Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 accurately portrays a world in which addictive technologies desensitize society and as a result, make them more prone towards inappropriate behaviors. In today’s society, highly addicting video games involving strong violence and language, explicit sexuality and crime often lead to inappropriate behaviors. Role playing games or RPGs allow us to step into a virtual world, cutting ourselves off from worldly distractions. Nowadays, the age range for people who play these extremely graphic games are anywhere from six to eighteen and are surprisingly hazardous to young children’s health. A study gave a group of players playing a violent video game the chance to blast a painful sound into their opponent's ear in order to get the upper advantage. They also gave another group playing non violent games, the same opportunity. The study showed that overall the gamers playing violent video games were more prone to inflict more pain on their enemies, unlike the other group who inflicted considerably less pain. Kelly McGonigal, Ph.D who did this study agrees, “violent video games desensitize players to violence, and makes them more violent in real life" (McGonigal). Young adults are exposed to these terrifying images, harming their mental health. In recent events, a young eight year old boy shot his grandmother after playing Grand Theft Auto. This game is the epitome of why young people should not be playing these games. It is comprised of murder, drug and alcohol abuse, criminal behavior, violence and general disrespect for women, and foul language. In summary, young people should not be playing these games in order to save their mental health. Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles are similar to Mildred, they say they voted on the last president simply for his looks. They don’t care about any of the important qualities only the superficial ones. Montag is further shocked when they talk so nonchalant about the war and their family’s, saying “(Insert quote here” (Bradbury ). This in addition, proves that not only is television addictive but can desensitize you from earthly troubles. Television allows you to step into a different world, and when Mildred’s friends are forced to come back from it, they cry and are angry. Montag forced them to comfort their disgraceful dismal of family ethics, decline of the upcoming war, and neglect of the high rates of suicide in their society. Technology; the use of science in industry, engineering, etc., to invent useful things or to solve problems. It is amazing how technologies significantly affect human as well as other animal species' ability to control and adapt to their natural environments. It affected us so much we use technology for alternatives uses; Entertainment. However, can it improve the human conditions or worsen it? In the book, Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury describes the negative ways of how technology could ruin our lives in alternative ways. Technology could create a lifestyle with too much stimulation that no one would has time to think or concentrate. It can rule us and control our mind, but worse, it can replace humanity. Ray Bradbury overall message/opinion of Fahrenheit 451 is how technology is bad for alternatives ways for people.
Bradbury predicted this accurately in Fahrenheit 451 and teaches a lesson to this day. Current society should better appreciate culture and how things used to be before they were automatic. Fahrenheit 451 opens eyes and shows just how much society has developed to easier and more technological ways.
With all this technology they are just letting their life get controlled and brainwashed.Over all, Bradbury did a nice explaining how technology affects relationships in the society of Fahrenheit 451. Technology at the same time could be good in the novel but Bradbury makes it look like it’s more serious and dangerous. Most of the people in this society are getting distracted by all this technology which most of the time this technology doesn’t bring anything good. Montag resides in a very advanced technological world whereas in our society, we live in a technological world that is not as advanced. When Montag asks Mildred what’s playing on the TV, she describes a show that’s about to play where the person watching the TV also becomes a character. She is given a script and throughout the show, the characters will involve her in conversations and she has to read what’s on her script, “‘It’s really fun. It’ll be even more fun when we can afford to have the fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV put in? It’s only two thousand dollars.’ ‘That’s one-third of my yearly pay,’ ‘It’s only two thousand dollars,’ she replied,” (18). In this conversation, Mildred wants to get a fourth wall TV put in but Montag says no because it costs too much.
Identity and modernization are affecting the world, fiction or nonfiction. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Montag the main character comes into conflicts with many characters when he starts to question what everyone else just accepts. Clarisse, a peculiar teenager, opens his eyes to this new way of thinking, which cause him problems, but was the best thing for him. In the story Fahrenheit 451 the character Montag struggles with technology and modernization along with identity, he struggles with these because of he isn't sure who he is, there are to many distractions that won't let him figure who he is, and nobody will tell him what's actually going on in the world in government behind the parlor walls and the other distractions.
One thing that is important to note in Bradbury’s writing is, that even though we may have technological advancements in today’s society, for better or worse, we cannot forget the important things in life. Mildred in this story, represented a mindless drone that technology has gotten the better of. Her role indicates that technology may cause the loss of personal interactions between people. We must not forget that without the original ways of doing some things, there may be no way to advance. The loss of personal interaction, can cause the lack of advancement due to the lack of knowledge, therefore, we have to mix the old along with the new. This way we as a society, will not rely too heavily on the reliance of technology in modern and future times.

(TS) Ray Bradbury’s message in Fahrenheit 451 is that technology is controlling everyone’s lives, it’s turning them into zombies, and only by separating yourself from it can you heal from the damage dealt to your humanity.
The knowledge in Fahrenheit 451 can teach everyone a lesson. Ray Bradbury's writing has some accurate and some not accurate predictions about the future. Fahrenheit 451 had many futuristic ideas of mechanical dogs working for the firemen. The firemen work not to stop fires, but start them to burn books. Montag, a fireman, has had a change in morality of his job. His actions cause him to be in trouble with Beaty, the head fireman, which then Montag kills. Many of Bradbury's warnings are true or coming true. While, Bradbury's predictions about technology taking over and the society dying by war come true. But, some kids still work hard and talk to family.
People use technology in everyday life. Without phones, they wouldn't be able to call. anyone. I'm not sure what to do. Without iPads, children might not be able to check social media or watch Netflix.

According to Henry Jenkins, an American Media Scholar and professor at MIT, “young people in general are more likely to be gamers —90 percent of boys and 40 percent of girls play.” That is an overwhelming amount of young people. In recent years, there have been incidents such as the Columbine school shooting which have shown young people committing terrible acts of violence. In the case of the Columbine shooting, the teenagers who committed the shooting were both found to be avid players of a violent computer video game known as Doom (Ferguson, 26). This has raised lawmakers and concerned parents to begin opposing violence in video games. These people believe that video games (and violent video games in particular) can cause young people to become extremely desensitized to violence, and in turn cause them to commit acts of violence that they would not have committed otherwise. However, these people fail to realize that our youths have been exposed to violence far longer than modern media has been around. For example, Wired.com writer Michael Venables points out that many of our classic fairy tales deal with violent conditions. He reminds people that “Cinderella’s evil stepsisters have their eyes pecked out by doves.” and “Hansel and Gretel kill their captor by baking her in an oven.” People who oppose video games pose a major threat to the development of youth in our modern society, because video games can have many positive effects on young people.

Montag’s journey is actually the author’s social commentary on the negative aspects of the 1950s. His examples of technology and violence can be connected to the theme of social commentary.
Every day they would have the same routine with their eyes glued to the television screen and almost no real face to face conversations. They became more interested in the imaginative digital world rather than what was actually occurring. Mildred for example was an example of this, as she didn’t care about anything other than her television. Her own husband was like a random person on the street to her. First, Montag asks Mildred“When did we meet and where?....... I don’t know” (Montag asking Mildred Pg.43) In this scene, Montag is curious to know where he and Mildred, his wife, first met. She replies that she doesn’t remember. This proves how Mildred became so indulged into the digital world that she can’t even remember a moment that would be monumental to another persons life. Instead, Mildred is more intrigued by the fascinations of the people behind the screen. Next, Mildred doesn’t care about life itself anymore and is driven to the point of near s suicide. Montag, after noticing the pills in the bottle all gone, confronts Mildred saying, “You took all the pills in your bottle last night” (Pg.19). This signifies Mildreds underlying unhappiness.
