Our world has a lot of problems that people fail to realize to see. The world have problems that need and can be solved. We don’t have to sit here and see our world like this and watch our population decrease. One problem I have realized is drug abuse. Drug abuse is being addicted to taking illegal drugs. This is something a lot of younger people such as teens or middle age people do. This is also something that brings our population down because this can kill hundreds of people. Most kids or teens do this type of activity, and they suppose to be our future, the ones that suppose to make a difference in this world, but how are they suppose to make a difference in our world if there are none living. This type of activity needs to stop and read to find out how we can end this problem. To begin with, all kids have friends right ? Well most kids have that one friend or that group of friends that be trying to “ peer pressure” them into doing things such as drugs. Peer pressure is basically the pressure on you to do something that you don’t wanna do, but they are pressuring you into doing it. Anyways that’s a lot going on …show more content…
This Isn't something that’ll happen over night. Some people have a hard time saying goodbye to drugs, I know this because study says that people that are addicted to drugs and wanna stop is a big step for them, and it’ll be very hard for them . However just because they may have stop doing drugs does not mean everything is all good and they’re going to be okay. In the article “ Why is it so hard to quit drugs,’ states that after doing drugs the person have relearn how to live without drugs, they have to stay away from people who douse drugs, and etc. I mean yes, it is good that they quit but you have to keep working with them to make sure they don’t go back to doing drugs and to keep them
Drug dogs are classified into three categories – those that are aggressive, those that are compulsive, and those that are very laid back. These dogs go through very extensive training before performing their tasks. Training takes anywhere from three to twelve weeks. Dogs come out of this training with different types of personalities.
Inappropriate drug use causes loss of responsibility, illnesses, marriage difficulties, shorter life spans, financial struggles, theft, accidents, lack of parenting, bad role models and more laws. Now I’m not saying all the problems are only do to drugs and if there was appropriate drug use our society would be perfect, no I’m saying drug use in our society has made an impact and in this case not for the better. The cost of inappropriate drug use to society is something that many overlook and others simply don’t care to recognize
One of the largest concerns within our nation is opioid dependence and the rise in abuse rates of medicinal and illicit opioids. Many illicit and medicinal drugs such as Morphine and Heroin, come from the internal secretions of the opium poppy plant (Papaver somniferum) and are highly available and acclaimed for their analgesic and euphoric effects within the general population (Veilleux et al., 2010). Veilleux et al. (2010) concluded that given these properties of opioids there is a dangerously high potential for abuse. Dependence on these drugs can be linked to a variety of aspects within an individual’s life such as health and social problems, which may include increased chances for legal issues, mortality, unemployment, psychotic episodes, and HIV. For these reasons and many others, Opioid addiction is considered a chronic disease with high potential for relapse and needs to be considered as a public health concern.
Many people today view alcohol and drugs very differently than how they were portrayed years ago. In earlier years, there were not that many drugs that were used to save lives as the several different types of drugs that are used today. Today there are drugs used for different treatments for all kinds of diseases. Drugs are a business in which makes billions of dollars, both legally and illegally. Society views drugs majority of the time as something for saving lives, helping society for the better, but many don’t realize the millions of lives it’s destroying. Substance abuse from alcohol, illegal drugs to over the counter drugs and cigarettes can go from a casual once and a while thing to becoming an addiction. Substance abuse can be a huge gateway to addiction that can escalate very quickly. A lot of the time we convince ourselves that people chose to do these drugs so frequently, that addiction is a willing option they do to them-selves. Substance abuse and addiction are more than an individual problem it is a social issue.
The little and lack of understanding of drugs is what has us as people constantly abusing them. Even if you try to educate people about the problems that deal with drugs they will still do them because of the benefits that they offer or just because they feel like doing them. From past experience I can say that schools at a young age teach students about the drugs but because the words and terms for the brain and areas that are affected by the drugs are so complicated I can see why kids at a younger age would not understand them. Maybe if we find a way we can educate our future generation we might be able to stop the abuse of drugs. Enforcing laws like we have on marijuana might help or lessen the abuse of drugs but we have to find way to help stop the abuse of certain drugs in order to prosper our lives and futures.
The influence between friends telling others to try some new things like smoking and hanging around the people you don’t know and who they don’t like can cause them peer pressure on others.
The world has many different issues, and without them the world would be a perfect place. An issue that causes a lot of controversy is drug abuse. Though the world can never be a perfect place, humans still need to do our best to make in inhabitable as possible, and drugs cause a lot of harm towards humans. Therefore, it is my belief that the first thing that needs to be fixed should be drugs and their abuse. Many possible solutions to this problem exist.
I have seen my friends and family become addictive to some kind of drug. I know many college students and even younger kids become regular users of drugs. This is a big problem in our society of young men and women. Our youth is the future of the country. If they are being hooked on to drugs that are messing with their mind and health, then this country will not advance in the
Peer pressure is the influence from members of one’s peer group. Peer pressure affect many school aged children, and teenager, because of the desire to want to fit in. Affects of giving into peer pressure can lead to taking drugs, drinking alcohol, and having sex. By researching
Teen Drug Use I once read in an article “Some teens use alcohol or drugs to dull the pain in their lives”. When they are given a choice to take something to make them temporarily feel better, many cannot resist” (Look). The use of drugs will [affect] the everyday lives of many teenagers today. Throughout history, more and more teenagers have turned to the use of drugs to help them through their everyday struggles. Many teens often feel as if they cannot deal with the everyday pain they may be going through.
To begin with, the people who are addicted to drugs are hard to get rid of taking. Normally, a lot of people assumed that because of the lack of moral principles and willpower, the drug abusers cannot stop abusing through changing their behavior (NIH 2012). But in the real world, giving up abusing takes more than strongly will, because the ways of brain is changed by drugs that enhance the compulsive drug abuse. As a result, it is difficult of drug users to stop abusing the drugs.
In order to get rid of drugs the basic thing that an addict should do is to admit that he cannot control his addiction. He should admit that he needs help. It is always better to rely upon a super power, which can give him strength. The person on the path of recovery should be motivated to examine his past mistakes so that he can take remedial steps. A new life style must be inculcated in him so that he learns to live a new
After interviewing my teenage cousin whom has been in several altercations at home and school, enlightened me on the ways that teenagers in her age group gets involved in drug use. Kids start as young as ten years of age using, selling, and experimenting with drugs. My teenage cousin was expelled from public schools when she started experimenting with drugs. She was surrounded by many challenges when she enrolled in the alternative behavioral school. Many students, whom attend the alternative behavioral school use drugs, sell drugs, are on probation, have been arrested, engage in sexual activity and drink alcohol.
In conclusion drug addiction is a very terrible and challenging problem. It affects individuals, families, and the people around them. It is important that drug addicts realize that they must want to stop and seek help for the problem. The drug addict needs the support of friends and family, so they can make it through this process. The process to recover from drug addiction can take a lifetime. There is hope for a drug addict who wants to change their life for the better.
They begin to be social and making new friends. After being around a certain friend for so long, they will do anything to remain friends will them. If they fail at a certain point, the teenagers start to imitate them. Then the teenagers will develop low self-esteem. That is where drugs, alcohol, tattoos and disrespect are put into effect. Amy Bobrow, of the Child Study Center at New York University School of Medicine stated in the Davis’s article, “Even fewer teens regularly use illegal substances -- less than 25% of those who try them -- which means the majority do not.” Teenagers without supervision can cause them to do plenty of horrible things such as coming in late at night, sneaking out, and illegal substance use.
