Du Tenth is the heroine in ”Du Tenth Sinks The Jewel Box in Anger” from Common Words to Warn the World which is written by Feng Meng-long(1574-1646). Du Tenth was a brothel girl who received by the oppression but still keep her unyielding disposition. She put all her hope on Li Jia to save her and beginning new life. However, Li Jia break faith with Du Tenth and sell her to Sun Fu. All thoughts are blasted, she thundered to Li Jia and Sun Fu. Then, throw the Jewel Box in river and jump into the river.
In term of Du Tenth’s personality, it is also one reason of her love tragedy. First of all, she is wise, smart and scheming. For instance, she was always ready for redeem herself. She caught a sentence and reached a verbal contract when she was arguing with procuress. This shows that her scheming thinking and her hard work paid to fight for the freedom of happiness.
Secondly, she is strong and steadfast. For example, she was painful and angry when she heard that Li Jia take Sun Fu at his word and Li betrayed her. Then, Du’s sneer shows her personal dignity, and her doughty. Eventually, she was using her beautiful look to protect her personality’s grace and human dignity.
Some professors prefer to put tragedy of Du due to Sun Fu and Li Jia. We can see some social issue from these two people’s personality, which is money, and power corrupts the human nature. In addition, this also shows that the disregards and teasing of women dignity from traditional concept. These are the reason of Du’s tragedy.

...ot give happy ending to them, but show Du’s excellent and uncommon pursuing. The love that Du looking for is whatever love and death are both without regret. This emotion cannot base on gain or loss and advantages or disadvantages, but base on mutual understanding, appreciate and attract among people. This kind of emotional is the most pure in the world. In my point of view, she is a loyal woman, and knowing her own worth. She felt betrayed and abandoned because the money and jewels she carried with her was worth ten times to the amount of Li Jia trade her for. This shows that a wise and strong woman always has a second plan. Her plan for Li Jia was to set up dignity for him so that he can get back in good graces with his father. Since Li lets his father down by taking up with prostitute. However, Li lets Du down as well as the tough woman dies with a broken heart.
Feng Menglong's short story, "Du Tenth Sinks the Jewel Box in Anger," a portrayal of those ages, is a great example of the way

Finally, even though, for a long time, the roles of woman in a relationship have been established to be what I already explained, we see that these two protagonists broke that conception and established new ways of behaving in them. One did it by having an affair with another man and expressing freely her sexuality and the other by breaking free from the prison her marriage represented and discovering her true self. The idea that unites the both is that, in their own way, they defied many beliefs and started a new way of thinking and a new perception of life, love and relationships.
Although, he tries to better himself, Yunior’s awful treatment to women prohibit him from attaining a significant connection with them. His dishonesty erodes his strength, health, and his relationships with not only women, but his family and friends. Yunior realizes that his own heartbreak was his own fault due to betraying his fiance. His language of objectifying women only makes the reader see how disrespectful he is towards females. His words and actions towards his past lovers make him regretful and guilty for the hurt he put them though. He becomes aware of the fact that he lost someone precious which leads him to feel remorse for himself. His chaotic love life forces him to understand that he is horrible in the way he treats and views women, the relationship with his ex fiance was a real learning experience for him, and cheaters never

There are emotions between them and it makes things complicated. Lina always repeat they will both back to their families finally. So when Lina’s husband comes to America, Lina leaves Panbin’s apartment and lives with his husband. Lina’s mind is restricted by Chinese traditional thoughts which from what she said to Panbin, “married woman with a husband.”(178). She always wants to improve that she is an obedient good girl because she has rigid adherence. Even though she has already fallen in love with Panbin actually, she hides this truth. In China, if you have married with someone, you need to keep the loyalty and responsibilities. Thus, the slave to convention make she feels more helpless. Lina falls into the centripetal circle and she doesn’t have the Third Eye to pursue the freedom. That’s the result that she jumps into self-fulfilling prophecy loop. Unfortunately, Lina’s husband, Zuming, is taking advantage of her to pay tuition for his business school and he treats her not as well as Panbin. Heartless reciprocity, which means need a
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a love story that has been read for hundreds of years and is still studied today. The story is about a young boy and a young girl who are in love with each other but both of their lives end in tragedy. Many of the play’s character’s actions affect the outcome of the play, but no character can be put to blame of the outcome. The one thing that these events can be credited to is fate. Fate did many things in the play, such as caused Romeo and Juliet to meet and it caused Romeo to believe Juliet was dead.
The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.”- C. JoyBell C.
Romeo’s numerous rash decisions demonstrates his great impulsiveness. Romeo at first grieves over his unreciprocated love for Rosaline, but after he sees Juliet; he forgets about Rosaline entirely. His hastiness leads him to make decisions that are not intelligent or to his benefit. Shortly after meeting Juliet, he asks her to “exchange [her] faithful vow” for his ( 2.2.132). Romeo’s recklessness is evident that he does not think before he makes important decisions; prompting him to propose to Juliet just hours after their first meeting. Yet the morning before, Romeo was suffering from depression because he could never have his Rosaline. After what seems like a lifetime of loving Rosaline and promising to never love anyone but her, Romeo sees Juliet and instantaneously all his thoughts of Rosaline vanish. Romeo becomes infatuated with Juliet, with whom he exchanges less then fifty words before “falling in love.” The next morning he begs Friar L...
