Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
In modern era, digital imaging is widely used in every application around us in form of satellite communications, Internet, High Definition Television (HDTV), fax transmission, and digital storage of movies and many more, because it provide superior resolution and quality. From many years, medical imaging has opened the way for advanced medical imaging and telemedicine by taking advantage of digital technology. In electronic form of medical recording, images such as MRIs (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), X-rays, CT’s (Computed Tomography) etc. are digitized & stored as a matrix of binary digits in computer memory and along with this medical imaging require communicating and manipulating such large amounts of digital data in a regular manner. So there is an immense need of reducing the electronic storage required for archiving and/or transmitting digital medical images. One way of achieving this goal is through compressing the data/image before storage and …show more content…
Digital Image Characteristics
The characteristics of digital image are defined by following multiple parameters:
1. The first characteristics of a digital image are its mode of color. A digital image may have any one of the three modes: grayscale, binary and color. A grayscale image is an image in which each pixel contains a single color i.e. shades of gray color. A binary image is an image in which each pixel contains two possible values i.e. either black or white. A color image is an image in which each pixel uses different color.
2. A next characteristic of digital image is the color model used for color images. There are different types of color models which are used in digital imaging and each color model specifies the spectrum of possible colors for the pixel. The range of color which is visible on an image depends on the use of color model. Because of this a particular portion of visible spectrum is used for a digital image in particular color model, and this portion is characteristics of the
Cellular Automata can also be viewed as a simple model of a spatially extended decentralized system made up of a number of individual components[cells].Cellular Automata comes in different shapes and varieties. One of the fundamental properties of a cellular automaton is the type of grid on which it is computed. The number of colors (or distinct states) a cellular automaton may assume must also be specified. This number is generally an integer, with (binary) being the simplest choice. For a binary automaton,"white" is called for color 0 and "black" for color 1. However, cellular automata having a continuous range of possible values may also be considered.
Before delving into the philosophy of color and the questions posed by different pieces of art, the biological basis process of HOW color is seen should be explained. The retina is a neural sheet, containing the photoreceptors called rods and cones that is located at the back of the eye. Between the retina and the optic nerves leading to the brain are a series of cells that create a lateral inhibition network of the light/dark signals from the photoreceptors (1). This throws away a lot of the information generated by the photocells and gives the brain a "picture" of the edges of light and dark. The contrasts are created, leaving the brain to fill in the rest. Color vision is even more complex. Cones (the light adapted photoreceptor) contain three different photopigments, red, green, and blue, each corresponding to a particular wavelength of light (2). Color is a property of three things: the ratio of red/green activation, blue response, and value or lightness (3). The brain utilizes visual inputs to determine each of these, thus generating the characteristic color.

For example, if a star has a blue magnitude of 5 and a visual magnitude of 3, then it has a color index of 2. Color indices range from about -0.5 for the bluest stars t...
Harmonic characteristics are primarily harmonic and usually move in parallel lines or motion. Rhythmic characteristics are usually formed with irregular sounds and rhythmic ostinatos to give feeling to the movement and the sound, Whole tone scale divides the octave into equal major system that lead to a not clear flow and finally the pentatonic scale is surrounded when black keys are
Color is an important resource in visual communication. Color has many functions. It can be used to classify people, places and things. The colors of a flag can designate a nation. Corporations and universities use color to distinguish identity. With maps, colors can distinguish water, land, etc. They can mark and identify separate elements. The colors become icons. Color can convey an interpersonal message without language. This can be expressed in the colors that we wear such as ‘the power tie’ or colors that indicate safety and warning. C...

The chapter we will be looking at today will be discussing electronic and image records. We will focus are time on key terms and key idea throughout of the chapter. The first part of this paper we are going to be look at electronic media; the second part will be record security and safety; and the final part will be image media. Electronic media will be addressing the key ideas; such as relationship between “electronic and image records; magnetic and optical media; removable data storage devices; data input; storage and retrieval procedures.”(342-348) The second part we will look at records safety and security. This section will discuss “record safety, protective measures, conversion and backup; protection against computer viruses; record security; policies and checks; security measures; data protection; security for faxed documents; and e-mail retention policies.”(350-360) The last set of ideas will confront image media.

Different types of photography are used to evoke different emotions or different effects. Panoramic images are several different images digitally stitched together to give the effect that a single image was taken instead of many different pictures. This is used a lot in outdoor (nature) photographs because sometimes the photographer cannot take a single full image of a huge mountain or a long landscape. HDR or High Dynamic Range photography is an effect that sharpens the details and edits the lighting to make a photo sharper and more interesting to the eyes. High-Speed photos can be used to catch events that may happen faster than a human can see. Examples of high speed photography include water droplets falling into a body of water or a bullet going through a watermelon. Monochromatic photos are photos of all in one color. Photos in one color might be trying to provoke certain thoughts such as sadness, death, and even happiness.
With today's advancing technology, it is possible to do just about anything you want quickly and efficiently. You can order flowers to someone's house over the Internet, have a computer plot a map in your car, and send pictures to relatives via email. Digital cameras are the new way to record photos. There are many advantages of having your pictures on a disk or memory card as opposed to having a roll of film. New cameras have made it easier to load film, take pictures, and get superb quality; but digital cameras have taken it a step further. So which is better? Well, it all depends on your purposes and needs.
According to Pew Research Center's Journalism Project, the overall drop in newspaper circulation began in 1989 and has been at a gradual decline of 1% a year since (Pew Research Center's Journalism Project, 2007). 1989 is also the year of the birth of the World Wide Web(Home.web.cern.ch, 2014).
A digital camera is a device that allows you to take photos and also record videos. A digital camera can also edit your images in an editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. Most digital cameras have different pixels and lens which you can the best specs if you pay the price.
