It was a nice summer day when my grandma Ellie decided to get a guard dog because there were wolves. They kept on getting closer every night and she didn't want them to be at the house when I was just 4 years old. My grandpa was trucking at the time, so he was not home when it got to be dark. So my grandma to tell my grandpa that we need a guard dog or something so the wolves would not come to the house.
He said that we could get a dog, but it had to of been a grown dog and trained because we need a guard dog. He was trained to be an outside dog, He didn't like men with hats on, I loved that dog because he was my first dog. When I get sad all I had to do was just whistling to get his attention and he would come. He really liked to mess with the horses we have and my grandparents hated it so when I would get dropped off from the school bus I would ride my horse up to the house. Max would be locked in the cage so that he would not go after the horses when my grandma come down. We would play in the yard when I went outside when my friend was not out. I would try to get him on my bed, but he didn't like to be on the bed. That bed that I would try to get him on is the same bed, I have today and sleep on. So when i get rid of the bed, I would get rid of max forever. I remember my grandfather going to go get him, but i don't remember when he got back or the day after so it sucks real bad. All I know is that it was during the summer

I’ve always felt that animals are the purest spirits in the world. They don’t fake or hide their feelings, and they are the most loyal creatures on Earth and somehow we humans think we’re smarter. I chose this topic about the canine because, some of these canines risk their life’s to protect dog’s best friend.
I was at my Grandpa’s house, letting his dog out. It was a Saturday night. My grandparents were out at a football game because they had season tickets. So I had to take care of the dog, Winston. He was a three-foot tall fox hound and he was tough as nails.
When you hear Pit Bulls; what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Maybe, mean or just flat out dangerous dogs. Many people have Pit Bulls and say they are great dogs and that they are great family pets. Many still think they are not safe to have as pets and some states are even trying to ban the ownership of Pit Bulls. I believe that Pits are good family dogs and that people have the wrong idea about these dogs.
As the United States Supreme Court has deemed that the use of highly trained canines is Constitutional to assist law enforcement agencies, they are a major deterrent for violent criminals, as well as a deterrent to proactive police work to prevent crimes from occurring. Canines are a major crime-fighting tool to assist law enforcement.
When I was little, me and my family were sitting in the living room and watching T.V. and the next thing we hear is the doorbell. When my mom opened the door our family friend Mary, told my mom that she had dropped her keys in the dumpster and needed me and my
One of my best memories is when I adopted my dog Bingo. I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was very small. The Humane Society was helpful in the process, they helped me with all the instructions and paperwork. This experience of helping a little animal was great as the love I receive back from him is overwhelming. This feeling is something I would do again and would recommend anyone who is capable of doing it to try it. They become family and will teach you the feeling of trust. Bingo is one of my babies, he welcomes me every day with a big joy, he depends on me and the same way he gives me his love, I returned it back to him. He has a sister who he plays with and soon I will be looking forward to getting another sister for
The Military Working Dog have been used for thousands of years. There is much evidence pointing to the connection of man and dog going back to the last ice age. Many different cultures across the world have employed them in battle. The United States has limited their Military Working Dog Program to one central facility and only select breeds of dog. The future battlefield will be shaped by new tactics and technology related to Military Working Dogs. These animals can be adopted or continue to serve in other respects once their military service is over.
My dog Shadow raced toward what sounded like water to me and as (1) a blind college student at Texas State University this could only mean one thing and that was the San Marcos River that flowed through the campus! I know naming a service dog Shadow when I was using him due to my blindness was ironic yet it was precisely what he was my constant companion and shadow. The sounds of people in the water playing and other dogs in the area only drove Shadow faster toward the fun. As a blind student I had complete trust and faith in my guide dog but the unknown of the water much less the stairs and hills between us were more than unsettling it was frightening. (1) I am an eighteen year old freshman that had complete vision until an auto accident
Then there was the time she was after my Grandfather to clean out the chimney. My Grandfather was up working in the fields when a chimney fire broke out. I was still a baby and my mother picked me up and went running next door to Aunt Mid's house. My Grandmother called the fire department (instead of calling for my Grandfather). My grandfather saw the fire trucks coming up the road from town - followed by cars of just about everybody who lived along the way! My Grandfather saw to it that the chimney stayed clean after that.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
I came home and showed the pictures to mom and Tristan online and we all fell in love with them so the search began we started looking every where searching for the right one ….and right price. We finally found one up north I don't remember exactly where it was but I do remember mom driving up their one evening and not getting back till late and the best thing was the next morning that is how she woke us up! I never will forget waking up to that cute little dog licking my face .
Happy feeling and emotions toward me is not always the best. I bought him for $400 dollars. When I first brought the puppy home, my family yelled at me for wasting my money. I was happy that I now had an animal companion to play with. He is still young and was still scared of his new surrounding. He cried every night, just like a newborn baby missing his mother. Now months have passed and he is still crying, I tried my best to make my dog feel comfortable and safe around me. I padded him on the butt when he uses the carpet as a restroom, as if he was outside in the backyard. He now fears me when he knows that he did wrong. When I see him, I yell out his name and say, "Time out for you." He will run along and hide behind the sofa.
