Time catches up with you. There is no doubt about it, and there is no way you are ever going from escape it. That's the harsh truth. It's not something you often think about, is it? Especially when you are young, why would it be? But as you grow older, much older that is, it beats harmoniously with the rhythm of your heart and becomes a constant reminder to you of what has been and what will be. But time is, of course, beautiful, and every moment should be cherished because time is absolutely everything. Donnie Lockwood thought about his life a great deal; even more so now that things became quieter. Quieter for him, you understand, in his little bubble, but not in Linmore Valley, where he lived. A town that never stops from sunrise …show more content…
Donnie took a long, deep breath and slowly let it out. The noise outside never bothered him, in fact, he embraced it. He regarded it as his alarm clock, and it also helped to keep the noise out of his head, or the silence to be more precise. Today the forecast was another beautiful day. It had been the entire week. He half-opened his eyes, catching the white dust motes bouncing over the sunlight that shone down upon the empty side of his bed, he twisted to face it. His eyes slowly came into focus. He was looking at Ellie in their wedding photo. "Happy Birthday Darling," he said, clasping the pillow. "Sixty-eight today... Where has the time gone eh? Well... we both know that, don't we? " He swung his legs out of bed, took the photo in his hand and sat on the edge. He remained still for a moment, not in thought, but as if he was listening for something. "I know you're here," he said. "One-day Ellie, one day." Tears were never far away if he thought of her for any length of time, so he tried not to. Time certainly isn't much of a healer as people say it is. Memories don't ever leave you, especially the good ones, and that was nearly all of them with

Ten year old Esther Burr creates a cheerful, reminiscent journal entry describing her day out with her father by using sophisticated word choice and an informal sentence structure. Burr’s purpose is to reveal her adoration for her father with flattering words and to also describe her day with such detail that she won’t forget it. She develops a complimentary tone in order to not only have a good memory of her father later in life, but also to appeal to her mother, who regularly reads her diary.
She picked a seat in the way back, away from all the people. She silently stared out the window making a quiet list inside her head of all the things she had forgotten and all the people she remembered. Tears silently slid down her face as she remembered her aunt crying and cousins afraid of the dark in their house. She couldn’t do it anymore. It was the best for everyone she thought. Deep down though she knew how hard it would be for everyone to find out she was leaving. From her family’s tears, to the lady in the grocery store who was always so kind and remembered her name. She also knew how

...te anxiety. Only good memories came from there, memories of me and Derek. I opened my eyes, and my thoughts were shattered by sobbing people and brilliantly colored flowers. My face burned, while my body shivered. As I returned to reality, I realized the pastor had asked for anyone who wanted to share memories of Derek to do so. Listening to the memories being shared, I shyly hopped to my feet. I quickly made my speech about what Derek meant to me and sank back into my seat. After the funeral service ended, I made my way to my car and drove home in complete silence.
Alice Walker combines the importance of time and place in Everyday Use. The story occurs in 1960’s during the African-American Civil Rights Movement. This was the time when African-Americans struggle with prejudice and poverty. They desire to maintain their minimal gain during the World War II and to define their personal identities as well as their heritage. The argument over family quilts takes place at the Deep South, where there are many African Americans, which match perfectly with the lifestyle the characters have in the story.

It was a cold, dark morning when the phone rang. It was boisterously loud and the clock read six o'clock. The deafening noise jolted us again, and there was only one way to make it stop. Chris picked up the phone and in a tired, drowsy voice, answered, "Hello."
It was a warm summer day the bright sun had just risen over the hill in the distance he went five months without falling into their bad language, but today was that day... He had left his house that morning
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her gargantuan skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every morning together
Imagine a world in which there is no time. When does the man go to sleep? When does the man wake up? When does the man go to work?
Time is something that every one of us thinks that we have plenty of when we are young and a day seems like it will last forever. But as we get older we find ourselves wishing we had more time to do the things we seem to never have the time for. The problem with this type of thinking is we never find the time, we cannot just wish for more time. The solution may be easier than we think. With just a few minor adjustments to our way of life we are better equipped to manage our time. Managing our time properly can make a big difference in life for the better.
