While Donald Trump has contributed to many, MANY negative issues in society the past 3 weeks, however he has done one positive thing; he has united America… against him.
Trump’s many controversial tweets, speeches, cabinet picks and executive orders have angered a large, diverse group of people for many reasons including but not limited to: blatant racism, sexism, complete disregard for science or environmental issues, promoting xenophobia, and exhibiting extreme homophobia. However this unlikely group of angry people who once had nothing in common, now share one thing; a genuine hatred and disgust for Donald Trump and his actions. Trump has allowed the true meaning of democracy to shine through his terrible actions. Some examples include:
The checks and balances provided by the Federal appeals court and the Justice department have ruled multiple times against his ordered travel ban, which targets Muslims and refugees trying to enter the country. There have been non stop protests in airports nationwide with crowds of people cheering as Muslim-American citizens

"Go buy Ivanka's stuff," Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, told Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy.” She then continued to say “Ivanka Trump has a "wonderful line," Conway added. "I own some of it. I fully, I'm gonna just going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today everybody. You can find it online."
This accurately depicts how Trump and his cabinet are unaware of the rules they must follow and how they are all placed under extreme scrutiny due to the angered public, who will do anything to remove him from office. The people have taken it into their own hands to ensure that every wrongdoing is accounted for and not
Janda, K., Berry, J., Golman, J., & Hula, K. (2009). The Challenge of Democracy: American
Every 20th of January, the United States undergoes the passing of power from one president, to another. On this specific election, Donald J. Trump was elected as president. He has received much criticism from opposition, but much praise from his supporters. Although a very controversial person, Trump gave a great speech that was based on uniting the people as one. Trump used multiple rhetorical strategies such as repetition, pauses in speech, and listing are just a few of them. Adding hints of populism, his speech was one that touched many citizens. While very controversial, Trump’s inauguration speech was one that was based on the people, not the elite, about bringing back what made America great, and uniting everyone as one.
To impel, Trump’s travel ban is flat out illegal. This is in accordance with The Immigration Act of 1965 which was summarized by The New York Times as follows “The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 banned all discrimination against immigrants on the basis
Democracy is rule by the people; the people elect governing officials based off of their personal values and beliefs. Different political parties rule the political scene and are serving to represent the people’s opinions in the best ways possible. Previously, I had a belief that my political view was essentially the only one possible and therefore it was the best. These views changed quickly once I learned the different political parties, their views, how they represent the people’s views, and how public opinion shapes politics. The government is formed around differentiating opinions on which policies should be in place and which social aspects need to be considered first. Not only is the government guided by opinion, but the people’s lives are guided by opinion as well. Each individual holds a different view, and each view can have an influence on society. Fortunately, after roughly eight weeks of studying American Government, I now have a better sense of complexity and the value of
Donald Trump is a republican politician and businessman who was elected on November 8, 2016, as the president of United States taking the power in January of 2017. Trump brought many worries to a lot of people in the U.S.A and abroad which made them unhappy, but his presidency also made many people happy, especially Christians and republicans. I personally did not watch the debates, but I was able to hear about it on people around me, as most of the people that I know wanted Hillary Clinton to win because they saw so much of discrimination on Trump. Trump focused his campaign and debates on focusing on changing America for better, but the better changes were saying was only to give the opportunities to Americans only, cutting off the opportunity
Dye, T. R., Zeigler, H., & Schubert, L. (2012). The Irony of Democracy (15th ed.).
Trump University was a fraudulent scheme that preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money,” (Cassidy). Whether through his actions or by the words of his past employers, it is evident that Trump is motivated by his own greed and self-gain. He is willing to swindle his way into success, even if it means cutting down on actual working class Americans to get there. Examining Trump’s rhetoric and past actions, it becomes clear that Trump’s ability to be the leader of America, especially in today’s already heated world climate, becomes questionable. When even the members of his own party refuse to endorse him and claim that he is not qualified to run a country, the general public needs to sit back and question his integrity.
Homelessness is a condition of people without a regular residence. People who are homeless are usually unable to acquire and maintain regular, safe, secure, and adequate housing. Homeless people constitute a demographically diverse population, and the situation is a critical problem in United States. The homeless are known as “the wondering poor”, “sturdy beggars”, and “vagrants”. This condition often occurs due to poverty, but this is only one of many reasons a person can be homeless. In addition to poverty, homelessness occurs as a result of drugs, mental illness, disasters such as hurricanes, or even domestic abuse. It is not a criminal activity.
In this article, trump is asking the department of homeland security to start its investigation and build cases for the brief travel ban on people from seven countries. The seven countries are as follows: Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. The case will include substantial evidence that proves that these 7 countries pose a threat to the United States. Many officials state that these seven countries play no role in terroristic threats but others also oppose. Some Intelligence officials are concerned about this assignment because they disagree. They state that nationality should not play a role. The DHS is currently looking for supporting data. There are accusations that the intelligence reports are being politicized and that the reports are not accurate. Representative Jerold Nadler has stated that the countries being targeted were not involved in the 9/11 acts. However, Trump officials have disagreed and plan to prove these countries involvement in the
Since the dawn of humanity, exercise has been crucial for physical survival. In recent times, however, exercise is losing its significance to human survival. Some would argue that it already has lost its significance, and as exercise becomes less important, people exercise less. According to fitness.gov, only 33% of adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week (citation). Clearly there is a problem. However, there is still a fraction of the population that exercises diligently. Why do these people stick with it? Exercise has countless advantages that are still extremely important to our lives. So even though the need of exercise may appear to be diminishing, the practical effects should be enough to encourage people
Immediately following the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States, men and women took to the streets of the United States in peaceful protest in the Women's March on Washington as well as marches across the country. However, the most formidable protest occurring within the first few weeks of Donald Trump's presidency occurred after the President issued an executive order banning immigration from seven countries with a majority-Muslim populous. Protesters gathered in airports across the country to protest the policies which would temporarily prohibit individuals entry into the United States from Iraq, Syria,
A prime example is President Trump’s anti-immigrant sentiment through his immigration policies and regulations. The United States is a nation built by immigrants and yet every new wave of immigrants to enter the country is viewed with suspicion by xenophobes and racists. However, there is a stark difference between a threat to national security and personal prejudice. Whether it be immigrants from the middle-east who are perceived as terrorists or those from Hispanic origins being stereotyped as drug dealers among other things. The president wants to create a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent immigrants from crossing over and is working to have all Muslims registered.
As the ISIS joined the war in Middle East, an increasing number of people are trying to escape from the warzone in Syria and Iraq. They are facing the problem which is how to survive during the migration. Most of them could be died. The Federal Government has announced it will accept 12,000 extra refugees affected by conflict in Syria and Iraq. This additional quota is on top of the existing 13,750 places already set aside for this financial year. Because of the existence of potential risks such as crimes, terrorism and government spending, some people refuse to intake the refugees while the others are arguing about humanism. So, after refugees come into Australia, there may be conflict between citizens and refugees. The Government needs to
As you know, the presidential election is right around the corner, and this one will be a sight to see. Many people dislike both candidates, which are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Instead of choosing one or the other, some people are deciding not to vote and I am hearing some people say "who cares, my vote doesn 't even count?" This is not the way presidential elections should go, and most importantly, citizens in this country should never think that their voice doesn 't matter. First of all, if you do not like those running for president in the two major parties, then vote THIRD PARTY. Yes, history shows that only the two major parties win, but that is because third parties aren 't as popular, but if they were included in the debates,
Many don’t realize that the road to success isn’t so much a road as it is a winding,
