Time catches up with you. There is no doubt about it, and there is no way you are ever going from escape it. That's the harsh truth. It's not something you often think about, is it? Especially when you are young, why would it be? But as you grow older, much older that is, it beats harmoniously with the rhythm of your heart and becomes a constant reminder to you of what has been and what will be. But time is, of course, beautiful, and every moment should be cherished because time is absolutely everything. Donnie Lockwood thought about his life a great deal; even more so now that things became quieter. Quieter for him, you understand, in his little bubble, but not in Linmore Valley, where he lived. Donnie took a long, deep breath and slowly let it out. The noise outside never bothered him, in fact, he embraced it. He regarded it as his alarm clock, and it also helped to keep the noise out of his head, or the silence to be more precise. Today the forecast was another beautiful day. It had been the entire week. He half-opened his eyes, catching the white dust motes bouncing over the sunlight that shone down upon the empty side of his bed, he twisted to face it. His eyes slowly came into focus. He was looking at Ellie in their wedding photo. "Happy Birthday Darling," he said, clasping the pillow. "Sixty-eight today... Where has the time gone eh? Well... we both know that, don't we? " He swung his legs out of bed, took the photo in his hand and sat on the edge. He remained still for a moment, not in thought, but as if he was listening for something. "I know you're here," he said. "One-day Ellie, one day." Tears were never far away if he thought of her for any length of time, so he tried not to.
