To what Extent does Globalization Contribute to Sustainable Prosperity for all People?
Globalization contributes to sustainable prosperity in many ways. In order to have sustainable prosperity everyone has to be willing to aid others, no one can achieve such sustainability for everyone without the aid of others. Humans have the potential to overcome great disasters and catastrophes with the help of globalization.
Some disasters that people have overcome challenging trials. During World War One, the Allied Powers fought the Central Powers and, Fifteen million soldiers died. During World War Two, the Allied Powers fought the Axis Powers. There was more than sixty million soldiers and civilians who lost their lives. During these wars millions of people died and lost their homes. There was so much destruction caused by these wars it was absolutely devastating. After the conflict ended high powers came together to discuss a seize fire and put an end to the war. There are the four forces of globalization, Trade, Media, Communication Technologies, and Transportation. In the world if there is need for resources, or money countries may trade goods. Some countries may sell their natural resources to wealthier countries, to make money. The Media, and Communication Technology, both allow people to find out what is happening around the world. If there is a disaster of some kind it may be announced on the news, or online. That will allow others to be able to help with any situation, as long as they know what is happening. Transportation, is a cheap way to transport things, such as supplies to areas that have just gone through a disaster, or may need supplies
Our global world is being more connected as we become integrated politically, socially and even economically. Due to the Bretton woods agreement, different countries have been economically dependent on each other in fear for war to erupt. From then on different organizations and policies tied more countries into being economic globalized. This economic globalization had then given us many opportunities in trades and more access to natural resources in other countries. Unfortunately, there are some negative effects that are brought to less developed country. Overall, many people believe that economic globalization does a great work on accumulating our economy and our quality of life.
Globalization helps many people achieve greatness. But for the majority it brings hardships and struggle. People will be plagued by the effects of globalization and will have a tough time over coming it. We are far from reaching a point where we can say we have sustainable prosperity throughout our world. But before we focus in on sustaining prosperity, we must first reach prosperity and bring it to all corners or the earth.
“Globalization contributes to sustainable prosperity for all people”. This quote contains mostly truth but there are also many arguments towards how globalization really does contribute to sustainable prosperity for people all around the world. This can be supported by three main points. How the rise of Japan’s economy effected the lives of millions of people. How shipwrecking effects the lives of both the ship companies and the workers in Bangladesh, and how economic growth contributes to the sustainable prosperity of the population in a specific nation. Sustainable prosperity can be defined differently from different individuals because of people’s personal opinions and their perspective is also effected by the people who influence their lives the most, but the main definition of prosperity is to have good fortune, or growth in an economic way. Globalization creates a gateway for sustainable prosperity to all people and gives people all around the world the opportunity to gain prosperity.
Globalization is the process of people of different cultures or countries integrating through interacting through trade or the use of social media. In “Point: Globalization Provides a Better Life for All” By Jennifer Graham, she provides a valid point of view of how globalization has benefited society. “Globalization enriches the human experience through increased cultural and economic integration, which promotes diversity by opening society to new technology, communication and ideas...Moreover, globalization helps to break down discrimination against people on the basis of religious beliefs or race” (Para, 11,13). Globalization has an impact on my lifestyle because I am currently surrounded by technology and different cultural food. With globalization I have access to different foods that I would normally never get to try, also technology has allowed me to gain knowledge about different culture I would normally not know. This results in me being more informed and benefited about the world as a whole because of globalization bringing the different culture of the world so much closer

Globalization is a series of social, economical, technological, cultural, and political changes that promote interdependence and growth. Globalization raises the standard of living in developing countries, spreads technological knowledge, and increases political liberation. (Harris 5-23) The main cause of globalization is influence from other, more developed, countries. Globalization is a historical process that results from human innovation and technological progress. The social effects of globalization are clearly illustrated in Peru. Once a third-world country filled with poverty and oppression, Peru is now transitioning into a developed nation. In Peru, globalization has raised the human development index, empowered women, and created a stronger country. (Leon 90-91)
Globalization contributes towards sustainable prosperity within the fact of it is used to help maintain one country's quality of life, yet also, can hurt other countries at the same time with the after effects that can or rather will follow. This shows that Prosperity affects more than one country at a single moment for it harms citizens of the more eastern countries. While it improves a country such as Canada, or the United States to keep a prosperity that is sustained for generations to come. A way of interpreting sustainable prosperity is different for each and every person from another’s perspective could be where a single group is a prosperous or the whole country is prosperous, it all comes down to a perspective. Perspective at hand involves
(Bilton et al 1996:5) The process of globalization has certainly had many changing effects to the world we live in; it has also changed the way many factors operate. Globalization is said "to have transformed the structure and scale of human relationships that social, cultural, political, and economic processes now operate at a global scale with a consequent reduction in the significance of other geographical scales. "(The Dictionary of human geography 2004:315) Globalization has had both positive and negative effects on a local, national, international and global level. Globalization often brings benefits at one level which cause negative effects at another, these results and the scale at which they manifest are often uncertain and unpredictable.
Globalization on a broader scale, is an integration act, involving cultural, mental, political as well as economic aspects of a person, among countries. It is mostly limited to, economic integration, associated with movement of people, exchange of technology and information, trade as well as financial flows. . This is practice is clearly miles ahead, as demonstrated by the ever increasing capital flows in the world economy as well as the level of importance, the world economy has. As a result of globalization, tremendous pressure is on the nations to keep up with its demands and this has had a lot of consequences. Some pundits will tell you that these effects are only economic based,
Globalization has been driven essentially by several minor factors varying from cultural, economic, political and ecological concerns, however, it’s being supported by the two macro factors underlining the trend towards superior globalizations. The two major drivers of globalization are; declining trade and investment barriers and the role of technological change (Hill, Cronk & Wickramsekera 2014). With the incorporation of innovative economic theories, I will discuss the key drivers of globalization since the 1970s. Furthermore, I will demonstrate how these key drivers have changed the nature of international business and determine the outcome.
Globalization eliminates the past natural isolation from all over the world, it made every civilized
Globalization affects this world and the people of this world in many ways. It is the idea of making the entire world like a single country.
Over the past few decades there have been discourses both in favor and against Globalization’s capacity to guarantee a sustainable future. Authors attest societies and businesses’ inability to account for ecological and environmental limits when dealing with economic growth, examples of this are some of the traditional business metrics used by most global companies, and nations’ measure of wealth (GDP); both sides heavily resting on economic factors, fail to account for societal and environmental concerns (Byrnea & Gloverb, 2002). Other researchers point at the intensive use of resources, especially by global corporations; such as the increasing and careless consumption of fossil fuels, water, precious metals, etc. leading to a rise in GHG (Starke, 2002) (United Nations Development Program (UNDP), 2000). Most fervent opponents go as far as to call ‘sustainable development’ an oxymoron (Ayres, 1995).
Globalization’s history is extremely diversified and began during the beginning of civilization. Now we live in a world that is constantly evolving, demanding people to use resources in locations that are very difficult to obtain certain resources. This could make it completely impossible to operate in these specific parts of the world. However, globalization allows people across the world to acquire much needed resources. Globalization creates the opportunity for businesses to take advantage and exploit the ability to take part of their business to a different country. Nevertheless, globalization is part of today’s society and will be involved in virtually all situations.
Globalization is a very complex phenomenon, basically it means the relationship and connection between countries are getting closer, and they have more contact, politically and economically. Globalization has influenced the world in many different ways, like culture, economy and politics.
