Dramatic Monologue of Katie Henderson- Original Writing
Katie Henderson is sixteen and has just finished her final year at
school. Katie lives in a three-bedroom country cottage with her
mother, father and older sister Lucie.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Katie is a pretty girl with long brunette hair and a petite figure.
She has had a very good upbringing and an excellent education; Katie
attended a private school since the age of ten and left with six A
stars, four A’s and a B, all at G.C.S.E level.
Out of school hours Katie attends a lot of clubs including dancing,
singing lessons and an amateur dramatics club.
Katie is sitting alone on her four-poster bed. Her bedroom is very
girly with lilac walls and matching bed linen. She is surrounded by
cuddly toys and has a Robbie Williams calendar hanging on the wall
above her pillows.
It’s the show in just three days now; nobody seems to understand how
much I don’t want to do this. Personally I don’t see the point in me
being in it, I mean I’ve only been given one song and two dances; and
neither of them are solo’s. My song is a solo, but I hate singing.
Peter made me do it. He chose the song; he chose the costume. Peter
gets what Peter wants. He told me about two weeks ago that I would be
singing ‘My Immortal’ by Evanescence. He said that when I sing that
song he could see the passion shine through my eyes. The only passion
I show him is my passionate hatred for him and his pathetic singing
lessons. I hardly even know the lyrics because I kept avoiding
rehearsals. So when mum sees me standing there in my almost absent
costume, singing a song I obviously don’t know she’ll go mental. You
see, when she drops me off at Peters every Monday night she thinks I’m
actually going to have a singing lesson, that’s not always the case.
Normally I take the tenner she gives me to pay Peter, walk to the offy
“Straining his eyes, he saw the lean figure of General Zaroff. Then... everything went dark. Maggie woke up in her bed. “Finally woke up from that nightmare. Man… I miss my brother. Who was that person that my brother wanted to kill?” she looks at the clock and its 9:15am “Crap I’m late for work!” Maggie got in her car and drove to the hospital for work.
I am the wife of an innocent dead man. I raised three without a father. People see us as less. We are the Robinson, and me I’m Helen Robinson. Living in the deep south in the 1930’s wineries. The Depression affected most everyone in Maycomb except for us. All of the blacks in the county live in one area outside of the landfill. I lived on the edge of farm which grows acres of cotton every year. We were a poor family that sharecropped. There weren't many people in Maycomb who treated us kindly except for Mr. Link Deas and the Finches. One year the white trash family accused my Tom for a serious crime that he never did. For months we never saw him due to the polices never let blacks and women in. The Finches and neighbours came and helped during
The concept for this script, in its simplicity, was wildly creative and holds true to the popular phrase, “be careful what you wish for.” The writer really did a great job of keep the reader engaged in the narrative with the unpredictability of the wishes and the Josie’s escalated involvement with Stan’s character.
Judy pov Judy had been sleeping yesterday after what happened it wasn’t that late and she still had classes to go to but, she didn’t, not with her face mark like that. Needless to say it was an awkward day as her and Nick were basically trapped together in the room. It had been two days
Oh dear! I can't believe what I just did, it was so hilarious, I hope
Ken Kesey and Arthur Miller illustrate an analytical opinion on their own society’s inconsistencies and inequality through their texts using various techniques inclusively symbolism, authorial voice, metaphors and points of view, which urges the reader to question their own society. Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a dramatic novel, which explores the confinements of a psychiatric ward in the 1950’s and the corruption within the system to express the discrimination and prejudice against individuals within the American society. While Miller’s historical drama The Crucible, which is set in 1692 Salem, emphasises on how hysteria

Hola, Reyna and Alejandro are always happy to hear how you and your family are doing. Alejandro said that Nevlyn doesn't look like the little blond boy that would ride his bike up and down the street. We are all really sorry to hear about your friend Ellen. I hope those little boys find some "mom love" in you, like we did when we needed some extra cuddles. I'm happy to hear that you still use your Spanish a lot in and out of work. Nevertheless, I'm sure your Spanish has evolved into a Puerto Rican/Cuban accent.
Vicki Murphy is an award-winning blogger and writer. In this current work she writes about her experience of being a mother of two young children who are constantly in her vicinity. Murphy uses multiple metaphors, allusions and parallel structure to express her life as a mother trying to write while children are around. An example of her use of metaphors is shown when she compares her son chewing like a “BABY GOAT” showing her humorous side. Comparing her son to a goat could be a connection to how young her child is to where they would chew like that. This shows some insight to what she sees while working which leads to distractions showing how hard a mother has to work compared to other writers. Living in an environment full of children can
Blanche Dubois, a refined and delicate woman plagued by bad nerves, makes her first appearance in scene one of A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. She unexpectedly arrives in New Orleans to visit her sister Stella Kowalski who ran away after their father’s death. Upon their reunion, Blanche is sharp-tongued and quick to state her shock over the unsavory status of the apartment in comparison to the luxurious plantation where the two sisters were raised. Though dissatisfied by the living conditions, Blanche quickly explains that she had been given leave of absence from her teaching position due to bad nerves and could not stand being left alone—her excuse to invite herself to stay with Stella for an undetermined period of time. Throughout history, society has been predominately patriarchal. The male is seen as the primary authority figure. This system is often displayed in many family structures and there is nothing wrong with patriarchy; however when it leads to kyriarchy, it becomes an issue. Women, past and present, are often viewed as second rate citizens. Over half the work force around the world consists of women and yet they are paid 77 cents to a dollar of what a man earns (Shane). Women have a voice and deserve to be heard. When analyzing works such as “Hills Like White Elephants” by Ernest Hemmingway, the poem “Stations” by Audre Lorde, and “Sweat” by Zora Neale Hurston, one can observe the common theme of women finding their voice, discovering strength and standing up for what’s right.
How the Poem Stealing by Carol Ann Duffy Creates a Sense of a Real Person Speaking
Before one may analyse a poem, I feel that one must analyse its foundation, its inspiration, its very reason for being - in order to truly understand and appreciate the poets work. So, it stands to reason, that I must first analyse the quote from Shakespeare's will, before addressing the poem itself, as Carol Ann Duffy has drawn our attention to it.
