I listened to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Suites are different from Symphonies and Concerts because they functions as several short movements that all go together, sort of like a concept album or individual rooms in a hotel suite. This particular suite has 6 different movements: March, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Russian Dance, Arabian Dance, Chinese Dance, and Reed-Flutes.
STUDY GUIDE ----- The Anthem Chapter 1 1.a. What is the difference between a and a? The society that is represented in the novel is futuristic in terms of the actual date, yet incredibly underdeveloped to what we experience today. The political structure obviously works, because there doesn't seem to be much discontent among the citizens.
On March 13th the Rochester Oratorio Society and Houghton College Choir performed at the Hochstein Performance Hall in the city of Rochester. It was a predominately vocal concert with an accompanying pianist. The main performance of the evening was the Rochester Oratorio Society’s rendition of Johannes Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem,” in which vocal soloists Elena O’Connor and Benjamin Bloomfield took the front stage, and Linda Boianova joined Kevin Nitsch as a second pair of hands behind the piano.

The costumes in Shrek The Musical were the cherry on top of an already well produced play. Shrek and Fiona looked like actual ogres and looked very realistic with the green face and body paint. From head to toe, Shrek looked like a real life ogre. His clothing topped of him ogre like look and made him look very far from human. Similarly, when Fiona turned into an ogre she envisioned an ogre from head to toe. Donkey’s costume was also very realistic. He looked very similar to Donkey in the movie and his ears brought the whole costume to life. Lord Farquaad’s costume was the most interesting in my personal opinion. His costume was made very creatively to make him look oddly short. He was left walking on his knees throughout the show and there was a black piece of fabric with short legs on the front to hide his actual legs. His makeup, especially his eyebrows made him look more sassy which fit his character very well. The flashy gems and fabric of his costume made him look like royalty which was very well fitting since he is a king in the play. Another costume that stood out to me was Pinnochio’s. His nose that lengthened when he lied was very creatively made and also very realistic. The body paint on his face and arms made him look like a real life doll and his shoes were a good touch in my opinion to the costume.
The concert started off with Mi chiamano Mimi by Giacomo Puccini that was sung extraordinarily well by Alexandra Rannow who was accompanied by a pianist. Mi chiamano Mimi is in the first of four acts of Puccini’s La Boheme. This piece is meant to be sung with emotion and is supposed to make the listener feel what Mimi is trying to say and how she feels about it. Although the performance was amazing, the singer could have put some more emotion into her singing like moving her arms around a bit.
In a father-and-son bond, it's important to develop a healthy relationship between the two. In the poem "My Papa's Waltz", the author Theodore Roethke, analyzes the relationship between the speaker and his father. The speaker loves and admires his father however, he is also afraid of him because of his actions with alcohol. This relationship can be shown through poetic devices such as similes, metaphors, and irony.
Theodore Roethke's "My Papa's Waltz" is a short poem about the memory of Roethke's father. This poem has a number of memories to tribute to Roethke's father. There are many good and bad memories about Roethke's dad with many examples to show us that he was a good and bad father.
Theodore Roethke’s short poem “My Papa’s Waltz” is a small representation of the bond between a young boy and his father while waltzing in their kitchen. The father has had too much whiskey in his system and seems to be drunk. The father and son are knocking over pans and creating a huge mess, upsetting the mother. The boy is trying to enjoy the dance with his father, but his ear is getting scraped on by his father’s belt buckle. This straight forward poem ends with the father waltzing the son up into his bed for the night.

music that was played on the beach at the start of the film to show
Theodore Roethke’s “My Papa’s Waltz” can safely be interpreted in at least two ways. On one hand, it is a poem about a young boy dancing with his father around the family kitchen. The dance is more reckless than graceful and there seem to be a few minor injuries that occur during this dancing. However, it is still a seemingly cheerful experience and any injuries that might occur are merely accidents. On the other hand, this poem can also be seen as one about abuse. The “dance” that the father and son are partaking in is actually a metaphor for the father abusing the young boy. The reason this poem can be seen in both a positive and negative light is because of the mention of alcohol, the mention of beating, and the mother.
The musical selections and songs that were sung told a story and narrated the almost the entire film, as is expected in...
The music in the film was spectacular and was incorporated in dance scenes to highlight different parts of the love story. All of the actors had some expressions on their faces that entertained the audience throughout the entire show. It made it look like all the actors were engaged
The animation suggested a time when the scene took place by displaying the sky colored of the sun setting while the remake solely focalized on the characters. The Prince’s suit was in saturated blue and Belle’s dress was in desaturated yellow. The blue and yellow colors were constantly used as the symbols of these two characters. With this in mind, they were not used in the live action. Belle turned out wearing an embodied white dress and the Prince was wearing in pastel blue. The texture of costumes added distinct elegance as patterns were attached to it. It was inspiring how the director took advantage of color symbol to convey the theme behind. All dancers were dressed in white costumes, represented the innocence and peace. It was the first time when villagers were invited after the ‘transformation’, and this built up a soothing mood reassuring a happy
