evolutionary view of Earth History versus Young-Earth Creation views of Earth History are believed, explained, and established for all living species from the first living cell to the present collection of plant and animal species. Evolution is advanced in response to natural processes, to intervention from God or other deities. Evolution happens impulsively without a goal. Young -Earth creationists will continue to make amazing discoveries and challenges that can point us towards out great Creator and make use of the geological and mechanisms of its formation. The geologic column is a diagram that was formulated and formed throughout the 1800s and was constructed based on patterns of fossils that shows the formations of rocks and their vicinity and area that is decided to indicate their difference of rock units to the portions of geologic time. It is also told in the theoretical classification system that the layers of rocks and fossils are made up …show more content…
the Earth's crust (also known as the standard geologic column). Fossiliferous layers can often be traced across entire continents and associated with rocks in other countries. However, these layers have been given names and assigned dates, and are frequently diagrammed as a cross-sectional column (the geologic column). It is important in the development and studies of the various kinds of rocks (petrology), that they are studied of rock layering (stratigraphy) and the fossils they contain (paleontology). The full sequence of layers was assembled ensuing the study and relationship of the rock layers on many continents, are largely based on the understanding that these layers of sandy rock formed over millions and even billions of years at uniform geologic rates. Noah’s flood and the time that God flooded the entire Earth, by drowning all living things, animals, humans and plants, is one of the most well-known stories in the Old Testament.
This event was told in the Book of Genesis chapter 7 through 8. The length of the flood was 314 days, afterwards Noah remained in the ark for an additional 57 days until the earth was completely dry. Noah had three sons, their names were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Genesis’s tells us by stating this, “And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah fathered Ham, Shem, and Japheth.”.23 ". “Noah took along with himself, his wife, Emzara, the daughter of Rake'el, the daughter of his father's brother” 25. As there was no good man left on the earth except Noah, as God told Noah that this flood would destroy all humans and animals from the whole world. In His Holy words He said, “I (God) will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under heaven; all that is in the earth shall
die.” God told Noah to build an Ark to and prepare from the flood water. God also instructed him how to make the Ark and what the size of the Ark would be. God's word to Noah is found in the Bible.” "Make an Ark of gopher wood for yourself, and you shall make rooms in the ark, and you, shall pitch it inside and outside with pitch.”36
It rained for forty days and nights during the Great Flood while Noah with his family and animals stayed on the ark.
Both the Theogony and the Creation in Genesis show nature as a blessing for humans but with negative affects, However the myths differ in the ways that the Earth and humans were created and how humans interact with the deities of the creation stories. These differences include how Gods treat humans and why the Gods/God created Earth. These stories are still being passed on in today’s world and are two of the most influential creation stories to have ever been written. The similarities and differences in the creation stories show that different cultures and religions throughout the world really aren’t that far off from each other.
These so-called “creation-scientists” have disputed the evidence in support of a young earth. They have added their own measurements and observations, as well as interpreted other scientists’ data, in an attempt to convince others of the possibility and ultimately, the “truth” of a young earth, one that is no more than 6,000 to 10,000 years old.
Thus god decided to clean Earth. “I will blot out from the earth the human beings I have created people together with animals and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them” (5). After his word, only Noah, his family, and every one pair of animal could survive. After the flood, God blessed Noah and set the rainbow as a sign that he would never flood the earth again. However, Noah got drunk and cursed Ham’s son Canaan. “Blessed by the Lord my god Shem; and let Canaan be his slave. May god make space for Japheth, and let him live in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave” (7). Moreover, the Lord said “Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do” (8). And he build Tower of Babel to prevent human’s previous faults. And then, the god scattered them abroad and confused language of all the world. In Genesis 12, the god sent Abram to Egypt. In Egypt, Abram lied that Sarai is his sister and the Pharaoh took her. However, Pharaoh was cursed by god and sent back her to Abram. I believe that without coursing of the god, Sarai could come
6-11: The "son of God" came down and married daughters. Some think they were fallen angels but angels can get married or have relations. The lord gave Noah 120 years to change. Then Noah builds the arch. He tells him to get 2 of every animal, a male and a mate. Tells him in seven days they will be rains and a flood. Was the flood local or universal, I think we talked about that enough in class. After 40 days Noah sent the bird out and it came back with positive report.
The story of Noah’s Ark begins with God being upset at mankind's wickedness. He decides to destroy it with a flood. God new Noah was righteous and told him to build an ark so he would be safe from the rain. Noah did so and took aboard his family and pairs of every kind of animal. It rained for forty days and nights, until the highest mountains were covered. Then God sent a wind and the waters receded, and the...
The arguments that many Young Earth Creationists make for their belief and against evolution are that fossils were created through the great Flood, the literal belief in Genesis, and that radiocarbon dating used in Evolution is too imprecise to prove that the Earth is older than 10,000 years.
After the events on the boat regarding the twin children, Noah acts as if he has failed God for being unable to murder the two and carry out his plan, implying that God had actually wished for and expected Noah to murder his grandchildren. This played into portraying both God and Noah as vicious and cruel. In the story written in the Bible, God had chosen Noah to build the ark because he was the only one without wickedness present in his heart. However, he is featured in the film as one who was cold-hearted and would be willing to do anything to ensure that there would not be a future for
The information presented in evolution studies must be viewed with an open mind since there is no definite proof or law of evolution. The dilemma boils down to science vs. religion. God has been our creator since beginning of time, but the discoveries of recent science are sudde...
“The scientific study of how humans developed did not begin until the 1800s in Europe. Until that time, people relied on religious explanations of how humans came into existence. Starting in the 1500s a scientific revolution began to sweep Europe. Thinkers started using scientific methods and experiments to try to better understand the world and the creatures living in it. Eventually these methods were turned to the question of human origins” (The Nature Of Human Origins, 1). Earth made it possible for species to change over time because Ancient Earth provides ability to plenty of time. The Homo Sapien a is very complex creature. The species started off very simple by living in caves and surviving with little food and then later evolved into a species that were able to do many more complex things. The first species was Sahelanthropus tchadensis They were one of the most simple humans in that time period and on. They had very small skulls compared to Homo Sapiens today and their motor skills were just the same. We have evolved and changed for the better both mentally and physically. The Evolution of Homo Sapiens started off simple, such as the Neanderthals, and now we are the most advanced species to ever walk the planet so far.
This once again my belief in creationism and creation in perspective. I currently believe that God did create the earth , but science use it for humans to understand . He has access to the man free will , and we are currently using it to try to understand the creation for us , and how / where / when it happened . I also believe that once the necessary events on earth took place , we not only know how the earth was created it, be it creationism , evolution, or even something else that we do not know , but also how it will end .
In the Mesopotamian version: the gods apparently displeased with the evils of mankind decided to destroy it by means of a great flood. Ea, the god of wisdom and subtlety, was privy to their council and warned Utnapishtim, the Babylonian Noah, of the coming disaster. Utnapishtim was told to build a ship thirty cubits long and thirty cubits wide. Provision it and put in it specimens of every living thing. Then to board it with his family and possessions and launch it on the waters.
Evolution views life to be a process by which organisms diversified from earlier forms, whereas creation illustrates that life was created by a supernatural being. Creation and evolution both agree on the existence of microevolution and the resemblance of apes and humans but vary in terms of interpreting the origins of the life from a historical standpoint. A concept known as Faith Vs Fact comprehensively summarizes the tone of this debate, which leads to the question of how life began. While creation represents a religious understanding of life, evolution acknowledges a scientific interpretation of the origins of life. The theory is illustrated as the process by which organisms change species over time.
The second argument for a worldwide flood is its time, or duration, on the earth. From a careful study of the Genesis flood account, scholars believe that the flood, from start to finish, lasted 371 days. This period can be broken into two parts: prevailing (rising) and assuaging (subsiding). The prevailing of the flood waters lasted about twenty-one weeks. Most likely, the waters reached their peak in the first 40 days, during which “the widows of heaven were opened (Gen. 7:11),” and then maintained they height for another 110 days (7:4, 12, 24). After God sent a wind to stop the prevailing waters (8:1), the assuaging lasted about thirty-one weeks. In verses 2 -3 of Genesis chapter 8, the Bible says, “The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained. And the waters receded continually from
Noah was righteous man amongst the unrighteous. When God saw the evil in the world he told Noah to build an ark and save himself, his family, two of every animal, and anyone who believed, but no one did. Though it took many years to build the people just saw Noah as an insane man and could not be saved for they did not believe. They were warned, but only mocked and so they perished in the flood. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. When it was over God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign that God would never flood the Earth again.
