I consider myself a Democrat so I have always seen the Republican party in a bad light. This past year as I have started to pay even more attention to politics since I will be voting for the first time this year and I would like to be informed when I do. If you're following the campaigns, or even if your not then it is impossible not to miss the train wreck that is Donald Trump. I will never understand how he made it so far when he is the punchline of every political joke. Even with his bigoted views, extreme ignorance of his own privilege, as in the case of (“my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars,"(Diamond). and total lack of government experience he is still seen as a plausible option for president. In Nate Silver's article, …show more content…
Is he worse or better than Donald Trump? While many Republicans believe he worse is I’m not sure I agree. The only reason that Republicans seem to dislike him is the fact that he called them names and their feeling were hurt. Honestly, though the answer doesn’t matter, the real issue is that this question must be asked, people picking the future president based off who could do less damage. I’m not the only one who considered this question, do a quick search for “is Cruz worse than Trump?” on google and you will see tons of articles with the same name. It’s strange to see such conflict in a party not over who’s better but who’s least bad. This is proof that the Republican party is failing in this election cycle as Nate Silver suggested.
There is another option left for conservatives who aren't as extreme as Trump or willing to settle for Cruz. Peter Beinart of the Atlantic, even suggested that liberals vote for Rubio in the GOP primaries in order to ensure that Trump does not get the Republican nomination. Beinart argues that Rubio unlike Trump “respects the Constitution.”(Beinart) Many Democrats may believe that it doesn’t matter if Trump is nominated because there’s no way Trump will win the election and will split the republican party. However, Beinart argues that this thinking is “reckless,” as there is no way to guarantee Trump
Ted Cruz is a fairly strong contender for the Republican nomination at the moment and has some definite strengths. His first strength is his fervent support of and commitment to upholding the Constitution, especially the First and Second Amendment. He worked as a lawyer prior to becoming a senator and is well versed in constitutional law. Another strength is his strong conservative ideals, which makes him popular among the Tea Party and evangelical voters, especially when it comes to issues such as abortion, marriage equality, gun rights, immigration and more. In addition, he has the ability to raise a lot of money. In the second quarter of 2015 alone, he had raised over $10 million, with no signs of slowing down. He has a strong campaign team
It is obvious the Republican Party has no brains. If they elect Donald Trump to run for president, they are going to lose big time. They can blame themselves for being so stupid. The establishment runs the Republican Party. They are the ones who lose major elections. The leadership of the Republican Party shifts the blame to conservative wing of the Republican Party; however, it is the moderate wing of the Republican Party who loses elections. Does John McClain ring a bell? If the Republican Party hopes to win the presidency, they must run a conservative or face another trouncing in the next election. It is that simple. Therefore, the Republicans had better wake up fast if they want to
Wisps of burnt-out curtains drape over shattered window frames, fluttering helplessly like a bird with injured wings. Pieces of wood collapse snapping once they hit the ground. Smoke swirls around in the wind. No sound can be heard except for the occasional sobs escaping the chapped lips of people visiting what is left of their homes. The once busy city of Amsterdam is now nothing but a city of forgotten souls. In 1942, the Franks and the Van Daans moved into a warehouse located in Amsterdam to escape the perilous world outside, where the Holocaust was taking place. Jews like the Franks and the Van Daans had their rights taken away from them. The Gestapo, the police working for the Nazis, rounded up people to be sent to concentration camps, where people worked to death. Margot Frank was one of them. Many Jews had to leave the country to escape, while the two families, and later on a man named Dussel, lived on the top floor of the warehouse called the Secret Annex. Living in such a small space and having sparse food with so many people was not easy. On weekdays, not a noise was to be made otherwise the workmen below would hear them. Food and other items had to be brought in by Miep and Mr. Kraler, who risked their lives to help the members of the Secret Annex. To keep herself company, Anne Frank wrote in her diary almost every day. Later on, her diary was published, and two authors decided that they would write a play based on the published diary, named The Diary of Anne Frank. Goodrich and Hackett created memorable characters in their play. Among these people, Otto Frank stood out, who emerged as a good leader because he put himself before others, made rough decisions when problems rose, and stayed positive and optimistic even dur...
Threats: Ted Cruz did not support abortion, and he did not support the distribution of birth control for women, which could have swayed some of the votes given by women. Cruz also does not support gay marriage, due to his traditional
Donald Trump has been a bad influence to the United States that doesn’t deserve to be president. The entire thing he has done during his running doesn’t show that is able to be president. Trump is an arrogant person that doesn’t deserve to be president and doesn’t deserve to be able to run a country; he is acting like a child he is not mature to run for
Ted Crux is a government official of the opposite party of the current leaders of the country. His stance on issues are on the farthest point right of the conservative republicans. What Democrats will bring forward, Cruz will do what ever it takes to make sure that it doesn’t pass and dies on the floor. Whatever the Democrats position, Cruz will take the opposite. Ted Cruz has stated multiple times that ...
In the midst of one of the most controversial presidential elections in history, both political parties are struggling to prove that their candidate is the best choice. Clinton and Trump’s disapproval ratings are very low, but one has to ask, is there really a lesser evil to choose from? While Clinton has had her own fair share of past discrepancies, Trump’s track record proves much more troublesome. Donald Trump has proven to be an untrustworthy presidential candidate because of his misogynistic actions, his racial bias, and his corrupt business history. During the Republican debate on August 6, 2016, Trump had a falling out with Fox correspondent Megyn Kelly after she questioned him about some of his comments on women, where he referred to them as “’fat pigs’, ‘dogs’, ’slobs’, and ‘disgusting animals’,” (Bahadur).
Marco...Rubio, Marco...Rubio. Just like the old Marco Polo game we use to play as kids it seems these days Marco Rubio is a hard man to find in the Senate as well as on the campaign trail.
The reason Trump isn’t a serious candidate, despite his high polling results, is because he isn’t backed by the republican party. He has no endorsements, no super PAC funding, and no backing from
Now Ted Cruz is many different things to many different people. People in general will either hate you or love you, but for Ted Cruz, even if he is hated or loved, he never
I am Senator Rafael Eduardo Cruz. Unlike President Obama, I was born in the country of Minister Maryam Monsef and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada. Since I have been very honest all of my life, my fellow Canadians and the American people in the State of Texas, and most the American Senators inside of the chamber are calling me Trusted Ted. Excluding Vice President Biden, Senator Sanders, Senator Warren and the Honorable Justice Ginsburg who is celebrating today. Happy Birthday to your Justice. Wishing you happy, happy years to come. "Ted Cruz is a little baby, a maniac, a nasty guy and a Bible- holding liar. If he doesn't cleanup his act, stop cheating & negative ads, I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen."
It all started when Republican candidate Donald J. Trump began to make accusations to one of his fellow party members. According WND news, Trump targeted candidate Ted Cruz by stating that Ted was not born within the United States and was born in Canada. Since being born in the United States was one of the few requirements of becoming president, Ted Cruz might be facing lawsuits if Trump’s statement is true. This would result in Cruz’s campaign to be plummeting further. This technique may be useful in boosting your popularity, but making accusations over a person’s background of their birth, makes you unpopular to people who are very sensitive to accusations.
Who would you like to see being the next leader of our country? Personally, Donald J. Trump would be the best fit for the leader of our country. He is an experienced businessman who is highly qualified for the leader of this country and the person who is in control of our country. Our country needs someone who is experienced in money to get us out of all the debt that we are in 22.5 trillion dollars. Our country need someone who can balance all of these things, and make the country safe, make it reasonable to go to the doctor, as well as give everyone that deserves that right to an education beyond high school receives one. Donald Trump is wanting to decrease the the amount of collage in order to make it easier to pay for colleges and debt ,he wants to make our country safer and clean up our cities also, he wants to have high quality affordable insurance, lastly but not least he doesn't support government funding for abortion. The well being of our country right now is awful Donald J. Trump can get us out of that.
I believe this because the two largest candidates are sort of xenophobic. The first and most popular candidate I will be talking about is Donald Trump. Donald Trump is very xenophobic he wants to ban all Muslim travel to the US and wants to keep immigration low. Donald Trump beliefs resemble the American Party, except for keeping slaves. Trump has a belief where because this is America we should speak English. This is similar to the American Party, because they wanted to keep our values American. Also, some of his views are because of the economy. He wants to keep Mexicans out because he thinks that they steal jobs away from Americans. Whether or not this is true it resembles the American Party. Ted Cruz is similar, but is much less Xenophobic. He is similar with Trump because he wants to keep Mexican immigration at a low, but Cruz does not want to eliminate immigration entirely. Ted Cruz’s reasons behind this are economical ones, like the American Party. I am not trying to say that these candidates would support the American Party it is just that their reasoning behind their actions are the same as the American
Donald Trump is an insulting person who thinks he is preferable to become our nation's leader; Trump is rude, has no respect for illegal immigrants, and he has no idea how run our nation and, is a person who thinks he is right for presidency, but in reality he is not fit to become president. Donald Trump has called people discourteous names that are so impolite that it has landed the point where kids are starting to use some of the words he has said. Donald Trump has an attitude that could lead us into a World War Three, which none of want in our nation.
