“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you” (pericles) The 2016 elections were one of the most interesting elections the Unites States America has ever had to decide from. Trump defeating the Clinton establishment showed the American people were tired of career politicians but does it mean he will be different or the same as the others. As of April, 2017 Donald trump transition to the White House from Hollywood has been disgusting while promising to drain the swamp and be non-interventionist but has failed to do so and it leads me to doubt him. Donald Trump, a famous billionaire and a Hollywood actor whose personality as well isn’t exactly as well matured as you would think leaving …show more content…
Trump has promised that he would drain the swamp meaning the crooked politician in the white house would go, but he has only hired his corporate friends. Trump has nominated Betsy DeVos to be the Secretary of Education and that is a huge problem. She has never worked in public schools or any administration related to school function. The Huffington post called her a “bad choice” we would want someone who has familiarize with public school funding and at least has an idea on what is going on in the classroom. Betsy has no input but has been known to contribute millions of dollars to the republican party. So much for America first, but if you contribute to the campaign you are likely to have a spot secured by the candidate running for office. Draining the swamp only gets worse while our secretary of state is Rex Tillerson. Former CEO of Exxon Mobile and another wealthy billionaire. Draining the swamp was nothing about America first but show of power that money can influence Washington. According to CNN Mr. Tillerson has questionable ties with Russia which becomes a problem after the United States believe Russia has been involved in interfering with the presidential U.S election. Trump has only filled the swamp more and more with trouble. Trump has demonstrated that he is part of the problem and failed to keep his campaign
...ess time for the corruption brought on by one man with a plan and carried out by a few men with a hunger for more money to manipulate one man that had no real, true plan to be the President of the United States. Once Hamon’s plan took root, it only took about a year for planning, less than a year to have the “right” people in position, and about one year for the actual deed of drilling on the Naval oil reserve. Yet, it took a large amount of people investigating a case of so few, six years to complete the hearings. Water and oil do not mix just like politicians and big oil companies should not. The end result will always be one, nasty mess that no one wants to wash their hands in. Unfortunately, history has proven itself, The Teapot Dome scandal in 1922, and the Watergate scandal in 1972. If this continues, the next major political scandal will happen in 2022.
It is impossible to know until the time comes that 2008 and 2012 can really be looked back on. Pomper encourages people to look at elections and candidates not as isolated events, but to “focus on the similarities between different elections,. classify them. abstract some patterns” (Pomper 535). But can this always hold true?
Donald Trump is a highly successful business titan, real estate mogul, reality television personality, and now a 2016 presidential candidate. Since announcing his candidacy this past June, he has been very loquacious on his views pertaining to foreign policy. He takes a very realist approach when addressing these issues. His views are very much in line with the belief that the international political arena is not dominated by altruistic ideologies, but rather nation-states that are self-interested. His foreign policy platform centers on using hard power to achieve America’s goals in the Middle East and to eradicate illegal immigration.
Donald Trump has been a bad influence to the United States that doesn’t deserve to be president. The entire thing he has done during his running doesn’t show that is able to be president. Trump is an arrogant person that doesn’t deserve to be president and doesn’t deserve to be able to run a country; he is acting like a child he is not mature to run for
Last year, people voted against the establishment again. They overwhelmingly voted against another president with the surname Bush or Clinton and elected a man with no political experience. Donald Trump was elected to reject political correctness and stand up for the middle class.
Trump University was a fraudulent scheme that preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money,” (Cassidy). Whether through his actions or by the words of his past employers, it is evident that Trump is motivated by his own greed and self-gain. He is willing to swindle his way into success, even if it means cutting down on actual working class Americans to get there. Examining Trump’s rhetoric and past actions, it becomes clear that Trump’s ability to be the leader of America, especially in today’s already heated world climate, becomes questionable. When even the members of his own party refuse to endorse him and claim that he is not qualified to run a country, the general public needs to sit back and question his integrity.
As a result of extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the American dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president, but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on the media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
American wanted him to be president so here you go Donald Trump will be in office coming January 2017. Do I think he should be president? No but did I want Hilary to be president? Hell no! Donald Trump is wrong in so many ways when he says things but I will rather have that then someone I feel owes lots of people in this world many of favors. Honestly the only thing I like about Trump is that he is somewhat a businessman. I know everyone says it but it’s honestly true, the guy is good at what he does. I fell though as in since America is in tremendous debt Trump can use his businessman ability to dig us out of this hole that we are in or he can just possibly make it worst. I don’t think everyone wants to give him a chance to actually prove
America may have just been conned by one of the greatest con men around. Mr.Donald Trump is a business man with no political skills or experience yet he campaigned and won the election for POTUS. He now sits in the Oval Office on the very same desk that many of the tests once sat in. However, the differences between them and Trump are not so subtle. Trump stormed his way through the RNC and gutted the DNC. He was in no way discreet or quiet about his feelings or “concerns”. No one took him serious or saw him as a threat. He was just the celebrity host trying to pull off another gig, or so we thought.
On January 21, 2017, Donald J Trump became the 45th President of the United States. This was an unusual day, as more people were protesting in the streets of Washington, D.C. than attending the actual inauguration ceremony. Many people believed that Trump was going to lose the race to his rival, Hillary Clinton, but late on November 8, 2016, the voting polls had closed and Trump took the victory. Although Trump did not win the popular vote, he did win the electoral vote. Trump’s campaign had a lot of controversy surrounding it, as he said and did a number of things perceived by some as inappropriate and anger-fueling. Trump also made many promises during his 2017 presidential election. Many think that a president should not make that many
The past year has truly been an inimitable one, from mudslinging campaign commercials to scandals released and spread virally over the internet. There were many ups and downs for both candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Not only was the outcome shocking to many, but the ride to November 8th was bumpy, to say the least and, regardless of the candidate one supported, it was a rough ride for us all. Both Secretary Clinton and Mr. Trump varied greatly on many levels. Secretary Clinton lost the general election after she did not receive enough electoral votes, despite winning the popular vote. I argue Secretary Clinton could have achieved the electoral votes needed to win the presidency, had she campaigned harder, relied less on the voting
On November 9, 2016, Donald Trump was elected as the 45TH US President, defeating Hillary Clinton, and devastating millions upon millions of Americans all over. People have been told before to vote if they wanted to truly express themselves and be heard, but with this election, many Americans chose to sit out because of the candidates. Americans were completely shocked at the results of the election. While both candidates were not the ideal president, it was obvious that Donald Trump was the least favorite among the two, and his victory left all of America apathetic.
As a people we should keep in mind that, the candidates running for president are very intelligent people who have run successful campaigns. There are two sides to every coin and these two candidates each have their own side of the coin arguing the validity of each. Each side has its own merits and faults, and they have been debated for as long as our nation has stood. Both are valid arguments and we should be conscious of this but one of the candidates does not rise up to the standards of a valid argument. They have based their campaigns on exploiting the public’s fear of the government and appealing to ignorance. They have taken the majestic beauty of America and warped it into a dismal vision. They have divided us on how we view America,
Why Donald Trump is not a career politician. Because he is fresh in government in that will make him more ambitious to take advice from his supervisors. He can not be easily persuaded since he is fresh in government. Unlike Mitch McConnell. He will open to this generations
During his campaign, President Donald Trump sent shockwaves through Washington D.C. when he promised the people he would "drain the swamp." He said it countless times. He talked about the fact that lobbyists ran Washington and even told his supporters and crowds that he would know, he donated to several politicians himself.
