Dispositions Self-Reflection
After scoring myself on the Dispositions Rubric, I based my answers on what I thought best described my personality. All of my answers may seem like I gave myself a perfect score; however, I realize that I still have the potential to grow in all of the disposition areas with more experiences that I get in the classrooms. My values and beliefs played a huge role in how I scored myself.
I scored myself a value of 3.00 in the disposition area of caring. I believe that I look for the best in others, consider their point of view, am caring and respectful, and I am conscious of not being biased towards any student’s race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, or language. When I make decisions I believe that I am purposeful, thoughtful, and mindful. My ability to reflect is based on my faith. In my own reflectiveness, or examination of conscious, I examine all the values that I could work on in myself and then makes changes to improve on them. I expect to take that skill on to my future profession when I am reflecting over lessons or how the day went and what I could have done better to teach the material to my students.
Overall, I know that I still have some growing to do in order to become the best teacher that I can be. I can take the reflection and ratings into consideration and work on the areas of dispositions in which I think that I need the most work in. For example, knowledge and flexibility are the top two areas of disposition that I could improve in. I am excited to see how much I will grow over the years and I will continue to work on all of these areas of
