Technopedia describes digital immigrant as “an individual who was born before the widespread adoption of digital technology”. The term can likewise refer to those who were not exposed to technology at an early age. Based on this, I would definitely consider myself to be a digital immigrant. Digital immigrants are also regarded to be the contrast of digital natives, who have been exposed to and interacting with technology since they were children, if not from infancy.
As a school administrator today, there has never been more to consider. How we educate students appears to be at a “tipping point”, where a focus on applicable skills has become extremely important. Researchers have identified the need for competencies to be more central in education if students are to be active members of society. Competencies that will allow students to understand their world, engage in their learning, manage their lives confidently, and contribute positively to their communities (Miller, 2011). Today, schools need to be engaging students in more inquiry based learning, encouraging them to develop higher-order thinking skills, and guiding students as they direct their own learning. We need to learn to communicate in the language the digital native, and encourage the use of technology in their schools. This can be done by encouraging the curiosity of staff about what can be accomplished with the use of technology. Teachers should be encouraged to attend professional learning opportunities to stay up to date on the latest technology. Teachers who effectively use technology in the classroom would be urged to model that use for others through a mentoring system to provide teachers a place and person to go to for help and ideas. In addition, illegal immigrants are viewed in certain quarters as takers in the sense that illegal immigrants benefit more from public resources than the american-born citizens of the U.S. However, the reality is that immigrants contribute positively to the U.S economy and pay significantly into the system compared to what they send back home. In addition, the contributions associated with undocumented immigrants involve sustaining the solvency of the SSTF (Social Security Trust Fund). In this sense, the use of cost benefit analysis by those supporting immigration restrictions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts on the ground (Nadadur 1037). The opponents of undocumented immigrants believe that having more undocumented immigrants in the U.S is costly; however, there are no solid reasons to prove that undocumented immigrants are a burden to the treasury. Instead, the undocumented immigrants play an important role in boosting the economy and in particular by taking up jobs those citizens perceive as demeaning because the money they earn goes back to the economy through taxes resulting from consumer spending when they send money back home.

Teachers in classrooms across the nation struggle with computer technology, the many features, and the never-ending cycle of new devices that are bought into their classrooms daily. Because of the lack of training and severe levels of discomfort, teachers have developed a negative disposition towards the use of technology when it applying it to principle. Recognizing the noted factors, it can be resolved that we do live in an interactive world. Our job is to effectively integrate the technology in such a way that it supports, guides, and enhances learning for all parties involved.
