“A dream is a wish your heart makes” (Walt Disney). These immortal words were spoken by none other than the one and only Walter Elias Disney. Better known as Walt Disney, he’s one of the most successful dreamers of all time as proved by his worldwide company. He’s the perfect example of dreams leading to success, made evident by the current size of his company with 5 resorts worldwide and almost 60 years of amazing unbeatable hospitality and service. The three most predominate things that led to his success were his love of the job, his perseverance against all odds and his genuine passion for bringing joy to everyone in the world especially children and families.
The truth of how to make your dreams come true lies in the life of the great Walt Disney. Disney was just a man on going to Hollywood with a sketch of a mouse, and the courage to pursue his dream of filling each child's mind with endless wonder. “Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money.” He truly loved his job and cared about children. He was a smoker, but he wouldn’t smoke in front of people because he didn’t want kids to know. He did so much to make the world a better place. He put everything he had on the line, and even though money was not a part of his goal, it was a major problem. It takes a lot of money to pursue dreams of that size. But for every penny, Walt was willing to put in the work and give up anything he had , to make this dream come true. He persevered against all odds.
Disney’s perseverance was amazing! He faced a lot to get his company to the point it’s at today. When he was young, he was fired from a newspaper because his boss believed he lacked creativity. He went on to form an animation company called Laugh-O-Gram Films. He used his natural sales talent to raise $15,000 ($181,000 today). Unfortunately afterwards he made a deal with a NY company that closed down which forced him to close his company. He was beaten down, but he wasn’t defeated. He kept going! He worked at Universal Studios for a while. He soon discovered that a character he created had been secretly patented by Universal and they practically fired him.
The stereotypical fights between men and women have been very controversial since as long as we can all remember. No one had thought about how much issues that had to deal with our gender would cause to everyone or have thought about the stereotypes this would impact on us.
