Discovery has always been an integral part of human ambition and curiosity. What kinds of discoveries lie at the bottom of the ocean or in the vast outreaches of space? These are the questions I have wondered about since I was a young boy watching the TV show Dragon Ball; a television series about a boy from outer space who lands on Earth and his journey meeting different creatures and life forms from the bottom of the sea to the end of the universe. As a child, this sparked my curiosity about the world unknown and the amazing wonders we have yet to discover. As the years went by, my curiosity grew not only through new discoveries made in the world but also by the fact that there was so much more to discover. We haven’t even covered the tip of the iceberg. Almost two-–thirds of our oceans are …show more content…
With these thoughts in mind, I wanted to create new innovations that could change the world for the better as well as help us learn more about the world around us. Transferring into mechanical engineering, specifically, will allow me to obtain new knowledge and work in areas such as bio-medical and aerospace engineering and robotics. Ultimately, I endeavor to create new devices to help better health care globally and find more efficient ways to explore space and the seas. I want to transfer to meet professors and students who have interests in similar areas that will make me challenge myself, take courses and join activities where I can participate in many different projects that will allow me to tackle some of the world’s current problems.
Transferring to an institution with passionate professors and courses like mechatronics,
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Having already started, run and sold a successful landscaping company, I have experience in entrepreneurship and have determined being an entrepreneur is something I want to pursue in the future. I believe Engineering Physics would give me the opportunity and breadth of knowledge to make my entrepreneurial vision a reality and allow me to find solutions to the issues that will impact the future of humanity. Being on UBC Supermileage
I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
Throughout high school I have dreamed of having the opportunity to attend Indiana University. I have a true passion for babies. I love to learn how babies are developed and how they become such an amazing part of the world. Therefore, I would like to apply to Indiana University and pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing. I would love to be able to deliver babies and deliver new life into this earth. There are several opportunities available for me to get involved with new leadership opportunities. I want to be able to be a leader for all age groups.
Opening Statement: Forget about exploring outer space, we should concentrate on something a lot closer that we only know a small fraction about - Earth’s oceans.
Humans have existed for about six million years, evolving, creating, learning and making society what is is today. Nothing in the world would be explainable or creatable, without curiosity. In society, we see high levels of technologies developed from years and years of discovery. We have good discoveries like, highly developed entertainment, transportation, and communications. However we have very many dangerous discoveries, including, climate change, our own political ideas, and weapons.
" 9) While space has more information discovered, Earth and its ocean have more to see and more to discover. Earth is a beautiful planet, and the ocean is still being discovered, but exploration will continue for both the ocean and
All these ideas are displayed in my selected texts. Firstly the consequences of discovery can stem firm our perceptions

The world and universe that we live in, is meant to be discovered. With most of the world already have been explored and uncovered, amazing things about the world we live in have been discovered; the history of our world, people, etc. However, not much of the universe around us has been discovered, and charted. I believe that, it should be so, that there would be much more discovery of the universe we live in. From previous space explorations, there have been astonishing things that have been found in our universe from stars to planets, to beautiful galaxies.
Our home (the earth) contains many interesting features and activities which makes many interested individuals seek research, explanations, and answers. With a curious mind and years of research many different people have been able to explain and even answer many of the earth’s mysteries. It is a shame that many brilliant minds have died before sharing their discoveries or reaching the answer of their life long work. With a lack of technology and evidence many great ideas have been rejected and ignored.
Like any true art form, literature is able to elicit intense emotion, potently address social issues, and uncover revelations about the human condition, and this is exactly what I love about it. It offers insight into important morals, human ideals and contemporary issues in society in a stimulating yet entertaining way. It goes without saying that language is a necessary vehicle to literature; English is not only important and relevant in modern life, but it is also a fascinating language that has a rich and vast vocabulary, which is why I've developed such an interest in the power and origins of language. I feel that that studying English at university level would allow me to gain a better understanding of literature in its spatial and temporal context.
By exploring these concepts of discovery I have been able to broaden and deepen my understanding of myself and the world around me. This is because by knowing that with the experience and change we encounter, we are prone to realise something which finally leads to a discovery. Learning this I recap on many of my experiences and changes I had to go through and reanalysed what I discovered. Not only of my past experiences but also the current changes I am faced with and all the questions that arise. With this I continue to anatomise many situations, thus constantly allowing me to deepen my understanding on
The universe is considered the next great frontier and it could hold answers to questions we haven’t even asked yet. The complex history of space exploration, and our continuous debate on funding for NASA leads to further curiosity on what our future discoveries could consist of. NASA’s
