Billionaire real estate developer, Donald Trump has shown the world that he is one of the most respected and sometimes yet most hated person in the world. With these differing public views, as a person and a successful businessman, he has become one of the most followed persons across the world. Not a day goes by where he has not been googled on social media, and he is known for his tweets. Because he is so popular, multiple biographies and articles could be written about him. To begin, Donald John Trump was born in 1946, in Queens, New York. He was the fourth of five children born to parents Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Donald Trump’s father was a builder and real estate developer. He later specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments, in the cities of New York to include Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. This business was very successful for his father, which allowed their family to live in a 23-room house. At the age of 13, Trump attended New York Military Academy. Trump’s parents felt this military schooling was necessary because he appeared to lack discipline. While in military school, he was known as the star athlete. In his spare time during school, he began to pursue his interests in construction sites and renovating old houses. Trump later attended Fordham University and subsequently transferred to University of Pennsylvania, where he earned an undergraduate degree in finance from The Wharton School of Business in 1968 (Dow and Noce). Following graduation, he immediately started in his father’s business, known as the Trump Organization. He used his newly earned education and training and financed the expansion of the his father’s business. He took the approach of convincing his father, “To be liberal in the use of loans based on the equity in the Trump apartment complexes” (Dow and Noce).
