Fitchburg, Wisconsin. It was the place I grew up. It was where mom had her motel for the longest time. It was the place I thought I'd always stay and live. It was the place my brother was attacked. It was the place where I met them, where they taught me that monsters really exist. When the Winchesters first told me that my brother had been attacked by some kind of monster I couldn't believe them. There was no way what they were saying was true. There was no such thing as monsters, no matter what I saw the night Asher had supposedly gotten sick. What I had seen had been a dream, nothing more. Monsters didn't exist, everyone knew that. I thought they were nuts until I realized that if there was really a monster and it was killed, then Ash might …show more content…
He'd always been the more sensitive one of the two of us and had actually been a pretty big crybaby growing up but at that point he'd been going through a phase where he thought he was too cool to show emotion and had actually not cried in a while. Seeing those tears fall down his face as I threw the last of my bags in my car told me just how much my leaving was hurting him. He didn't bother hiding his crying when I turned my full attention to him. I pulled my brother into a hug and told him it would be okay, that I would come back to visit when I was done with my little cross country trek. I saw in his eyes that he didn't believe me and he knew I was lying. He didn't call me out on it. That hurt almost as much as his tears. Even after he felt I was abandoning him he was still covering for …show more content…
I know I'm still a rookie but I've learned my lessons fast and sometimes the hard way. I've never run across the Winchesters during my time on the road. I've heard plenty of rumors about them but I haven't actually seen them. I heard Sam started the Apocalypse and that Dean had literally been to hell and back, angels and demons were mixed up somewhere in the stories I've heard but I tried to take every rumor with a grain of salt. Angels and demons? I've seen some crazy stuff that would make most people piss their pants on sight and probably blow their minds to nothing but I've never seen an angel or demon. The demon part was believable since I knew there were hunters who specialized in them but angels? I think I'd have to see them to believe, the same with Sam drinking demon blood and trusting a demon. There was no way that was
For many people, hunting is just a sport, but for some it is a way of life. In Rick Bass’s “Why I Hunt” he explains how he got to where he lives now and what he thinks of the sport of hunting. There are many things in the essay that I could not agree more with, and others that I strongly disagree. Overall this essay provides a clear depiction of what goes through the mind of a hunter in the battle of wits between them and the animal.
Each person has a place that calls to them, a house, plot of land, town, a place that one can call home. It fundamentally changes a person, becoming a part of who they are. The old summer cabins, the bedroom that was always comfortable, the library that always had a good book ready. The places that inspire a sense of nostalgic happiness, a place where nothing can go wrong.
The sweetest hunts are stolen. To steal a hunt, either go far into the wilderness where no one has been, or else find some undiscovered place under everybody's nose.” (Leopold 104)

It's three o'clock in the morning. I've been sleeping since eight p.m., and now my alarm clock is telling me that it's time to wake up. Most people are sleeping at this hour of the night, but I'm just now waking up to pack up my gear and head into the forest for the morning. Last night I packed my .30-06, tree stand, a small cooler full of food and a rucksack full of hunting equipment including deer scent, camouflage paint and a flashlight. I've been planning a hunt for two weeks, and the weekend has finally come. I get up from bed, shake off the cold of the morning and get ready to leave by four.
I hope I have persuaded you enough to become an active hunter, or at least try out

Many believed, (and still do) that "monsters" were real, that the fictional creatures that "go bump at night" actually do go bump at night. So, a few people formed a society of men and women called "Hunters". From generation to generation, men rose to the responsibility of protecting the life of others, by hunting them. The two story of two of these remarkable group of people will forever live in the minds of men, we are forever indebted to them.
I grew up in Hemet, California in a neighborhood filled with friends that I grew up with. I remembered a lot about my home that I grew up in mostly because I remember details better than most people. I may remember details, but I love looking back on memories I had with my family and friends.
At the age of 12 my Dad told me I would finally be able to go hunting with him, if I wanted. Although a pistol can be used, a...
The Metell company made a toy called “Goodbye Fears Monsters”, the toy is designed to listen and respond to young children who have trouble falling asleep at night. The toy will interact with young children by allowing them to share their fears with them, that they might not feel comfortable sharing with anyone else, the GFM then assures them their fears will be eaten. The GFM will then record what the child shares and the recordings will be sent directly to the child’s parents via an app. The Metell company also promises to share the recordings, at no cost with child psychology researchers. This invention was developed in order for children and parents to sleep better at night, a lot of young children have trouble falling asleep at night because
Hunters often reveal that being in nature provides time to clear the mind. In the woods, there is no rush, no schedule, and no deadlines; nature moves at its own pace. This interaction provides a deep spiritual connection with the land, the wildlife, and our planet. Hunting has been around since the beginning of time and has been in many people 's lives for generations, these are some reasons why people all across America continue to hunt. Hunting has many benefits such as reducing deer related car accidents, controlling deer densities in heavily human populated areas, creates jobs, and feeding and supporting families. Thus, deer hunting is necessary for several reasons.
I always answer my moms phone calls because I never know if she is ok or not. One thing I have learned from hunting is that you always tell someone where you are going
Hunting may have been a crucial part of survival a 100,000 years ago, but in 2015 we have no need to hunt. Today hunting is just a cruel leisure activity.
This place is meaningful to me because it is part of the county I loved, is part of the county where I grew up and is part of my childhood. This place is in the country in an old region named Appalachia, a small piece of the Appalachian Mountains, in a town named Pikeville.
