Drizzy Drake, I’m sure if you asked anybody from the age of 13 to 30 who are the best rappers in this era this name would come up on their list almost all the time. That’s how impactful Drake music has been for the past 10 years. This guy has become one of the most popular rappers of his time and has even been the conversation of being one of the best hip hop artist ever. But I’m for sure if you knew this guy before the fame, luxury, and all the women surrounding him you would think that he would never be a rapper. Drake was born as Aubrey Drake Graham on October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Canada. Drake at a very young age was exposed to the life of music because his father Dennis Graham was a drummer for the legendary rock’ n’ roll star Jerry Lee Lewis, and his uncle played bass for Sly and Family Stone. Drake grew up in a mix religious culture his father was a African American Catholic, while his mother was a white Canadian Jewish. Drake says he identifies mostly with his black culture but being Jewish is a very cool twist it makes him feel unique. When Drake was five his mother and father got a divorce and Drake ended up being raised by his mother. Drake grew up in Forest Hills, a predominately Jewish neighborhood in Toronto. He attended Jewish day school, had a Bar Mitzvah at age 13 and observed the Jewish High Holy Days …show more content…
with his mother. Drake recalls that his mother always made holidays fun, he would get many cool gifts which was accompanied with delicious food. Even though Drake grew up being Jewish he felt isolated at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute since it was an all-white high school. He felt that nobody understood what it was like to be Black and Jewish. He added that being isolated and different made him stronger in the long run and he appreciates it. While Drake was in high school, his friends introduced him to the entertainment industry. His friend’s father was an agent who wanted Drake to audition for him for this upcoming show. Shortly afterwards, in 2001, Drake landed a role on the Canadian teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. The show was about the lives of teenagers that attended the school Degrassi High School.Drake played the part of Jimmy Brooks or as people called him in the show “Wheelchair Jimmy”, a basketball star who becomes paralyzed due to a gunshot bullet piercing his spin. Drake dropped out of high school to follow his acting career but later graduated in 2012. He starred in Degrassi for seven years which earned him a Young Artist Award in 2002 for best ensemble in a TV Series. While still appearing on Degrassi Drake started to cross over in to hip hop world, and began rapping. He released his first mixtape in 2006 which sold about 6,000 copies. He then released another mixtape called Comeback Season on his on Octobers Very Own imprint. This mixtape had Drakes very first single Replacement Girl which was featured on BETs popular hip hop TV show 106 & Park. Do to this song a well-known artist named Lil Wayne gave Drake a call in 2008 to ask him if he wanted to come on his world tour. This later became the opportunity for Drake to sign a record deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. On June 15, 2010, Drake Released his first studio album called Thank Me Later which debuted No. 1 on both American and Canadian album charts. This was only the beginning of Drake amazing career he later started working with may well known rappers like Rick Ross, Kayne West, Pharrell, etc. He made a big name for himself selling millions of records and making hit songs that debuted No.1 all the time. He went on countless tours and made millions of dollars while doing it. I discovered Drake music many years ago when he out his very first mixtape. His music seemed to connect to me in a way that other music couldn’t. He wound talk about the struggles of life and dealing with many problems lie money, women, and family. Even though I was at a young age and couldn’t connect to all the problems he was talking about I still felt like he was speaking some very realistic truth. Over the years I grew up listening to Drake and all his music that he put out. The older I got the more I understood what his lyrics meant and what he was trying to convey to his audience.
Some people would say Drake would play to many slow temp music and would talk about his feelings to much in his music. I always thought this was the best part about listening to Drake he wasn’t like them other rappers that always talked about having lots or women and being rich all the time. He rapped about what he was going through and all the struggles he had to overcome to be where he is at today. I felt like this is what other artist should of done it would of made the fans feel more connected to them when they listened to their
music. Drake would put all his secrets out to the world using his music. He showed his friends that nobody is perfect and that even when you get a lot of money you’ll still have problems that life will throw at you. This made me feel more comfortable expressing my problems to people that I trusted and cared about. Drake music not only made me feel comfortable but it also made me a better person. His music has inspired me to do what I believe in and that no matter what I can do anything I set my mind to. I hope that many other fans feel the same way I do.

With seven full length albums, a multimillion record label company, and a successful fashion business all under his belt, it’s fair to say that Kanye has done his fair share of creating. Jay-Z was born Shawn Corey Carter on December 4, 1969. He grew up in the infamous Marcy Projects in Brooklyn with a sister and a brother. You would think that just growing up on the Marcy projects would be hard enough for a kid, but at the age of twelve, Shawn’s parents got a divorce. Shawn then attended the Brooklyn High School with two of today’s better known rappers, Biggie Smalls and Busta Rhymes. Shawn Carter was an intelligent and promising student, but he had behavior problems.
When people hear the word rap, they think money and drugs. Unfortunately, every rapper falls in to that category however some rap can be more meaningful than any song could every be. Today, I’m going to show you one rapper who falls into this stereotype.
Biggie Smalls is still to this day known as one of the most influential rappers ever to be in the rap game. Biggie before he became

Rappers who have been considered soft have always been the victim of humiliation from others, in the documentary “Hip-Hop” Beyond Beats & Rhymes” Byron Hurt captures a scene at a rap concert rapper 50 Cent questioning the manhood of another rapper Ja Rule. He’s projected onto a screen and says to the crowd, “Ladies and Gentleman it has come to my attention that you guys don’t know what bitch ass niggas look like. Take a look at this” Appearing on the screen is a video of Ja Rule crying with watery eyes and a single tear streaming down his face. 50 continues to talk to the crowd when he says, “I know that’s not hip hop. You know that’s not hip-hop” (Hurt, Hip-Hop Beyond Beats & Rhymes) During this time 50 and Ja Rule were in a beef with each other. By questioning Ja Rule’s manhood especially in front of thousands of fans, Ja Rule was never the same. Ja Rule didn’t follow the masculine characteristics which is meant to be followed by all rappers and to 50, Ja Rule doesn’t represent hip hop. Although in reality both Ja Rule and 50 both came from hard upbringings but the reason Ja Rule got made fun of is because he tried to show his soft side and guys like 50 who showed no emotion were quickly to point out Ja Rule and discredit him as a rapper. To me the same thing that happened to Ja Rule is now happening to Drake meaning that Drake shows his emotions but the
As a result from extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the american dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
Kanye West has been an icon in American hip-hop culture for over a decade. His music, fashion line, producing skills, and flamboyant personality has influenced many people for generations to come. Coming out of Chicago, many people in the music industry didn't even think Kanye had a chance to become a figure in hip-hop, but his hard work and persistence paid off. Kanye started off his music career as a producer. He produced music for the likes of major artists such as Common and Jay-Z. His first major breakthrough came from producing Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint”— which is certified 2x platinum. Kanye believed he could be a successful rapper as well, but music executives didn't believe he had it in him. That all changed when Roc-A-Fella records signed Kanye to their label, and gave him a chance to shine as a rapper. Kanye’s background, critical analysis, and importance all shows that he has become one of the most important characters in American hip-hop culture to this day.

When Kevin Durant won the MVP award in two thousand fourteen he said this as a part of his speech, “Dear Mom, We weren’t supposed to be here. You made us believe. You kept us off the streets, put clothes on our backs, food on the table. When you didn’t eat you made sure we ate. You went to sleep hungry. You sacrificed for us. You’re the real MVP.” I will write about a man who went through a lot to be the great basketball player that he is today. Kevin Durant was born September twenty ninth in nineteen eighty eight in Washington D.C. The reasons why I chose Kevin Durant for this project is becuase he is extremely humble, he went through a lot, he has done great things for society. In the end you will see why I chose Kevin Durant
Drake, some people may call him the legend of rap music. Drake released his first album in 2006, and he has been dropping songs ever since. Drake released his hit “God’s Plan” earlier this year, and it blew up. What he decided to do after the release was simply amazing. Drake is an influential role model of generosity and charity through his actions of donating to schools funds, donating to Women in poverty, and funding for school programs.
In the culture of Hip, Hop rap began to rap in the streets expressing their thought and opinion through their songs, to get the attention of people. Tupac Shakur was born Lesane Parish Crooks in Brooklyn, NY, on June 16, 1971. His mother Afen Shakur changed his name when he was a small child to Tupac Amura after an Inca-Indian revolutionary, "Tupac Amura," meaning "Shining Serpant." It is so hard to become a rapper. But it is harder to become a Great Rapper. I believe Tupac is a great rapper. Not only a great rapper, but the greatest rapper. Like Snoop Dogg had said, “Tupac was many different things at once. Hardheaded and intellectual, courageous and afraid, revolutionary and….oh yeah, don’t get it f***ed up, gangsta.” To be a great rapper, you must have impact, commercial success, be good at song writing, a lot of performances and live shows and lastly, hella good rapping. The first song I heard from tupac was “ambitions az a ridah and all eyes on me” and it was real original so I went and listened to ‘Brenda got a baby’ which made me think “dammmmm he good, he good as hell”
